  • Hey fellas can someone tell me if he gives a discount on a 6 month contract if you pay him upfront? I know its something like 230 a month for bjj, thai mma...any info would be great and hows the bjj? do they teach takedowns? some bjj schools barely touch on takedowns and just star on their knees...personally takedowns are sooo important in a fight a good one can end the fight

  • @thyrlara247 i kno a better place in flushing that teaches you muay thai, bjj, greko, and catch wrestling for only 150 a month

  • @BrolicTank no pma is the best

  • @BrolicTank and wheres that?United mma centers?

  • @BrolicTank where is that ?

  • @thyrlara247 Yes there is a discount if you pay up front.I forget the amount because its been almost a year since I joined. But when I joined I paid a few months up front so my monthly cost was fairly low.

  • I am a junior's green belt here at PMA. It is a great training place for weight loss and for fun. :D I suggest you come!

  • Its a great school. Its a huge new clean place. Have all kinds of innovative equipment for dynamic strength training and weight loss. The Muay Thai and Bjj classes are tout by very skillful instructors. I have seen people start with zero skill, and 3 to 6 months later they were ready to fight. Its a top school in NYC.

  • @Mourtaz well looks like im part of the fam now!

  • I`d like to come and train with you guys.. but I`m in Europe :( :(

  • i started there a few weeks ago.and its a great school.

  • how much do you pay for what you are doing

  • hey is it expensive?Im from flushing!

  • its about 150 a month

  • its about 150 a month or it IS 150 a month,is that just for one program or all 3? thai, bjj and mma?

  • Actually the core/mma program is $179 a month,I pay $110 a month because I put down a larger deposit.I couldn't remember when I first responded thats why I said about, sorry. The cost for all three programs is $229.Considering a lot of people pay that much to buy Starbucks coffee everyday,i'd say it was worth it.

  • yeh i figure it be that much,so u can do mma for 180 or all 3 for 229 a month?is it a 6 month contract or a year contract?

  • Yes its a 6 month contract. But as far as I know they don't let you do everything when you first join. You have to wait for the instructor to say your ready.Although that part can be frustrating because I seen a couple guys start doing the Kali and Muay Thai classes who started the same time as me and a few other guys. And there really not that great. And as far as the BJJ,I have no clue. The only thing I know about BJJ is that you have to take some of those classes in order to gain higher rank.

  • so you cant take thai when you start? then what classes u take till they say you can take it?

  • They call it Core/MMA.But basically you do a lot of punching ,kicking, knee and elbow strikes.Working on the pads.Sometimes they'll throw in some ground work.Working on power and speed. Its really not that much different then the Muay Thai class except you don't do any sparring. You should stop by and watch some classes. The free class they give to people intersted.Doesn't really give a good enough taste of what they do.

  • Yeh but you can see how they do from watching, the program looks great tho!Theirs like testing and ranks?im sure they charge you for tests

  • no they don't charge extra for testing or for new belts when you get promoted.I don't know about brown or black belts. But everyone else gets their rank based on attendance and performance. We don't do kata's either so that's another thing I like about this school.

  • LOL dude its MMA,katas you kidding? haha,no charges for testing...wow...im getting screwed then haha, looks great tho....cant i just do 1 program and get charged for that program at a cheaper membership?

  • Yeah well I know other schools that use mixed forms of martial arts. And you have to do kata's.

You could probably just do the core classes but you probably wouldn't get promoted past orange belt if you didn't do the other classes.

But it's still a business so maybe you could negotiate something.

  • Mixed forums what you mean?what other schools in the area?

  • I took my free trial lesson the other day. (FYI I am DEFINITELY joining next week, no matter what, price wise). From what Sifu told me, I recognize the $179 a month number, as well as the $229 number. But where did you get the $110 a month from?

I was told 6 months would cost ~$967 (roughly $161 a month). How did you get it down to $110 a month?

  • looks like a good gym!
