K-Mart is an incredibly underrated and is one of the best man-to-man defenders in the league. Look at what he did against Elton Brand a fews years ago in the playoffs. He completely took Brand out of the game. Plus, he is quick enough to guard the best players on the floor. Just like he did with Kobe in the playoffs this year.

If you actually watched the games than you would know that Martin did a nice job of containing Kobe. Plus, that wasn't even the point I was making. I was trying to say that Martin is an underrated defender because he can cover big men AND still cover shooting guards. There aren't too many power forwards out there that slide over to defend shooting guards...

I was at both home games in LA if you would consider that actually watching the games.

I'd say Eduardo Najera did a better job on Kobe than anyone else on the nuggets.

But I kinda see what you're saying. It's hard for power forwards to stay in front of guards because of difference in quickness but Martin has both the explosivines and the speed to do so

There are a lot of good defenders that don't get votes like James Posey, Gerald Wallace, Kirilenko, even Artest barely got any votes and he as still great.

Camby is great but he isnt a good man-to-man defender. He gets a lot of his blocks off of the weak side. Exactly why he got ripped up in the playoffs by Gasol.

J.kidd is almost a 40% 3 point shooter....which is above average. & k.mart is a great defender....MJ got more votes then pippen...yet pippen guarded magic in their first finals because jordan couldnt. the votes really dont mean much in the NBA....k.mart is 1 of the only players who can guard a 4 the first half the game then shut down a point guard like tony parker in crunch time(most point guards dont stop parker) to say he couldnt guard kobe is retarded....its KOBE...no one stops him

yeah "underrated" meaning hes a good defender but he doesnt get credit for it. maybe if he said Kmart is an underrated shotblocker that would make more sense. whatever. i dont have anything against KMart hes been a beast since the Cincinnati days.
