people need to stop worrying about every little thing that happens this is not at all a big deal, this is just another case of the media having nothing better to report about
On the contrary,food-borne illnesses are very serious indeed, maybe not for you,a healthy adult, but for pregnant women, young children, elderly, and people with compromised immune systems it's a very serious threat. A small child can die from dehydration caused by diarrhea...
It's the responsibility of the CDC to control and prevent a food-borne illness outbreak, and protect and inform the general public.
according to webmd the number of people sickened due to this "outbreak" is 1017, only one person has died. according to the census numbers their are over 304 million americas that would mean your odds of getting sick over this are less than 1 half of one percent, this is not a serious matter people do not need to worry about this, this is just another fake pandemic hyped up by the media. if i stuffed my face with 100 jalapeno peppers the odds of me getting salmonella would be astronomically low
If these 100 jalapenos that you "ate" were contaminated from time of growth meaning the soil they were grown in was contaminated with let's say E Coli and you did not cook them to a internal temp. of 165F for at least 15 seconds, the odds of you getting sick would indeed increase greatly. The reason this is such a serious issue with food is because people always think they are safe and ignore food safety regulations, and then they look elsewhere for someone to blame when they fall ill...
