  • This is a great video

  • there should be an audio of whats going on?...

  • 19 people wants gangrene.

  • OSMOSIS JONES!!!

  • It would be nice if i knew that each step is??

  • Was there supposed to be audio?

  • Calling air support!

  • Dam! How do they find their way?

  • @douvil The brain sends messages to the site of the infection, red blood cells check eachother to see if they are infected, and if they are they send messages to the brain, and the brain sends messages to the troops ( white blood cells ) to kick some ass.

  • @Southpark124

You really need to take some basic biology. Leukocytes are attracted to infections by demonstrating taxis. You also do realize that the nervous system is the only type of tissue that allows transmission of messages right? If erythrocytes were able to send/receive messages we wouldn't be able to get sick.

  • @jakubgt1

yea that's only partially correct. There is plenty of communication in biological systems outside of the direct neuronal communication. Leukocytes (T helper cells specifically) release cytokines upon encountering pathogens which directly stimulate phagocytes to increase phagocytosis (engulfing the foreign material). That is only one relevant example but nature is full of communication...

  • @svski4512

Phagocytosis is never enhanced... it's always the same. It either works or it doesn't. T(h) also never interact with a pathogen aside from its antigens. Anti-gen presenting cells are the ones that engulf the pathogen and present the fragments with MHC class II on its surface for the T(h) lymphocytes. The T(h) cells proliferate and secrete cytokines that activate T(c) cytotoxic lymphocytes, B cells, and macropahges. Our body does more killing with our T(c) cells than phagocytes...

  • OUT OF MY WAY, I'M A NEUTROPHIL!

  • @mynicknameissimsim ERM WHAT THE...

  • too bad there is not a mean soundtrack to go with it!

  • 1:40 It looks like a mothership landed and is deploying troops to combat the enemy

  • immune of warcraft??!

  • they are warriors

  • There needs to be some Starfox music at the beginning. Look at that cell go!

  • If you guys really wanna beef up your immune system, you should try this juice I'm drinking!

It gives your white blood cells a coat of armour & a machine gun!

Just go to juiceberg's channel & ask them about it!

  • no it is DIAPEDESIS not chemotaxis because neutrophil leaves the bloodstream and enters the affected tissue...

chemotaxis is the process by which neutrophil and other WBC is attracted by the secretion of foreign body cells......

  • i dont think you would find the rabies virus cute at all

  • Through university i have learnt that neutrophills are first to the site..

  • Neutrophils are the first cells to respond, not macrophages. Macrophages' primary role is antigen-presentation and phagocytosis of pathogens (antigen-presentation following phagocytosis).

Macrophages do play a role in the inflammatory response by secreting mediators, but that's about it.

  • I'm not so sure that is the case. Macrophages are the first responders in mediating the clearance of necrotic tissue and/or invading pathogens present at inflammatory sites. This is because they are already in the tissue. However the activation of macrophages leads to processes that actively recruit neutrophils and monocytes to the site of inflammation. These chemokines and cytokines are the mediatiors that then recruit the neutrophils.

  • Medium Robbin's for pathology chapter 2 gives the explanation!

  • need narration to understand this better....

  • Narration with explanations would help...

  • I think that the green thingies that stick up from the endothelial cells are various selectin molecules. When the cell first gets injured, the macrophage are the first to respond. A part of their response includes sending off chemokine TNF-alpha (which would induce chemotaxi and cause tight adhesion) and also IL-1. In response to those 2, there would be an upregulation in the endothelial cells of selectin molecules, which are adhesion molecules that would attract and bind to leukocytes.

  • macrophage are the first to respond ??

I thought that neutrophil are the first defense line

  • The endothelial upregulation of adhesion proteins at inflammatory sites represented in the video I would assume be ICAM-1, VCAM, CD99, perhaps V-cadherin? It looks like integrins are being represented at the point of PMN adhesion, making the cell "glow". What is this integrin subtype? Also, does anyone know what PMN proteins are being shed upon integrin adhesion? Is this SIRP alpha being represented of are there other molecules being proteolytically digested to promote extravasation?

  • subhanallah, maha suci Allah yang menjadikan setiap benda dengan uniknya fungsi dan peranan masing-masing.

  • huh?

  • WHAT DO ENDOCANNABINOIDS DO?

"Relax, eat, sleep, forget and protect"

    Dr. Di Marzo

PHYSIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS & CONDITIONS AFFECTED BY ENDOCANNABINOIDS (a partial list)

Appetite/feeding, Blood pressure, Cerebral blood flow, Digestive system, Emesis & nausea, Immune system, Inflammation, Memory, Mood, Movement, Neuroprotection, Pain, Reproduction & Stress

    Dr. Mechoulam

  • i don't see anything...

