  • Anyone have a direct link to this? I came across a download page from their website.. but apparently you have to download 5 ISOs?! Typically linux is within 700MB

  • I would love to own an iphone/ipod touch of that big :-D

  • what is that PDA?

  • how do you install this on a blank device

  • So that's what happens when you mate an iPhone and a PocketPC

  • yeah but you gotta get em really drunk first

  • Now, this is a story all about how

My life got flipped-turned upside down

And I liked to take a minute

    Just sit right there

I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air

  • what umpc brand is this?

  • Was this model ever released?

  • looks great

  • what UMPC model is that?

  • hurts my ears use a different camera!

  • Jesy Cresy whats with the high pitched Whine, making this unwatchable.

  • looks like the maemo platform form tne n800.

  • They're both based on the hildon desktop

  • so cool, ive seen in other videos it comes in different colors too,IMO its a really interesting device there,Linux itself is a pretty interesting program, ive seen a few vids of it,it seems that roughly 85-90% people say it rocks, but i dont have it yet so i dont know exactly,im absolutely getting this, the touch screen is pretty trippy as well, and by the way, does anyone know when it will come out? or if it has come out, were i can get one? (soz, but im not really very informed on these matters)

  • what device is that???????????????????

  • Apple has a patent on multi-touch. This is the future of mobility. MIDs will replace the cell phone. Imagine unlimited voice calls anywhere you have a connection (which is almost everywhere you have a cell connection now with a 3G connection) for $30 a year via Skype. The Carriers are in trouble.

  • Apple doesn't have a patent on multi-touch, the technology is licensed from Perceptive Pixel. Apple has applied for a patent on its multi-touch track pad though.

  • that will be the world in only a few short years

  • Who needs patented multitouch equipment when you can just rig up a Wii remote on a Bluetooth connection to track four points simultaneously? Ha. :D

  • make a multi touch version. that would put it on a different league

  • ok, does anyone think that "red flag" prolly means chinese flag.

  • It's exactly an Chinese Linux distro.

  • ok, does anyone think that "red flag" prolly means chinese flag.

  • this is just like the iphone .... kinda

  • umm no yea they both have touch screen but thats it in your logic a ds is like an iphone

  • the speed on it iz really good, wher can i get one ???

  • Wow! Youtube is pretty fast!

What is this thing called again?

Does it have a specific make and model?

  • I like these Linux UMPCs, because you can do so much more with them.

  • Lienux

  • I think I, know this gay.

  • lol, looks a bit like the interface on the iphone

  • tha interface has been arond for a long time apple stole it

  • surely it was copyrighted

  • surely NOT, do you know what open software is?

And anyway you change in a little part the icons and you can say that was casual they look like those... it's easy if you have a hundred lawyers team... :-D

  • I don't know you, but you sound like an unpleasant person.

  • looks like the maemo project only wtih a Iphone-like theme.

  • "very finger friendly..."

  • what linux is that?

  • what is the model name of this UMPC???

  • i like that phone it made me so shiver aheheheheh

  • The touchscreen features look great, like rotating pictures.

  • @viperteq: Next time you should try with something else that is not Damn Small Linux :P.

In the other hand: I REALLY WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!

  • if you try ubuntu, you won't say that it's awful ugly...

  • just have a fast processor and a lot of ram or you'll say it's slow. ;)

xubuntu - best of both worlds.

  • When can we expect to see this released? Will it be released globally at the same time or will it be released in specific geographic areas on a time schedule? What will be the price point of the device when it's released?

And I do have to agree that the UI does look strikingly similar to the iPhone. But I think that's a good thing....my number one complaint about Linux for years has always been that it's god awful ugly.....

  • cool. what's the price gonna be like?

  • It looks remarkably similar to the iPhone's interface, except with a stylus, and no multi-touch. I do think that this is a step in the right direction... this is what UMPC's need more than a version of Windows. If somewhere down the road this becomes readily available and the UMPC hardware is not too expensive, I think this is something a lot of people would buy.

  • the specific device showing here has a physical keyboard. the hardwriting recognition feature will be provided by some 3rd party vendor.

  • Is there handwriting recognition? Because entering text using the virtual keyboard is terribly slow. Nice though :)
