  • My parents got their first PC in the early 90's (a x486 with a whopping 25Mhz). So of course I had Stunts. :D

  • Another blast from the past. This was the game you play when Wolfenstein would give you sore eyes.

  • you didn't say happy gaming at the end of the video! :O

  • oh wow, this looks like something i have to try. I love mission editors!

  • Looks just like Hard Drivin' for the Genesis, but better.

  • This game is the TrackMania of the MS-DOS age.

  • This was one of the best games of the 90'. Great 3D game... classics. And my children birthdays parties

  • TrackMania.

  • Well this was a pleasant surprise. I haven't heard of this game in years and I remember playing it a lot back in the day.

  • There are still today, World Champion Competitions for this Game :)

  • trackmania origins :D

  • by the way, when I say it's freeware now, I'm not lying.

It was OKed as abandonware/freeware by the dev/publisher in the mid 2000s so don't feel guilty about installing dosbox and popping it in.

  • Anyone who is watching this and has never played it. This is one of those games that in this video looks pretty shitty, graphically, but average gameplay wise. The kind of game that, while skeptical, you feel you have to take their word for it.

But trust me, this game is AWESOME. It's STILL awesome. It's one of those games that you just can't understand why it's so awesome until you just play it and FEEL how polished and ahead of it's time it is.

Grab dosbox and try it, it's freeware now.

  • and if something is rear ended, it goes off like a rocket.

  • haha, yeah Skid Vicious!

  • I do remember this one, but i wasn't very good.

  • I have SO much more respect for you now. I NEVER see anyone mention Stunts.

But that's not it.. I REALLY never see anyone mention 4d Boxing. Not even people who review PC games.

These games were INCREDIBLE. Countless hours playing both.

You, mamn, are the fucking queen.

  • I loved that game, back when it first came out I spent a full day just building tracks so addictive.

  • make a review of super scope :D

  • I was trying to figure out this game's name since ages, I've been playing it when i was 5 :) I'll shed a tear now. Thanks for the review that refreshed my memories.

  • hhahahaaha, love that game.... sometimes the car stayed in the air for minutes and minutes... :/

if u wanna try a "cool" game, try barbarian... use the dosbox like a 386, and plz, for just 1 time play the game with pc speaker XD

    aksjaksjaksjakjsas, so funny ><

but its hell to control it :/

and try to do the alone in the dark serie... thats the true father of the survival horror games, plus u really had to think about some puzzles

    cya, srry the lame english

  • Wow .. I used to play this game like crazy, when I was a kid ...

Awsome track editor ... I spend hours making my own tracks...

I got a copy of the game from my friend on a couple floppy discs that had almost a 1000 user created tracks ...

GOOD TIMES.. :) Great review, Keep up the good work :)

  • I just got a sealed copy of this game

  • Carefree times...I remember you could win the race by turning around at the beginning. Still laughing 20 years later

  • iz u canandian?

  • I used to LOVE this game when it came out. It's so cool that you covered this! Great job!

  • are you from Canada? "all aboot" :D

  • lol, awesome I was looking for this game a log time (cry) a lot of NOSTALGIC =) I didn't remember the name only 4D... something, but now STUNTS ! YEEESSS!

    10x a lot Rinry ;)

  • I love this game! The first time I ever played this was on a black and white laptop in 1990 or 1991! Later I did get it onto my own 368 (I think), I played this a lot with my friends. This game sure aged well, in the late 90's I was still competing against a friend, we made tracks and sent em over mIRC and had a blast trying to beat out each other times, oh those were the days! You are making great vids, keep it up!

  • THIS IS A REVOLUTION OF GAMES

  • nedd for speed shift eat your heart out

  • the way she says skid vicious is classic

  • This game still deserves a sequel!

  • omg, i played this game a lot. i love your videos rinry

    greetings from Brazil

  • This is like Trackmania only MUUUUUCH older.

  • wait so shes with retro tv with mcfrosticles!

  • Fuck yeah, Stunts!

  • I totally forgot about this game! :D

  • awesomeo

  • This is just like the modern-day Trackmania!

  • ooow! the best racing game ever! <3

  • make a new video faster !!!!!!!! FASTER !!!!!!!!

  • Nice game i don´t know which the game was i play as a child, it was on atari or dos pc, i guess it was stuntdriver.

