Also, I have to wonder. Do the Purge attacks and the Selena's Distortion Attack actually bring it down a stage? And does the Hand Cannon run out of ammo?

That gives it an interesting gimmick. You can either settle for lower attacks or bring out it's full power at the expense of breaking down.

Course, I'd presume the Double Gekigan Flare is more powerful than all the others, so it's kind of a moot point.

Also Gai's Aestivalis sure just slaps the old slightly discolored head on, huh.

@NegativeSquad The Purge attacks do, but the Distortion Attack's animation of it doesn't. And the cannons do run out of ammo.

Oh, and the Double Gekigan Flare is the strongest attack out of all the stages. By far.

I'm agreeing with the fact that Akito and the story in general suddenly going DARK GRIM DARK for no reason other than some writer took up drinking or something is one of the more retarded plot twists there's been. I know giant robot shows having any sort of happy ending is banned by law, but come on. Black Selena is pretty rad, though!

The movie was pretty good, if not for the fact that you need to play a Japan-only Sega Saturn game to have the full story.

The Black Selena was the highlight of the film for me, at least.

I think that's because in R, Gai is probably part of the Nadesico B's crew, while in W he's in the Artemis garrison with Ryoko.

Actually in R Gai and Akito from the series get their future mechs, the main characters are from the future and brought back the schematics to make the future mechs. As a result Nadesico era Akito gets the Black Selena and Gai is given the super packs for his Aestavalis.

Yes, I realized that in my third play-through (doesnt know japanese dialect x.x). I just dont use him as often, or even give him any kills. =p Hes like an outlier before he gets the BS.

The Black Selena is probably one of my most coveted and prized mech, I literally maxed out its stats in one playthrough BECAUSE you dont really get the Black Selena until near the end of the entire game, and no I dont buff Akito's basic Aestivales(sp) because I find the originals to be simple and well...id go as far as to say even grunts could use such things. I know many would disagree with me but I dont see any importance in the Aestivales 1's or 2's. =/ useless IMO.

You should of shown what the non-dynamic kill of the Distortion attack looked like while in normal mode. I actually find it cooler than the dynamic kill.

Makes sense actually. Why waste memory on a DK for an attack that you can't use for like 80 percent of the game (as its rare that you have both Akito and Gai at the same time.

A) The unit has four existing dynamic kills, meaning they're obviously not too bothered by its lack of playability.

B) The amount of time you can use Prince of Darkness Akito is exactly the same amount of time that you can have both him and Gai deployed at once. It's not like you don't have Gai for nearly the entirety of the second half of the game or anything.

Besides, they gave Shin Getter, Majinkaiser, and Great Majinger's team attack a dynamic kill. Who uses Great Majinger?

In SRW MX, you get him at least 3/4 into the game.

In SRW W, you get the Black Selena in the last three (two if you don't count the chapter where he joins halfway) chapters.
