I got a 1976 extended bed full( I'm talking 6 passenger bench seat full) four door cap, half a million miles a year ago, and it's still running. We have used it to pull a trailer with ten tons of feed several times from my home in SC to georgia and NC and back. The only thing we had to do was replace the transmission. It has a 454 in it that will smoke any truck this size, (as few as they may be.) now I got nothing against ford, but we have a ranger we can't keep running, a 350 we gotta plug up

Now before you Chevrolet fan boys blabber. I have NOTHING against Chevrolet. In fact I LOVE my 2001 chevy SILVERADO LT 4x4. But you know what?!?! But the BEST cars come truly from FORD!! I know they may have made a little dip 20 years back. But today I think is the BEST days for FORD. truly love and miss our old 1998 "FORD CROWN VICTORIA!" Man with that Crown Victoria it always had our backs, you could leave it unplugged in -45 maybe -48, overnight it will start right up-it was indestructible!

i got a 1991 chevy truck. been passed down from family all that has gone wrong with it is a transmission after 202,000 miles and changing the fluid when that has not been done for 5 years. but the motor ran on nothing but mobil 1 synthetic 5w 30. that truck i guarentee will make it easily over 1,000,000 miles. fords blow up in my driveway so take my advice and buy a chevy!!!

i test drove a ram with 94000miles and it was a1999 like my gmc it was the biggest piece

4x4 didnt work and when it did you cant move the damn thing

the engine was really small

and the tranny would not shift out of second gear radio didnt work air conditioning didnt work

engine sounded like it was gunna fall apart

so i bought a perfect condition gmc with more miles

at least buy a chevy car. gas isnt always cheap so its understandable that you might want sell your truck to get a cavalier, lumina, malibu, impala, ect. but....... if you buy an import, you will be a traitor of the highest order.

i had a blazer that i loved, but when gas got to be 4.30/gal i could no longer afford to drive it. i sold it and bought a solid southern 91 cavalier. strong little car. i like it almost as much as i loved my blazer. its still a chevy.

How are you a traitor for buying a car made from a foreign land.  Why should someone have to buy something just because it was made in there home country. You know there is a reason why people buy cars that are made in Japan and Europe. I own a Ford but I don't think that someone should be called a traitor for buying a Honda. 1974 chevy half ton... original motor.. and original tranny[with a rebuild back in the late 90s] been threw 3 generations... and still runs strong[400 sbcs are pretty famous for their short lifes... and thats what we havee is the 400 sbc...]over 300k miles on that thing...

My current Truck is a 93 GMC Sierra stepside, I love it its true dependable and tough! Its got 260989 org. miles on it! Theres something about GM that Toyota, FORD or DODGE can't touch I think it what is described in this video !

So many of these still on the road today and older... I have a '93 Silverado myself. Just short of 300,000kms and it's still got the original trans as well "The Truck That Lasts" is simply an understatement. "Friend for life" is almost more fitting.