  • Aw, thought this was for Stunt Car Racer at first! Never played Stunts but it looks similar to what I grew up with! Your video made me blissfully nostalgic!

  • I get butterflies in my stomach every time i watch one of your videos.

  • so this is where mod nation racers got the idea from huh.

  • gee how I loved it!

I remember I used to create maps, record on a 5 1/4" disk and play at a friend's cousin PC! My maps were all called "vini #", from 1 to 389 lol

I sugest some abandonware that I used to love, like Billy The Kid, Road Rash, Maniac Mansion..!

  • I think I played this game....If I remember correctly, if you get a time record it actually saves you driving the track...anybody else who tries to beat that record is actually racing against a "ghost" car of the record holder. I think that was in this game....wasn't it?

This game made me remember another driving game for the 286 called Test Drive 3, one of the earliest games I can remember on the PC.

    BTW, great videos....love them. =)

  • Do you have a boyfriend?

  • Haha, love your canadian accent :D

  • great review, I have two games on my computer: TankWars (aka BOMB), and Stunts!

  • Yes! TankWars!! Such a simple but addicting game.

  • yeah i used to play tank wars back than together with a friend in front of my pc for hoooours :D

  • @blenderuser WankWars! I remember playing that game. I also remember a game just like this called Hard Driving.

  • This game was AWESOME! I kept playing it at a friend's place as I didn't have a PC and it's been a top racing game for a long time. Games with greater graphics eventually came out be this game's gameplay and overall features made it especially nice to play.

  • reminds me of streets of sim city. I loved that game!!! p.s. i love her voice, its cute and warm

  • This was the favorite of my 586 in 1996. LOL.

  • I remember playing this when I was younger. It was a lot of fun (ESPECIALLY making crazy tracks with the editor).

The modern day equivalent to this seems to be "TrackMania United".

  • Reminds me of stunt race fx. I love old crazy polygon graphics sometimes.

  • merry me

  • it looks a lot like the game hard drivin

  • This was the lego of car games

  • Oh god. Thank you for reminding me of this game. I played a lot when I was a kid in my uncle's PC. It was damn awesome! :D

Most of the time I was building crazy tracks with crazy loops that I could never finish xD

  • This reminds me a lot of a game I played at The Franklin Institute in Philly when I was a kid. It looked pretty much the same, but adjusted itself as you were playing as if you were drinking, you know, "One Beer, Two Beers" and on and on. Eventually you'd be completely hammered and kill yourself in a fireball.

    What a subtle message LOL

  • There was an arcade version of this game (or one like it) by Atari, right? I remember playing a racing game that looked a lot like this back in the day.

  • You're probably thinking of Hard Drivin', which I don't believe was the same game.

  • Playing Trackmania Since yesterday and now this video in my inbox. Feels like it had to be this way. :D

  • I remember playing this game at a friend's house. He would go downstairs and I would build a (near impossible) track full of surprises. Then he would play it.

This game was pretty impressive for its time.

  • i love the old school graphics!

  • I enjoy all of your videos. Can't wait for the next one.

  • this game was balls.

  • Man, this game is so awesome.

  • Rinry, you are awesome for having played this game!!

  • Ok, I have to favourite this video because I never want to forget the name of this game again. My brother and I spent hours designing tracks for this game. As another poster put it "nostalgia bomb!"

  • So Trackmania is a modern version of Stunts? I didn't know that... well til now. Thanks rinry :D

  • WOAHHH RINRY NOSTALGIA BOMB

    i couldnt remember the name of this game so thank you for making this vid! so much time spent on this game ;;

  • Oh I had this game on 3.5" floppy disk. It was the best

  • great review love games that you can customize, never played pc games back then its a shame

  • Lol my grandparents had this on their computer when i was young its the best!

  • You should do a game review for OMF (One Must Fall)

  • Maybe.... loved that game when I was a kid :D

  • Whoa nostalgia rush! I spend hours playing that game!

  • Uncontrollable acceleration? So they're toyatas?

  • cutest voice ever

  • Watch out for those killer cacti! (Hey Dude reference.)

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

oooohhh yeah, i remember that show, i wish it was the 90's!

  • the last line Rinry says about playing it 10 years after it came out and again 20 years after it came out made me realize how old I am..

  • lol this is awesome! yeah like everyone else i found this game on midway treasures or whatever...

