The power windows are the only thing slow on these cars! The 1979 Chevy Citation turn signal-cruise control-wiper switch and 1982 chev pick up heater knobs. There. The only things wrong with a WS6. Oh...and the seat gets a rip on the left bolster. Other than that? perfect car! Great, reliable, fun, fast, handsome cars. I sold mine and bought an 03 Mach1...regret.

I'm super jealous, I have a red 01 mustang gt convert that I've fully customized and I absolutely love it but it was a toss up for me, I couldn't find any trans am's in a good price range or I would have had one of these in no time! A couple suggestions: lowering springs (needs it BAD), finish the black on the lower rear bumper-ceta style, that stripe you got going looks tacky IMO, find some better exhaust tips then those pickup truck tailpipes lol oh and did I mention it needs lowering? When you do springs, do yourself a favor and get a set of Sam Strano's springs. They're a linear rate, true race-style spring, and they don't over stiffen the rear like almost every other spring out there.

I moved to Manila in 2007 and sold my 2002 WS6 coz it would cost $10K to ship it overseas and v8 muscle cars are not allowed...only 6cyl camaros and mustangs. I miss the ws6. I used mine as a family car and daily driver. Put 77,000 miles on it and it was perfect when I sold it. Not 1 single problem. Changed the oil and put gas in it...washed it. My baby daughter sleeping in the back seat.

I like corvette but the TA is a sweet smooth ride. I get comments every place I take it. Let's face it the LS1 6 speed combo is hard to beat. Except for the Ls2 and 3 .. :-) If I hit the lotto I will get a ZR1 ..

Im thinking about doing a 00-02 TA for my next project. Im not a big fan of red but it u dropped this a inch or 2 and painted it black and got some nice 18's chrome rims and exhaust tips that would be sweet. I would yank that lsi and stroke it and supercharge the bitch. You should put out a respectful 500ish hp with that. I did with my 93 rx7 with a lsi swap

Chrome rims are not my cup of tea. But i like what has been done to the car. I expected a lot more engine/general performance mods rather than all the asthetic improvments that were made. Nice car and keep up the good work. Now SLAP A CAM and HEADS on and call it a day!

They are not tail light covers, all the lights are painted and sanded so the light can go through. I did not have it done so I can't tell you details on the proccess. I talked to a body shop that told me it's not easy to do properly. They do make overlay's but they do not last long.

The original owner had them done, they are painted and sanded. I am not sure how it's done but the paint shop told me it's not easy to get it to look that good. I would check around at your local paint shops and see if you can find someone that does it.
trans ams are firebirds, its a factory performance upgrade. "The Trans Am was a specialty package for the Firebird, typically upgrading handling, suspension, and horsepower, as well as minor appearance modifications such as exclusive hoods, spoilers, fog lights and wheels." Check Wikipedia for that quote
Did you not go to wikipedia like i had suggested? The Trans Am's have Trans Am badging instead of Firebird on the doors, and also completely different bumpers. Its still the same car underneath, just with a few minor upgrades to make the performance better.
Trans AM = deck lid spoiler, different nose w/ fog lights, leather interior
Formula = chin lip spoiler (fugly), no fog lights, cloth interior
LS1 motors were all the same, all LS1 f-bodies (Camaro/Firebird) were underrated by factory because of GMs unofficial policy that no mass produced sports car shall make equal or greater than the y-body (Corvette). 345HP actual, 305hp/320hp rated by sales sticker
That'd be an aftermarket hood. People were talking about factory options and the differences between them. And some people have modified the factory WS6 hood, so that it's functional. But once again, that's not the way it came off the showroom floor.
You have to do more than just seal the bottom half of the air box to make it functional with the factory hood. The factory hood has air deflectors in it to prevent water from entering the intake area.
The fast toys ram air kit is a more practical option for most than gutting the hood and coming up with a solution to seal the air box. And the gain would probably still be insignificant compared to a aftermarket 'smooth air flow' lid and silencer delete kit.
you bought a trans am, "FROM A DEALERSHIP" and you are ignorant to what you bought?. . i hate people with more money than sense.. A pontiac firebird is the base model car. No base firebird except the "Formula" has a v8. the trans am is a firebird but the name trans am brings with it a whole new vehicle. yes interior is the same but other than that the performance is nothing alike. All t/a's have a v8. and only t/a's with the ws6 package and slp firehawks have the ram air hoods
you can get a factory ram air formula too its not only t/a that have that. t/a with ram air just had higher volume of sales. know ur ish before talking.

definitly lower it and also paint the bottom part of the back bumper black right where the exhaust comes out.. i did that with mine and i have the black tail lights as well. it looks bad ass. nice car tho bro Fbodys FTW

Chrome rims are not my cup of tea. But i like what has been done to the car. I expected a lot more engine/general performance mods rather than all the asthetic improvments that were made. Nice car and keep up the good work. Now SLAP A CAM and HEADS on and call it a day!

They are not tail light covers, all the lights are painted and sanded so the light can go through. I did not have it done so I can't tell you details on the proccess. I talked to a body shop that told me it's not easy to do properly. They do make overlay's but they do not last long.

They are legal, and yes they show through the paint, including the backup lights.

The original owner had them done, they are painted and sanded. I am not sure how it's done but the paint shop told me it's not easy to get it to look that good. I would check around at your local paint shops and see if you can find someone that does it.

trans ams are firebirds, its a factory performance upgrade. "The Trans Am was a specialty package for the Firebird, typically upgrading handling, suspension, and horsepower, as well as minor appearance modifications such as exclusive hoods, spoilers, fog lights and wheels." Check Wikipedia for that quote

Did you not go to wikipedia like i had suggested? The Trans Am's have Trans Am badging instead of Firebird on the doors, and also completely different bumpers. Its still the same car underneath, just with a few minor upgrades to make the performance better.

WS6 = non-functional ramair hood, larger WS6 anti-sway bars, bilstien shocks
Trans AM = deck lid spoiler, different nose w/ fog lights, leather interior
Formula = chin lip spoiler (fugly), no fog lights, cloth interior
LS1 motors were all the same, all LS1 f-bodies (Camaro/Firebird) were underrated by factory because of GMs unofficial policy that no mass produced sports car shall make equal or greater than the y-body (Corvette). 345HP actual, 305hp/320hp rated by sales sticker

The WS6 option was a factory option.
The Ram Air hood installed by ASC was functional.
Maybe I am not understanding you.

That'd be an aftermarket hood. People were talking about factory options and the differences between them. And some people have modified the factory WS6 hood, so that it's functional. But once again, that's not the way it came off the showroom floor.

By modifying, are you talking about sealing the gap between the hood and the air box?

You have to do more than just seal the bottom half of the air box to make it functional with the factory hood. The factory hood has air deflectors in it to prevent water from entering the intake area.
The fast toys ram air kit is a more practical option for most than gutting the hood and coming up with a solution to seal the air box. And the gain would probably still be insignificant compared to a aftermarket 'smooth air flow' lid and silencer delete kit.

you bought a trans am, "FROM A DEALERSHIP" and you are ignorant to what you bought?. . i hate people with more money than sense.. A pontiac firebird is the base model car. No base firebird except the "Formula" has a v8. the trans am is a firebird but the name trans am brings with it a whole new vehicle. yes interior is the same but other than that the performance is nothing alike. All t/a's have a v8. and only t/a's with the ws6 package and slp firehawks have the ram air hoods
