  • vegetarians are the most annoying people on the planet. God made animals for humans to be eaten. cows, chickens, pigs and deer are all ment to be eatin as wel as every other animal or fish on this planet. it is not inhumaine to hunt for deer or eat bacon or steakk or chickenn its natural and normal and the way God intended it. if ur slautering animals and leaving them to rot is another story and just wrong. if its for survival then it isnt and thats the way i look at it.

  • @ilovemynanook What if someone doesn't belief in god? Then who's to say slaughtering innocent animals is right when all of the obvious signs of it being wrong isn't hidden behind a someones religion? Dont ignore the obvious! Killing innocent animals is wrong just like killing an innocent person is wrong! Dont worry im vegetarian and the feeling is mutual about you bible banging bastards!

  • Japan-bashing bullshit...

  • SAVE BAMBI!!! STOP MINDLESS HUNTERS? KILLING DEERS, BEARS, WOLVES!!!! LET THEM EAT COW INSTEAD.

SAVE? DOLPHINS IN NORWAY? AND DENMARK! SAVE SHARKS IN NEW ZEALAND AND ICELAND!!!!

save the planet without fueling hate/racism/discrimination.

  • It's about animal rights isnt it? smart or dumb, they should all have equal rights. how many animals (from rats to monkeys) do we put to death for the profits from pharmaceutical and other researches? Don't forget the massive number of dogs and cats we kill everyday because we can't take care of them. how about the animals we hunt for kill joy? if this is how we treat our animals, who r we to tell others what to do? i just hope this doc is about animals n not racism in disguise. Shame.....

  • Cows aren't dolphins.

  • @jphameezy Cows aren't dolphins ? But they are both animals. That's the point here.

  • @NKWIA12

We have a responsibility to, within our best judgment, stop cruelty of intelligent animals. There is always an uneasy balancing job to do here, it's about weighing the pros and cons. How smart do we think these animals are? I agree the best situation would be to stop all animal cruelty, if we can reproduce their benefits another way, but we can't.

We rely heavily on beef (which btw has no mercury content), chicken, laboratory mice, etc.

  • @jphameezy Intelligent animals ? John C. Lilly (1915-2001) : He was the first scientist who made a hypothesis of human-dolphin communication ability and its self-awareness. Since then, new age groups started adopting his theory. BUT his hypothesis has never being proven so far. People love to make stories, books, dramas, movies... But they are not based on the facts. Mercury ? Do you know the difference between a pollution case like Minamata disease and natural mercury in sea water ?

  • @NKWIA12

Are you vegan? If not, you're a killer!

And yes, I said intelligent animals. There are goldfish and then there are chimpanzees. There are mice and then there are dogs.

I don't understand the relevance of the question about the difference between mercury in food and mercury in sea water.

  • @jphameezy Mercury in food ... Marine creatures other than dolphins, many of them contain a fair amount of mercury, like tuna, salmon, sword fish, bonito... So that means, someone eats tuna sandwich or fish & chips or any other seafoods very often like fat Americans eat like pigs, is more dangerous than someone eat a slice of dolphin meat once or twice a month. It's not black or white issue. It's about moderation.

  • @jphameezy Vegan ? Well, they are green killers. Unlike dolphins, pigs can understand human words, but they are killed for food. Can you answer why ?

  • @NKWIA12

No, I cannot answer why. Seems like you have a point here. I think there should be actions taken to ensure that there are enough dolphins in the ocean, with the appropriate genetic diversity. That is all.

With Pigs, I can count them. We have the ones we eat bred in captivity, while the wild ones are left alone. Maybe some kind of ocean dolphin farm would be appropriate, in that you get to keep killing and eating dolphins but not effecting (hopefully) the native numbers of them

  • I agree we do the same to cows.

  • Some people eat dolphins & whales.

Just get over it, cow eating Christian Hypocrites!

  • @NKWIA12

Yes, and that's why they have deformed children. Next.

  • @NKWIA12 You're right - but I'm just glad I've never killed or eaten dolphins. With a 1000 times more mercury in them than is safe, it is also a bad idea to eat dolphins. Any animal we kill is unhappy so what should we do?

  • @FrekeOne It's not 1000 times but 4 times. If it were 1000 times, the people in Taiji must have been all dead. What should we do ? Eat grass, but do not force it on others.

  • @NKWIA12 YEAH!!!!! THIS IS WHY PEOPLE KILL ANIMALS BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU ... TELL THAT TO THOSE POOR ANIMALS THAT ARE BEING SLAUGHTER EACH DAY ... THERE IS NO WORSE EXAMPLE OF HUMAN BEING THAN THOSE WHO TREAT ANIMALS LIKE THAT .. Better yet!!!! let's stop eating animals, let's stop the slaughter of those poor animals...THERE IS OTHER SORTS OF FOOD STOP BEING SO SELFISH ...ENOUGH!!! GO VEGAN :)

  • @dolphin13ify Shut up and eat your grass for the rest of your life, but just don't impose your belief on others. It's only a belief like the bible.

  • Let us see how the Americans abuse cows and horses in a rodeo just for fun.

    Hypocrisy !

  • @NKWIA12

'Minamata disease' was caused by pollution in the water (severe mercury poisoning). High levels of mercury caused children to be born deformed, and we should never forget this. Eating a cow and eating a dolphin are two very different things. A cow is raised from birth for the intention of being eaten, we have set standards for the quality of the meat that is sold to consumers. The kill methods are also more efficient than the average dolphin slaughter.