  • some narration would have been GREAT

  • I find cells da cutest thing on earth

  • the body is an amazing thing :)

  • and I find them the most deadly, stable yet fragile.

  • @19Cadence *gives u some balls*

  • Gee!

    Now, we all get it.

  • CANCER CURE = RICK SIMPSON'S HEMP OIL

  • wow. one thing I never thought about -- how do they propel themselves? especially against the current? they don't have flagella ....

everybody take a moment each day to thank your white blood cells for the kick ass job they do!

  • oh i see, the illustration has them rolling along the surface ... "adhesion." that's f'n amazing.

  • neutrophils move towards the site of infections by using a movement known as diapedesis.

during diapedesis, molecules bound to the neutrophil bind to receptors on the endothelium. This basically makes the WBCs "walk"...

also, heparin and histamines facilitate their movement through blood vessels by making the vessel larger and preventing coagulation :)

    hope that helped!

  • so whos the good guy?

  • I dont get it... What was the thing like a ball which had some kind of nails around? Was it neutrophil? Or was it a virus? ( 1:27 )

  • it was a neutrophil because of the way the nucleus looked.

  • How do get the footage of 0:16 with a microscope/camera combo?

  • CANCER CURE = HEMP OIL

  • there are lots of cancer cures. because, what kills cancer is to create a cancer-unfriendly condition in the body and most natural substances essential to the body are unfriendly to cancer. cancer is a disease that can only thrive under unnatural conditions.

cancer is so easy to kill (safely and naturally) that the REAL danger is killing it too fast. if you can do that, you can die from the toxicity of too many dead cancer cells and toxins floating around in your body!

  • I work in Oncology/Haematology, please explain your cure?

  • Rick Simpson's Cancer Cure is Cannabis extract full of Cannabinoids including THC.

Ask any Oncologist if Cannabinoids kill Cancer Cells!

  • "What I see in Nature is a magnificent structure that we can comprehend only very imperfectly, and that must fill a thinking person with a feeling of "humility." This is a genuinely religious feeling that has nothing to do with mysticism". (Albert Einstein)

    -

  • What?

  • i wish this was narrated

  • wht they did not put a atext explaining each step!!!!

    it woud have been better!!

  • It is sad that aabaruff's comment is rated -6. It has a great point. Religion is far away from science. Rating aabaruff's comment poor is probably because of wishful thinking. Nobody commented a scientific explaination of how somebody can get pregnant by magic, and not by fucking or adding sperm.

  • Science also shows that god guy's imperfection. You can't just use good things as proof of God. Are bad things like glasses proof that God isn't real? Some people might say that glasses are necessary because of Satan, but there are probably somebody saying that it is because of Loki, Set, ghosts, or angry woodo spirits of doom. This is just a result of natural selection and randomness. Please don't drag your perfect but not perfect God into it.

  • No, you're wrong. It is Odin who is real, but Loki created other religions to reduce Odins power. Those who seek Odin will find that he is truth. Stop being arrogant. I know that I'm right because my viking mother told me so.

Seriously, dude. People are saying that shit about all the other religions too. I have a reason to be arrogant. Science shows that all religions are impossible and false. Stop the wishful thinking and wasting of your life believing in those unprooveable superstitions.

  • Sorry, I meant that science kinda shows that all religions are impossible and false. Science can't disproove the existence of the green unicorn standing behind me.

  • I feel like such a geek watching this.

    But i'm rather dumb.

  • a curious mind is better than one that is dead stuck in its ignorance... i don't think ur dumb though i sure hell don't know who u r, but just....not knowledgeable by these kinds of fields?... dumb is a dumb word when it doesn't accurately define a person's intellect...a dumb person for not knowing math yet brilliant in sports calculating its intuitive physics? a dumb person for not knowing science yet is brilliant in music?...

  • moron

  • Nor would she be a virgin if the literal translation were used in the goodbook..."Mary with the cherry", lol...

  • Go our defense system! :) woot woot!

  • lol white cells RULES!!

  • I am such a geek for giving you a thumbs up!! Go WBC's!!!

  • so.... whats your point.

  • looooooool you are my hero

  • Comment removed

  • This video is ok. You really need to UP the resolution on parts of the video as its not clear.

  • About the "stream" effect.. are those erythrocytes rushing past the leukocytes?

  • yes

  • hmm... how fast does it move? i mean the speed.

