I think the Soviet people had a hard time before the war as well, with the great purges. i beleive stalin killed 18 million of his own people. Including the majority of the armys officer corp's.

For every one who think WW2 victory is just one country victory. Dont forget first of all about the turning point at Stalingrad (Soviets ) ,dont forget Canada,USA,British overall Allied forces.Having to fight two fronts was the MAJOR reason for nazi`s downfall.Which means one side needed the other desperately.

If the 3rd Reich unleashed its wrath only on one front,history might have been different after all.

@unvmoi About russians killing more than germans... learn some history man, Germany killed ~24 000 000 (a quarter of hundred mils!) soviet people (incorrectky refered by you as Russians) -- only as far as soviet (!) civilian (!) casualities go. Also there are high soviet POW counts for the beginning of war, none of which made back -- thats also millions of ppl.

So I'd say that before saying anything stupid perhaps it's worth a while to know the subj a little better?

The Germans are not the only one who commited atrocities like the holocaust and crimes against humanity. Do you forget what happened in Nanking during the Japanese occupation of Manchuria? Well, just in case you did, thousands of women were raped, many people were tortured and buried alive. And what did the rest of the world do about it? Nothing. They didn't intervene in Manchuria. And even after events like Kristalnacht, neither the American gov't nor the English gov't made any intervention.
