Danke schoen mein Freund. Wo kann ich die Worte finden bitte ? Excuse my basic German. Its almost 60 years since Ich habe in die Schule gelernt. If I had had this fellow teaching me in school I would not have failed my examination in German all those years ago.

I first heard this in 1961 when I was a G.I in Germany. It has stuck in my head all these years and I never could remember the whole thing, mostly the chorus. After I became a little familiar with the computer I began searching and here it is. I would have had to hear it on AFN or radio Luxembourg. Glad I found it and now I know all the words. Too bad there is controversy over who wrote it.

Thank you so much for posting this song. My Aunt, who was from Berlin and came to live here in the UK, used to love this record and I have been trying to find it for years.
