My POD X3 came with a stack of presets. You need a good chorus pedal for the clean sound.

The chord you're referring to is called a Bb/D, your fingering looks pretty good to me, but try to let the notes ring the entire time the chord is playing. For the next part (the A minor shape that goes into an Am/D#) try placing your pinky finger on the high A note (7th fret d string) instead of your ring finger. This will allow you to let the bass note ring when you change from one chord to the other.

Your advice is very musically sound, thankyou. The whole progression seems to be n a minor key if I'm not mistaken. I've still been playing around with it and exploring other possibilities. Using the pinky instead of the ring finger will open up other variations of this chord too, I think!
