I can't believe how happy I was when the O-man was elected. I was just leaving the Army, and I thought this was gonna be the man to end the war and save the Republic... What a tragedy.
1. The mess we are in was caused by Americans taking out mortgages they could not afford, and by financial institutions careless enough to invest in returns from these bad loans (not Bush).
2. Democratic social programs invoking the "right" to housing removed the fear of consequences for bad investment and encouraged them (not Bush).
3. Bush was president when this happened and should have addressed the gravity of the situation he did not cause (sort of Bush).
4. Democrats controlled Congress for the last 2 years of Bush's term when the crisis occurred and had the sole power to prevent it (not Bush)
5. None of Bush's long term actions over his eight year period can be pointed to as the root cause of the crisis (so no. It did not take 8 years to do this damage)
6. I don't expect Obama to fix everything in a year. I expect him to stop making it worse.

And yes the initial assumption of WMDs was wrong but that was only one of the reasons we invaded, and he took down a brutal dictator who killed millions of people. And my brother is in the army and he said everyday he found bombs, weapons, and strategic plans to attack Americans, so it was the right thing to do.

1. The mess we are in was caused by Americans taking out mortgages they could not afford, and by financial institutions careless enough to invest in returns from these bad loans (not Bush).
2. Democratic social programs invoking the "right" to housing removed the fear of consequences for bad investment and encouraged them (not Bush).
3. Bush was president when this happened and should have addressed the gravity of the situation he did not cause (sort of Bush).

@marcelbrabson Obama has created in 1 year a deficit bigger than the combined deficits of the entire previous 8 years of bush combined. When Regan came in he was given a recession from Carter, when Bush came in he was given a recession by Clinton, when JFK came in he was faced with a recession. All three pulled us out in a year with the same method, tax cuts. When unemployment was 6% under Bush people were screaming, at 10% under Obama and no one challenges him. Obama is simply incompetent.

He has numerous ammendments made to a bill the day its gonna be passed through the senate and when the senate asks for a copy of the ammendments then they are denied a copy. The guy is just a crook.
