Maybe it's because I'm an English major, but I think lyrically alone this song is worthy of five stars. His message is delivered so genuinely and with such subtlety that it ultimately resounds as a very poignant song.

Great music doesn't have to involve mind-blowing instrumentalism. Take Josh Ritter's magnificent "Here at the Right Time," for example (which, like this song, is also in the key of C). Sometimes gentle execution speaks more profoundly than anything.