  • absolutely stunning, incredible, my only wish is that there was some commentary to go along with the brilliant images, thanks for posting.

  • ar man,... every where i go the god debate arises. This is science man, cant we just leave it to that (i am a active atheist by the way, but theres a time and a place)

  • YES BUT HOW DOES IT KNOW HOW TO GET THERE ITS GOD I TELL YOU GOD

    SARAH PALIN 2012

    Just kidding.

  • You made me laugh my ass off, KoroOutbreak! XD

  • Too bad there is no audio, great vid!!!

  • "this is .. madness"

    "no.. this is.. AORTAAAA"

  • such an amazing vid! haha... help me to study for my histology exam... med school rocks

  • wow,such a beautifully made clip.thanks a lot.White cells are so intelligent.....

  • mdcolinis is correct!

    Very nice video!

  • this operation is called chemotaxis

  • correct. I have tried to edit the title, youtube wont have it.

  • I disagree Chemotaxis is the process after the extravasation, in this video we can see the vasocontstriction who makes that th neutrophil have contact with the epithelium injuried(by microorganism, the rolling (theneutrophyl rolling in the epitelium) the diapedesis (the Neut, passin through the epitelium) the chemotaxis is the last part of this video is in the tissue after extravasation the neutrophyl is te atraction of the Neutrophyle to the microorganism. i´m sorry my english!

    Saludos!

  • chemotaxis is a part of the acute inflammation.. this movement of neutrophil has five steps:

    1. margination

    2. rolling

    3. adhesion

    4. transmigration

    5.chemotaxis

after moving out from the blood vessel the neutrophil moves towords the antigen according to cocentration gradient inside the extra cellular matrix..chemotaxis occurs from 1:58 in this video! anyways its a nice animation. thanx alot for the upload =)

  • its a nice, relistic and good video , congrats!

  • It's really realistic!!! Perfect.

  • Merci Beaucoup!!! Vraiment Superbe!

  • is that really our body? woah. thats weird...

  • Congratulations for you video. Its wonderful!

    Dra.Luciana Cini

  • This is incredible...

  • This is great, now can you show an autoimmune response, where the body's immune system screws up and causes any one of over 80 autoimmune diseases?!

  • very good voyage! The speed in this video make the diference!

    Please see my demoreel!

    thanks

  • wow the detail of our creator made us sooo complex..the complexity alone proves that there must be a creator.

  • God isnot exist

  • How you would be designed if there is not a disigner every thing in this workd has a designer think of it then tell there is no GOD!!!

  • you are a idiot,& you dont have the mind to see and understand the small interaction of energy in the moleculary scale, and the forces of atraction the DNA, is the Key to understand this, . and i am sure that your god exist as do odin zeus thor and all gods in the world that be only a illusion of human race.

  • who makes this interactions happen? your mind doesnt exict too.. because i dont see it..

  • you see with your mind, fool!, this interaction each of this cell are maked for this the DNA is "who" makes this possible, the evolution, first live organism were DNA or (RNA is the most probably)you need open your mind.

  • so you are an atheist or scientologist ok thats fine so. choose among the two question for you is right

1)Human exist because of God created man

2)God exist because of Human created God

you guys always saying foul words are reflection of what's the world on a primitive world. PM if you want to debate on God let see or may be you can influence me that there is no God. I will wait for your PM

  • Por favor mrry77, no generes discusión; esto es un tema cientifico. Aqui no caben los asuntos religiosos!

  • you are a foul that cant understand the beatifull process of the live, and the interaction between the energy,. fuck your god.

  • For all of those people stated god as inventor, lol I guess that if the being does exist he must have created AID/HIV, Cancer's etc. How loving is that? anyway, The bible never mentions the word lymphocyte or does it? How about DNA, RNA mRNA, cytotoxin, etc. Science is how we are even able to argue over such these things from vast distances across the globe over TCP/IP via a browser running on a OS, installed on a computer invented by man.

The ability to question, is not religion, but science.

  • Estoy de acuerdo contigo, esto NO es un asunto religioso, sino cientifico. Por favor no discutan por motivos que no van con el tema del video.

  • wow, i can see you've read the bible.

  • oh i love the sound of sock puppets noisily yelling about how "The Hand" doesn't really exist...

  • Where did you get this video? please it is very important. I have to do a medicine test with this video

  • Very nice work! If you're interested in a job, my company is always looking for new talent. Do you have an online portfolio?

  • It would help if it had sound. It is difficult to figure it out what's happening.

  • amazing

  • Very cool
