This is the ONLY movie in the world, which as soon as something reminds me of it (like accidentally coming across this vid while browsing for a Pineapple Express trailer), makes me wanna find the old DVD I had wherever it is and watch the film again no matter what I'm doing at the time. Make sense??
@cissick88 im sorry but ..a trash movie like pineapple express shouldnt even be in the same sentence than chunking express, this is a work of art, pineapple is a work of a moron...
show up Tony Leung into the store is my most favorite scene in this movie and that made me to love him. and I was interested about Police guy afterwards. and I got married with police! Tony is my sweet heart.
It follows different stories of different people. The film is based on the element of change and expiration (you'll notice this when watching). One story ends and another begins. (Change).
The first time I saw this movie I cried at the end, but not because it has a happy or sad ending. I was just happy realizing how deeply in love I was falling in love with this film.
@jeteve59 Old boy, American History X, Pulp Fiction, The Profound Desire of the Gods, Platoon, Downfall, Casablanca, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, are know just a few of my favourites, movies which make sence and develop emotions and exitement like a real film should, unlike Chungking Express which just bored me to death.
@cho0nie Where you live? Obviously you dont know shit about film. This film shows greatly how the relationship between two individuals who lived in a busy city like HOng Kong are like. You can see they are working moving, running an errand all the time, and yet they can still developed some kind of strange, peculiar relationships.
You need to look outside of your window for once :), not just watch a few western films and think you are an expert.
@ThisIsDream It’s a bad film in my opinion. I don’t care about the peculiar relationships which are created. I didn’t feel anything for this film, it bored me and I base films on other attributes. When I watch a film I want to be engulfed within it, not bored. And for the record, Old Boy is Japanese and so is The Profound Desire of the Gods, many of my favourite films are foreign so stop patronizing other peoples opinions on films and being small minded with your views on a 'good' film.
@cho0nie i never patronizing other ppl opinions, a film bored the shit out of you doesnt mean it is a bad film. It is your problem, cause u have such narrow mind and view to judge a film because you are 'BORED'. You may find a film bored because of your limited cutlural view. A 8 year old country kid find Pulp Fiction bored as fuck, does that mean Pulp Fiction is a bad film? No, it is the immature kid's problem. Grow up.
I don't know what version of Blade Runner you were talking about, but this movie was made before Amelie. I was kind of mad after watching Amelie--I felt that the idea was stolen from Chungking Express--just personal opinion though.
used to have my hair short like that.... the nutty stuff she does.... she reminds me of me too lol. & that uncle of hers... he's such the business man - always trying to sell something lol.
oh & tony... he is 1 of the greatest actors with the most expressive puppy eyes. loved him in IMFL!
@hemorrhoidprime I know what you're saying. I clicked on this video with the intention of scribing some pseudo-intellectual paragraph describing my initial reactions to this film, but it really just boiled down to "omg i adore every second of this movie <3333333333"
It's my dream to have Wong Kar Wai, Takashi Kaneshiro, Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung, Christopher Doyle and if only, Leslie Cheung to make a film together again...
also..to add...........i think this film is special becuase it has the timeless appeal.........i had no idea tht this film was from 1994 when I watched it (in 2009).............i felt so bad the moment i found out tht this film is old....its like i felt i missed out on a generation of movies and celebrities.......every1 in this film..is really old now...thts kinda sad.....i gotto noe them too late...........the girl who played faye was awesome
This transition from the first story to the second is excellent.............the way the editor gave the second protagonist an entry....makes audiences feel that they were waiting for this character to arrive the whole time......i remember while watching the film.i was like....now the movie has begun..and it was worth it..especially with tht kind of music...wow....
Maybe not Wong Kar Wai's best film, but certainly my favourite. Faye Wong is sooooo beautiful!