  • @lilbluependragon " A cow is raised from birth for the intention of being eaten " ??? How about tuna, salmon, alfonsin... ? Are they raised from birth in your country ? " The kill methods are also more efficient " ??? You mean electrical stunning ? Oh, boy...

  • @NKWIA12

Commercial fishing is having a huge impact on the environment, lots of fish here are actually bred in fisheries. The meat is safe, unlike most whale meat. I have a problem with an animal this intelligent being ruthlessly killed and completely driven out of parts of the ocean. Most fisherman at least have a respect for the seas and its wildlife. These fisherman see a really big fish, nothing more.

  • @lilbluependragon " lots of fish here are actually bred in fisheries " ??? Which fish are you talking about ? Tuna, salmon, bonito,alfonshin....?

  • @NKWIA12

Salmon, carp, catfish, trout, bass and most other freshwater fishes are bred in fisheries here. Fish like Tuna have to be wild caught or imported.

  • @lilbluependragon That's right. You can not raise big fish in fisheries. Do you know those big fish in the wild contain a fair amount of mercury ?

  • @NKWIA12

Yes they do, but not the high amounts of mercury found in animals at the top of the food chain such as whales. I personally don't eat hardly any seafood and the state that I live in isn't big on seafood either. I've never ate Tuna or Salmon, not a big fish eater. There aren't many whales left, and I'm afraid that no one will care until they are almost all gone. They are very important and it would be a shame to lose them to things like 'tradition' and pollution.

  • @lilbluependragon Many of big fishes, like tuna, salmon, alfonsin, swordfish, bonito....contain a fair amount of mercury. And many of middle sized fishes contain a little. So that means, someone eats tuna sandwich or fish&chips or any other sea foods very often like fat Americans eat like pigs, is more dangerous than someone eats a slice of dolphin or whale meat once a month. It's not black or white issue. It's about moderation.

  • @NKWIA12

A lot of people don't even know they are eating dolphin because they have to package it differently or people won't eat it (why? because it's a dolphin). Fat Americans? Now that's funny. Cow eating Christians? Even funnier. Stop trying to insult for a minute. I find it hard to believe they only eat dolphin once a month because of the mercury. Their practices are deceptive. People don't eat dolphin for the same reason most people don't eat horses, cats, or dogs. There is no need for it

  • @lilbluependragon " A lot of people don't even know they are eating dolphin because they have to package it differently " ??? You can not do that. It's illegal to do that. I have never eaten dolphins before but whales. It tastes completely different than beef or pork, so stop being nonsense. " People don't eat dolphin for the same reason most people don't eat horses, cats, or dogs" ??? most ??? Some people eat those animals in Asia. So ? You want them to be like you, right? Why?

  • @NKWIA12

Do you eat dolphin? Have you ever seen a dolphin before? How much do you know about the animal?

  • Cove crew is all criminal and racist. They are going to destroy tiny industry of small village Taiji Japan and devastate their history and culture for money. This is great crime toward humanity. Cove crew is just completely against ethics.

  • @chrysan6128

They offered the fisherman that harvested the dolphins a deal. They told the fisherman that if they were to keep their boats docked during the dolphin season that they would pay them the same amount they would have gotten if they were to actually harvest the dolphins. They declined. It has nothing to do with 'history or culture', the meat is also bad for people. What you are saying makes little sense.

  • @lilbluependragon It is of course that fishermen declined their proposal. Taiji people have been making livelihood with dolphins for more than 400years. There is nothing to do with money. This is their way of life and living style. Who has the right to deny their way of life. That`s none of your business. Dolphin-hunting in Taiji is going under the permission and strict control. They realized sustainable fishing. This is the best system toward mother earth.

  • @chrysan6128

Those people torture the dolphins, they use methods that are beyond cruel for capturing and killing them. Did you watch 'the cove' and see how the fisherman were laughing at the one dolphin that was trying to escape the nets. They have no respect for nature whatsoever. The meat is terrible for you, why should we let them continue this? ('tradition' or not) Why can't they make it their 'tradition' to ship out and catch fish instead (which are better for you btw).

  • @chrysan6128

It might have been a cool thing to do 400 years ago when the meat would not have been tainted and dolphins were an easy food source, but times change. We are better than that now, we SHOULD know better. How many of those fisherman think dolphins are fish? Probably all of them.

  • The director of Cove made the safe way to get the fame and money with insulting Japan. Cove crew are destroying people`s lives and families for money. Nobody could explain who has the right to destroy the tiny village Taiji.

  • Cove is a propaganda movie against Japanese. Nobody in the world could answer the reason why against only Jpanese. Dolphins are hunted in many countries in the world. We can see the many dolphin- hunting scenes in you-tube.

Cove crew is destroying their lives and families in Taiji for money. For profit cove crew is devastating the culture and tradition. This is just completely against humanity.

  • there's a fine line between culture and history. yes, the japanese have eaten whale for years, and i respect that. however, it was more historical than cultural. it's not like, "a baby was just born let's go eat the traditional whale." it was more of a thing where they would hunt whale during a certain time of the year when it would HAVE to be a primary food source.

  • @198taigo tradition is not an excuse to stop human conscious to evolve, if it were we would still hit women in the head and bring them to caves to have sex under the excuse of "tradition", your posting is essential stupidity.
