  • good review you and your wife should make more reviews toghther i laughed my ass off the whole review

  • The genre for these movies is also completely wrong. The animated movie got it right being a war movie. Not an alien invasion or a doomsday movie... a war movie. So you have Arcee dragging the dead. You have Patton-sounding lines. The villains have the upper hand a lot of the time, which makes the Autobots' victory at the end that much sweeter.

  • lolololololol, brilliant

  • autobot battles? yes please

    leg humping robots? hell no

  • I'm off to see TF3 in a minute and wanted a refresher on the 2nd one. Many thanks, you both made me smile with your comments most of which I agree with. Apart from Soundwave, it would have stretched my suspension of disbelief too far if he did turn from an iPod into a massive robot. I thought making him a comms satellite was a great idea and in keeping with his original role but yeah his voice did suck.

Anyway, cheers! I hope the 3rd one is better!

  • so a transformer can turn into a semi-tractor that is driven by humans, and u want there to be no humans involved!!! if there were no humans involved it would have sucked!!! use ur imagination cause they were smart on that subject!!

  • @izmaellg Way to completely miss the point. Humans had MINIMAL involvement in all the previous incarnations of the Transformers. There is no reason for them to have center stage in the current movies. It is, and always has been about the ROBOTS. It's not called "Humans" it's called "TRANSFORMERS"

  • Oh a co host, is that your miss's Zaranyzerak? I love your rants, class as always!

  • Yeah, Revenge of the Fallen was squirm around in your seat and debate about leaving bad. I felt like Nic Cage in 8MM. Our mouths were hanging open during much of it in disbelief at it's badness. You hit all the big stuff here that for me ruined any chance it had at being a good movie. Like you said, it's about the robots! Lots of Shia and his annoying parents, girlfriend and friends. Who cares? Make the Transformers look classic, edit out the humans go from there.

  • Holds up T2...

"Go watch this again... And then Shut The Fuck Up!!!"

    Another gem!!

  • @dukinhower I was just going to post that. More epicness from zaranyzerak!

  • My problem w/ this movie is that it's called "Revenge of the Fallen", yet he has less than 5 minutes of screen time. Also, a HUGE plot hole in this film: It's stated that "only a prime can kill the fallen", which doesn't make sense. Magatron (whose weaker than the fallen) kicked Optimus Primes's ass into next week, yet the fallen couldn't last two minutes against prime. Even if only a prime can kill the fallen, he should have lasted longer! With or without Jetfire's help, that makes no sense!

  • i can sum this review up into this coment:

    Leo was a bitch

    the robot designs are complicated

    megan fox is hot

    transformers should be unics

also the end part reminded me of what the resident evil movies did to the series of games

  • Great review. They need to reboot this franchise without Bay directing. I agree with all u said except Drag Me To Hell was dissapointing too.

  • youre both reacting to small things...they made this for Megan Fox

  • @Haxywaxy Lol! That sad thing is, you're probably not far off...

  • @optimegatrongodzilla I hate the designs in the TF movies. They're needlessly over complicated and half the time you can't even tell what you're looking at as a result. Look at the game "Transformers: War for Cybertron." That's a PERFECT example of how the design could have (and SHOULD have) been updated for the movies. And no, I won't censor the language in my rants.

  • YEAH, AND HOW DID FRANK WELKER LET THEM NOT FIX THE VOICE! DID HE NOT KNOW THAT THEY DIDN'T DO IT!

BY THE WAY, FRANK WELKER IS NOW THE VOICE OF GARFIELD AND DOES IT PERFECTLY!

  • DANG!!!! WHAT'S WITH ALL YOUR CURSING IN THIS ONE!!!! WHEN U PUT IT ON DVD, PLEASE MAKE THE LANGUAGE JUST BE FRICKIN' AND FREAKING INSTEAD OF THE F WORD!!!!

  • i like your xmen reviews

  • If I could give this movie a Z-Rating, it would be a 1/2 Z

  • i rented the film and was truly disappointed all my friends said you gotta check it out its better than the first one and it is a great action movie boy they were wrong

  • i'm not the biggest Transformers fan my dad loves it and has nearly all of them on dvd and i've seen alot of them but i agree with you with everything you said they really pissed me of. The first movie is good though but this film is crap half the movie

  • @ Zaranyzerak Read the comic book prequel to the movie, it explains why Bumblebee's voice is still a radio. By the way, it is possible that "The Fallen" is the movie version of "Unicron." Why? Transformers 3 is going to be the last movie in this series, and Unicron isn't going to be in ( As far as I know).

