@itsWTFtime Touhou is a series of danmaku(aka curtain fire, aka a variety of shoot-em-up with (usually) slower, but denser groups of bullets. Your "ship" is actually one of a list of flying magical girls who go around trying to shoot down other flying magical girls. There's actually a story beyond "you're here, shoot everything that moves", though that's what you do anyway. There's actually a lot one could say on what Touhou is, to be honest...

I think Demetori was just trying to express themselves a little differently here, they tried to make the song very foreboding and threatening. I think in that sense they did an excellent job. As an overall song, it's pretty mediocre compared to the other songs on the album, but it does carry a great atmosphere. They tried to go all sorts of different directions on the album (fast-paced & upbeat, slower and more mellow, etc.). I wouldn't use this to represent Demetori overall (cont.)

I'm very pleased with how this sounds compared to Demetori's earlier work, The heavier edge feels rather fresh from this band, though I can understand if you're a little unerved from this. It's totally a breath of fresh air compared to the sound they had from Il Mondo Dove, IMO. Though, it does beg the question: Now that they've made something of this nature (With the downtuned guitars and all), are they going to be making Death Metal covers of Touhou Songs?

Demetori themselves have developed a unique sound that clearly distinguish them from the most majority of circles out there over the years, just like S.S.H., THOUSAND LEAVES and a dozens of other circles. Demetori have tried a lot of different sounds throughout their albums, 闡提宗祀 ～ Offering to The Sukhavati and Il mondo dove e finito il Tempo does not resemble each other at all but :out of space:

It's nothing bad though since it seems to please the vast majority if their fans. I'm not very impressed with this one. It's a bit slow, and not as melodic as my favourite Demetori arrangements. Believe it or not, I actually find it TOO hardcore for my taste. Yes, I'm getting down-voted severely for this, but I'm just stating my honest opinion.

On another note, is anyone else reminded of Doom II's level 10 (Refueling Base) music from this one? I never noticed it listening to the original Heian Alien, but this version made that stand out.