  • I used to play this game all the time. I loved making tracks that made the opponent AI always crash. It was always hilarious.

This game always seemed like an upgraded Hard Driven game to me.

  • Epic! Great quickie!

  • That game was awesome. I need to find this again.

  • This game looks a HELL of a lot like Hard Drivin'...

    Is this a sequel?

  • @pocketmego

Looks like the same engine. Funny I just realized I owned a copy of Midway Treasures III for Gamecube which has Hard Drivin' on it. Now i find this instead.

  • Those Midway arcade Treasures are so good. They need to start putting those out for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

  • Ah the memories. I spent hours and hours with the track editor. I remember one track i called "The Test" which was basically the mosy annoying and frustrating track ever. I just did everything in my way to make sure you could never gain any speed. Blockades, shark coners before loops that led into more blockades. My friends hated that track...i wonder why.

  • I remember this game having a rather annoying "copy protection".

The game prompted the player to type a specific sentence from the manual, and inability to do so would cause the car to crash a few seconds after start.

Otherwise this game had AWESOME graphics and incredible soundtrack!

  • that was great rinry, ill take a "quickie" with ya anytime.

  • My inner is crying right now, thanks Rinry!! Memories...

  • I remember this game, soooo many hours put in to this one. So much fun!

  • wow impressive grafics for a 1990's game

  • Hey rinry didnt they release the game too on the genesis? I swear i remember playing it on there at my cousins house?

    and awesome video

  • You're thinking of Hard Drivin', but I swear this is a sequel to that game or something, because it looks just like it.

  • @pocketmego

I think hard drivin is the sequel who knows but yeah it looks alot like it i dont remember the details but i remember the glass cracking like that and the cars blowing up but it didnt have the different cameras

  • Well this one moves as "fast" and smooth as the Arcade version of Hard Drivin'.

The Genesis version that you are remembering, plays a LOT slower. This is because the developers put this very 3D heavy game on a system with no 3D scaling ability with no special chips or anything added to the cartdridge, and they pulled it off. But, it ran very slow.

This, however runs much smoother and faster.

  • that was an awesome review. jot is hilarious with all his little added effects.

  • ohhh i remember this game, it was awesome :p

  • Great game

  • Never knew about this game, seems neat. Nice vid once again

  • Nothing like a editor for infinite replay value.

  • Ah the memories. Stunts & 4D Boxing. Great games.

  • This game reminds me a lot about Hard Drivin'.

    -kidThunder

  • Wasn't there a version of the game for the genesis?

  • This was one of my favorites games in the 90s!!!

  • hey i saw this video on your website its nice to see it agen :) <3

  • Great review, Rinry! I played this game a lot when I was a kid. It's very nostalgic to have a look at it again. Thx.

  • I played this game so much I loved it. I used to create all kind of crazy tracks. Glad to see other people actually know about Stunts.

  • You can see the Hard Drivin' influence, but at least they've done something a bit different with it, and the track editor looks like a great idea.

  • best retro game review channel i saw .... good on ya

  • this game reminds me of Trackmania.

  • I loved this game! I probably had 100 tracks saved....

  • I love this channel now.

  • are you canadian? all aboot stunts!!

  • i love this game

  • This game is pretty awesome, especially for a 1990 release. I've always been surprised how smooth the 3D graphics were on those old PCs.

This game is about seven hundred thousand times better than Hard Drivin' on the Sega Genesis.

  • Was Segas 'Hard Drivin' arcade game based on this engine or game? I played the hell out of that game and it looked very similar to this!

  • I see where TM has it's inspiration from.

    Another great quicky with Rinry!

    ....Wait.

  • Yea I remember this game! use to play it at lunch time in highschool religiously. Totally forgot about it until I saw this, thanks for the flashback!

  • awesome!! this game is great! 60x More Better Than ''Virtua Racing'''! Where can i buy this game?

  • its 20years old, there probably a place where you can down load it for free

  • i think sites like abandonia have this, just search dos games

  • Gosh. stunts was the greatest. i'm goin to go raid my basement and look for it now. :)

  • cool, game. I used to play it at a friend's house. You could also replay de race and view it from diferents angles.

  • great one!!!

  • Please do moar. Your videos are great.

  • Used to love playing this game when i was younger :) I was really frustrated at how fast your car broke down i remember :D

  • 1st comment! very nice rinry haha