  • @TheComedylover1 Yeah, I know it's explained in the comic. That doesn't excuse it or make it "okay." They ret-conned it to keep the gimmick running. A gimmick that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the character as it has been known for 25 years.

  • @Zaranyzerak you should do a the last airbender review

  • ACTUALLY IT'S NOT THE LAST TRANSFORMERS AND STEVEN SPIELBERG IS IN LINE TO DIRECT IT!!!!

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!

  • @optimegatrongodzilla Where in the world does it say that? Or is it just a rumor that your trying to spread.

  • @TheComedylover1 IT WAS A TRANSFORMERS 3 UPDATE VIDEO, BUT I DON'T REMEMBER THE USER!

JUST TYPE "TRANSFORMERS 3 UPDATE BARRICADE"

  • @optimegatrongodzilla WHY WOULD ANYONE WHAT TO MAKE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE "BAYFORMERS" THEY HAVE BEEN SO FAR GETTING WORSE AND THIS ONE IS NOT LOOKING ANY BETTER!

  • @TheComedylover1 HOW DO U NOT LIKE THESE FILMS! WHAT IS WRONG WITH U!

    ONLY FLAWS:

    1.JAZZ BEING KILLED BY MEGATRON

2.MAKING THE AUTOBOTS AND THE CONS NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT WHERE THEY CAME FROM OR WHO CREATED THE ALLSPARK!

3.MAKING JETFIRE NOT KNOW OPTIMUS AND BEING AN EARLIER CYBERTRONIAN CHARACTER

4.NOT HAVING SOUNDWAVE IN THE FIRST ONE!

TRANSFORMERS 3: BEST MOVIE EVER MADE AS OF NOW, AND THE BEST TRANSFORMERS LIVE-ACTION MOVIE YET!

WATCH THE NEW TRAILER WITH LINKIN PARK'S "IRIDESCENT"!!

  • @optimegatrongodzilla YOU FORGOT ALL THE OTHER FLAWS:

    1. PUTTING THE TWINS IN THE MOVIE PERIOD!

    2.WHEELIE ANNOYING AS HELL!

    3.NO PLOT AND NO CHARACTER!

4.WHEN OPTIMUS DIED IN THE 1986 MOVIE KIDS WERE CRYING THEIR EYES OUT, IN THIS WHEN OPTIMUS DIED WHAT HAPPENED, NOTHING NO ONE CARED!

5.WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS MOVIE WOULD BE DARK AND SERIOUS, WHAT DID WE GET A MOVIE THAT IS 99% COMEDY AND 1% TRYING TO MAKE US GIVE A POOP ABOUT THIS MOVIE.

  • @TheComedylover1

6.WE ONLY GET THREE SCENES OF ROBOT ACTION, MAKING 10 MINUTES OF A 2 1/2 HOUR MOVIE.

    7.Y WERE SAM'S PARENTS KIDNAPPED?

8.Y IS BLACKOUT THERE WHEN HE SHOULD BE DEAD?

9.WHEN DID THE OTHER ROBOTS COME IN?

    10. DEVASTATOR IS MADE UP OF 6 ROBOTS. 2 ARE DEAD, 2 WERE CHASING SAM, 1 WAS FIGHTING BUMBLEBEE, 1 IS LEFT (THE HEAD) THEN WHY IS DEVASTAOR STILL COMPLETE!

    11. THIS MOVIE WAS AIMED TOWARDS KIDS, LISTEN TO THE LANGUAGE THE CHARACTERS USE!

12.Y IS SOUNDWAVE IN THIS HE HAD NO PRPOSE

  • @TheComedylover1

    13. Y IS MEGATRON NOT CALLED GALVATRON!

    14. WHERE IS THE DANG THEME SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "U didn't like Bumblebee's voice."

    "Baaua-bumblebee!"

    "I'll go get my slurpie"

  • My biggest problem with both of the Transformers movies was that the robots all look alike. Would it have killed the producers to at least have the right colors on the various characters. Like take Starscream, in every one of the shows and the comic books he is red, why not make him red in the movie so we can see who he is. I mean to any Transformers fan a red jet means oh there is Starscream. It would be so easy, why do all of them, expect for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, have to be gray.

  • @Venefica82 Too true! So whenever there was a crowd of them battling it out, you didn't even know how was fighting whom half the freaking time... In the cartoon it was clear, distinct, and completely OBVIOUS what the differences were. I really think the robots were way "overdesigned" for the movies. Haven't they heard of the K.I.S.S. rule? "Keep It Simple, Stupid!" But then, this IS Michael Bay we're talking about...

