man i really want to build a tiny little city for ants and have them live there for a while then build a dam with some sort of river system and break the dam just so i can watch the ants in peril...
@bhermoth : It's computing the best possible image based on the "engine" used. Rendering happens all the time, even the image on your computer screen of a FireFox or Internet Explorer window is being considered to be rendered.
In games, there is also a lot of rendering going on.
An engine is what gives the game it's looks and functions in graphical effects, some games have an engine that can do semi-raytracing reflections.,
@toastingbread You simulate the water within Realflow 5.0 (the latest version) And you bring it into C4D where you render it. For more info go check out google
first, making an extruded cube with a glass texture and some bump, importing it and using a basic cube that you get to render in and telling the application to render 200k particles isn't considered "AMAZING"
i would give a "OK"
give some photos from your work in C4D that prove your good.
So, with this software, do you get a preview of what it looks like before rendering? Because it would be so painful to wait 200+ hours to find that it's not the result you were expecting.
There is a movie about Pixar. Damn the built in dictionary doesn't even recognize Pixar -.-' ... so. In that movie they tell about how many days (!) it took to render their animations in the ancient times. Watching this and reading the comments realize how many talents are out there determined to make extraordinary things. Dude, I just can tell you keep this up, and do what you believe in! I guess that's what all the great folks did! Make something extraordinary (Y)
@Plutoniummatt i;m not sure how long each frame takes, but yea it does take a lot. wouldnt be surprised if each took 6 hrs as unex1000 says. anyways, they dont wait for one to finish to start the next, they render various frames simultaneusly on parallel.
ok i m not a real flow champ but it appears to me that simulation was proportionally incorrect. It look like water is hitting some pebbles. Where as when big waves hit bigger objects water splashes in some different way. I recommend you to observe some video referencing .
how much computer memory do you have cinema 4d keeps telling me i dont have enough memory about 110-160 frames in to a simple project and i have 4 gigs any thing i can do to make it work ?
@TheParkourDrummer well they are just blocks with 6 sides, so i dont think it was so extreamly long, i would say about 8-10 hours on a ok computer, perhaps 12-14 if you have abitt older computer
The problem is, bigger resolution would mean even more particles, while he already has 300k... I would recommend just to use ''Filter'' method and some ''Relaxation'' and play around with other ''Mesh'' settings until you're satisfied with your result. 300k should really be enough for this kind of simulation...
It depends on the configuration you will use...the global illumination setting in mental ray..if final gather activated or not and the indirect illumination in vray..the image sambler combined with your RAM..
Its think because they didn't refine the mesh size. to make it look good the mesh would have a huge poly count. Realflow will default to a polygon size of .04 but one at .02 which will double the polygon count looks more realistic. It will take up more hard drive space, and take a little longer to render, but has better results.
So reading the description and title to a video is being a smart arse is it? sorry but without that basic intelligence and interest how can you possibly think that you would be able to manage a 3d modeling and rendering software?

Because, i tried to render something similar on my quad, and it took like three days to render 100 frames.

Mental Ray faster than vray
ATILIX 2 years ago
How much faster?
Am i going to notice a difference?
logitech4873 2 years ago
It depends on the configuration you will use...the global illumination setting in mental ray..if final gather activated or not and the indirect illumination in vray..the image sambler combined with your RAM..
ATILIX 2 years ago
In my experience mental ray requires more time to output the same GI accuracy as Vray does in a shorter time

What are these? Plugins for Cinema4D?
CrazyMonkey124 2 years ago
Yes, Realflow is a plugin program that lets you simulate water more realistically than i've ever seen.
VRay is also a plugin renderer, more advanced than the standard renderers like MentalRay i believe.
Both plugins are for Cinema4D, 3Ds Max, Maya and some other programs.
logitech4873 2 years ago
Yeah, I have Realflow and Cinema 4D.
CrazyMonkey124 2 years ago
You liquid is too thick.
Common mistake in realflow is to use too large a scale. 0.01 makes for quick simes, 0.1 makes for long sims, but much nicer liquids
