Panasonic do me one favor and don't alienate us early adaptors too soon. I know this technology is only going to keep advancing and advancing but i just hope it doesn't happen so fast that they just drop the 3D technology we're currently running.
It does sound cheesy as fuck! But i got the 46" Viera Plasma Full HD 3Dtv and this shit ain't no mutha fuckin joke! I'm a hardcore gamer and i plug hours in on my TV with no Burn in. I've had the 3Dtv since March and been gaming on it since then. The TV comes with Burn in protection in the form of a Anti-Image Retention scrolling bright white bar that one is suppose to run for 15 minutes for the best results. With the right care and settings you'll be blown away everyday.
@cactuskid007 You'll be waiting for a very long time then, seeing as Pioneer aren't making TVs anymore. Plus, Panasonic hired a bunch of former Pioneer engineers, so we're seeing near-Kuro blacks on Pannys now.
This technology is crawling along at a pathetic slow pace. People have been watching movies in 3d since the 50s and its barely gotten anywhere in half a century. Sure you have the fancy plug in glasses and the technology to have glassless 3d, some new TV coming out this summer that is compatible with any 3d method but still, there should only be 1 type that requires no glasses. And it shouldve been the standard in tvs and movies decades ago.
F*ck that! The TV is going to cost like 1,000 or more and then the 3D DVD player is going to be like 500 and then movies are going be like 20 or 30. Why the hell would anyone do that just buy a Blu Ray player and f*ck the 3D! But what ever it's up to them how they spend there money. Oh and by the way I'm not old school I'm just saying that sh*t is going to high priced ya know?
just seems like blu ray players and big screen hdtvs just now become affordable for some people in the last few months.....and now this shit! theyre not giving technology enough time to stick around for a bit. yea i know they dont care, its all about the money....but these people...these companies have the technology years before they release the shit. so just make the damned 3d blu rays work on a reg blu ray player and make a 120hz tv able to play blu ray. you guys can do it so fucking do it!
lol they can't do that. you need a special TV that synchronizes with the glasses. they don't use the passive polarized light thing. and you should be able to use your PS3 to watch 3D, they're going to release a 3D update for it.
because if so, im not going to do it. too much $ already invested in what electronics we already have at this point and im sure its the same for all you guys as well. i just wish fucking marketers would quit being so damned greedy all the time and stick with one thing for atleast 5 fucking years nowadays. every time something new comes out you have to buy like 3 or 4 fucking things together just to make the thing work (whatever the case may be) and its getting really old.
ok so im kinda stuck here on a certain aspect that i cant seem to get a straight answer on no matter how long i look for it on google so i decided to come to youtube to ask you guys: my wife and i bought a 6 series samsung hdtv, 55'' 1080p 120hz the works. now...i thought that the only thing required to watch 3d was going to be a 120hz tv and up. now it seems i have to have a special 3d tv and the special 3d blu ray player, even though we just bought this tv and i have a ps3. is this true?
But, whether that translates to 3D TV's success is a whole other matter.
It's the wrong time. It's a bad economy. If the economy were solid, maybe. But, then there's the issue of the glasses. It may be ok for 2 hours, but for viewing all the time? No.
Then the cost. $350 for a pair? Again, not in this economy. Perhaps gamers, but, we'll see.
I just don't see it. Not now. If they can push out glass-less 3D sooner than 5 years, & get more stations, maybe. Until then, nope.
3D is great and all.. But why make TV's that make us have to have 3D software to view it.. It can't convert regular 2D tv and movies to 3D.. Which means we gotta pay for 3D channels, 3D movies.. I gotta replace my bluray with 3D bluray movies I own already just to watch them in 3D.
Panasonic's 3D images have an incredible level of realism that you've never experienced before. Here, we introduce the secrets of this outstanding image quality in easy-to-understand terms. HA HA HA HA , they use NVIDIA 10 years ago technology for that you need glasses , chek the new Phillips 3D WOWxv no need glasses , you see directly with your eyes , this is the best 3d tv ever out , his win CES 2009 , a vest 3D Tv no neeg glasses shit !

3d Tv is a joke.
NO stations broadcast in 3D yet. ESPN is signed up to, but who else?
Glasses MAY be included, but aren't always. And then only ONE pair! Glasses are $130+
Then its not clear whether your home theater will work,
Extra equipment is needed.
Not only is this bad timing (bad economy?) but, there is absolutely NO reason to upgrade. Not now.

pixar movies are going to be made in 3d , sony ps3 games are turning 3d. hollywood movies are increasingly made in 3d. it's actually soon , 2011.

I think it would be a bit expensive to buy that massive 3d plasma screen, 3d movies and also a 3d blu-ray player. May be useful for cinemas.

that sucks and is pointless.
BlazeCustoms 1 year ago
@ BlazeCustoms
because we don't have the technology to make 3D out of 2D. and if we did, that would be a lot more expensive.
VHS to DVD. DVD to Bluray. SD to HD. HD to 3D. it's just another technology jump. people can stick with the old stuff if they want

the ad is so crapply done it makes the 70s seem cutting edge
btw all the other brands are mostly picking up active shutter glases and the same tech

I have to see it. When I think of 3-D I still feel like I'm going to see it grannie. Can't picture it looking HD.
The glasses suck.lol
That means every time someone else has to come in the room there going to get a head ace from the double vision looking at the tv.

Why do they still have the goofy square lens glasses? They need a futuristic looking design.
henik9 2 years ago 2
to cover your entire line of sight (looking forward) which is something seeing glasses do not do.
Its also needed because the HD 3D image is actually larger than the screen and the glasses need to be big enough to cover this.

Interesting.

this oddly reminds me of some of those fake commercials they'd make for background on a futuristic scifi movie.