  • @Zaranyzerak I agree and if you look at the cartoon series, and the comic books, the robots where designed rather simply really, they where practical. I mean they where designed to break and be put back together again. Also when there is to many design elements the mind get confused about where to focus. But what bother me the most is the colorings, that almost all of them are gray. Also why the hell do Optimus Prime have a mouth? That just threw me off completely.

  • "This is the Trans-fuckin-formers!"-- Z, you're my hero.

  • i love you Zaranyzerak :D

  • yes i agree... too many skinjobs , meatbags..

  • I agree with every negative point you had about the movie. My biggest disappointment how ever was the Constructicons and Devastator. And I hated the fact Megatron bowed down to The Fallen. Megatron bows to KNOW ONE!

  • It's not suprising that this movie is a disappointment. Michael Bay films are of the cinematically vapid variety. Plus, the liscense is prepped and ready for an easy cash in. And since there is such a huge fanbase from the 1980's cartoon and action figure line, the studio only paints the plot of the film in broad strokes, ultimately missing the fine details that true fans will notice and cry foul about.

  • True, but wathcing my eyebrows grow and shed would be more entertaining than American Idol. I'd like to say my previous post is true of all film adaptations, but that would be false. Blade Runner, like Transformers 2, is loosely based on it's source material but it manages to succeed where Transformers 2 fails. And that is in directorial vision and overall plot.

  • I have an explanation for all of this. Michael Bay uses HIS LOGIC in making films. It's just that HIS LOGIC tells him to send Bruce Willis to an asteroid in space with a drill and a nuke to save the world.

  • Frank Welker!!

He's voiced so many of my favourite cartoon characters =]

  • i found it easy to see who was fighting but im a dork who has studied the robots haha lol

  • You can really live with one ball?!

  • I...don't really see why you need a 25 minute speech on why this movie was bad.

A 2.5 hour movie filled with nothing but explosions, gunfire, babes and shitty acting in completely random order is obviously....shit.

Transformers 2 looks like something that crawled out of a 12-year-old's fantasy dream and spewed itself all over the big screen.

Transformers 1 was GREAT. And then Michael Bay went fucking insane and killed his rep with Transformers 2.

  • Lol

  • There's already good points.

  • No, they overdesigned it simply because they COULD. And it looks like shit. You can't even tell what you're looking at half the time, let alone distinguish between the robot characters in a fight scene. It didn't need to be so over complicated, and it shouldn't have been. Not other version of Transformers in the past 25 years has been so horribly overdesigned.

  • It isn't "winning" it's a "review." I went to see it not EXPECTING it to be as bad as it was. At worst, I expected it would be a harmless, fun popcorn film with a few nods to the original cartoon much like the first one. Hard to know beforehand what you're in for with something like that. I can't get my money back AFTER the fact, so I give this in-depth review to prevent OTHERS from making the same mistake. All clear now?

  • Well, herein lies the conundrum - I like Transformers. Meaning, I've been a fan of the franchise since 1984. So I went to it expecting that it WOULD be something I would like that I could then talk about. The level of my disappointment warranted an in-depth analysis of WHY it was so disappointing. I agree that such movies are better off not being made, but I disagree that if we HAVE seen them we shouldn't talk about them unless we liked them. Reviews are opinion pieces, be they good or bad.

  • It's nothing to do with being "old fashioned," it was a poorly made film. Simply AS A FILM, Transformers or not, the STORY and CHARACTERS were poorly developed. If this is the new generation's "takeover," you can keep it. Because it sucks. Quite frankly, the "new generation" should demand MORE from their entertainment, instead of just rolling over and accepting whatever mindless crap Hollywood shoves their way. Oh, and I DID do a "good" part. It qwas the previous video.

  • And I hate to say it, but I've got a feeling that a vast majority of people (read: 95 percent) that didn't like the movie, didn't like the first one either for the same reason: because they don't like Michael Bay.

And apparently I'm pretty on the ball with this based on what I've read in the comments here and on countless other reviews.

  • I'm not overly familiar with Michael Bay's other films, so that wasn't even an issue with me. I didn't like it because I like Transformers, and didn't like what was done with the characters and story in the movie. It just didn't FEEL like Transformers. The first one was a lot more in tune with the source material, even though it strayed as well. But the second one just strayed off into completely ridiculous territory. I just didn't like it AS A TRANSFORMERS MOVIE, regardless of who made it.

  • After these movies, I can say that it has most definitely tainted whatever view I may have had of Michael Bay prior to them. And NOW, seeing what a horrible job he did with Transformers, I tend to be wary when I see his name attached to a project.

  • I wasn't necessarily saying you particularly, but yes. In general, a vast majority of the bad reviews came from people that don't like Michael Bay. And they make it painfully obvious that he carried alot of weight in the review.

You at least were able to give some legitimate reasons as to why you didn't like the movie (and some reasons that are admittedly a bit nitpicky). Alot of reviewers can't seem to even do that (including ones that I watch religiously).

  • I don't think I was nitpicky at all... I COULD have been nitpicky, but decided to focus on what I felt were legitimate problems with the film, and slaps in the face to the fans who have supported the franchise for the past 25 years.

  • Those are the ones that bring Michael Bay into it (dubbed Baysplosion by some of them). They also tend to bring Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox into it as well.

The other thing, and I appreciate you bringing it up, because I almost forgot about it. This is not the cartoon. It is not, nor was it ever trying to be the cartoon.

There are so many Transformers cartoons now that it's hard to figure out which continuity is considered official anymore, and I doubt kids care. This is the hard truth.

  • Believe me, I agree with you on almost everything you said. But I'm also a SatAM fan. I feel the same way when I see what Sonic's become over the years.

  • But unfortunately, there's not much I can do about it. So I just try to enjoy what's there.

  • Yes, there have been a lot of cartoons over the years, but the generally accepted opinion of fans is that the ORIGINAL series is the official canon. This was clearly meant to be based on G1, just updated a bit.

I don't buy this whole "it's not meant to be the same" B.S. That's just making excuses for it being a poor adaptation. There are TONS of examples of other movies adapted from long-running source material that were respectful of the source, AND made it accessible to new audiences.

  • I really wish that was the case with Sonic...

  • Yeah, it's always annoyed me that the hands down BEST Sonic series was the one that had the shortest run out of all of them... And don't get me started on what a steaming pile the GAMES have been in recent years. Thank god for the Sonic Mega collection - all (well, almost all) of the original, GOOD games on one handy disc.

  • Take some of the recent Marvel movies - Spider-Man, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, the first 2 X-Men movies. All have FAR longer running and more wildly varied continuities than Transformers, yet they were adapted into perfectly satisfying films that not only pleased most long time fans, but were accessible for new viewers who had no knowledge of the characters or comic stories. There is NO REASON AT ALL the same could not have been done with Transformers.

  • Yup the design sucked balls...

Devastator look uglier than a pile of shit.

Starcream is a pussy in this.

and the Fallen!? FUCK the fallen! bring Galvatron!

    and fuck you micheal bay.

and Mudflap and skid just top Jar Jar binks as the lamest cgi ever created.

  • I can explain why they use that camera-movement:

It will be used for the D-Box-feature on the BD, kinda like you demonstrated at 8:58.

Besides, Bay stole the moving-camera-conversation from Nolan I guess. XD

And on the Pyramid: Sandstorm... with B-Box-feature...

  • Man, the design of the Transformers was exactly what I was thinking the very first time I saw them clearly.

That was even back in late 2006 or something.

To me they kind of look like buildings, like the top of Chrysler Building or something.

But indeed, that they're so overly pointy and stuff.

I guess that's to make them more dramatic and "realistic" in the sense of all the moving parts to have them able to even transform or something you know.

I don't like it much either, while some look cool.

  • Freddy's Nightmares really was awful, I would have actually liked ti if it were about Freddy.

  • Actually, there were quite a few episodes that featured Freddy in the story. The very first episode showed his original trial and the events leading up to the mob of angry parents torching him. but yeah, the majority of episodes just had him as the host ala The Cryptkeeper or Rod Serling...

  • what about the fact there is a transformer discuised as a human?

  • I watched Freddy's nightmares last night LOL. And I love Freddy. But was still remembering how bad that serries was.

Do a review on the new NOES when it comes out next year since Michael Bay is doing that too. Prepare for more spinning cameras he does that on all his movies.

  • sommers2k8 you are such a douchebag. Z, I agree with the bad points of Transformers 2. I enjoyed it alot, but, I enjoyed the first one more.

  • Seriously, it's a damn movie. Quit flaming each other over it. I liked it, but not everyone else did. Get over it.

  • I called him a douche because of the part of his comment that said "so u can suck my cock bitches" not because of his opinion on the movie. I liked the movie, too..

  • Besides. There's worse things to complain about than Revenge of the Fallen. Much worse things (not counting the current state of our government and soon to be Union of North America).

There are things that are so horrendously bad that they make the Battlestar Galactica remake series look like Xenosaga in comparison. Mythical beasts of suckage that make the Roswell conspiracy comparable to the old, 'The dog ate my homework' excuse.

  • And for the record, the Battlestar Galactica remake is probably one of the worst TV shows I've ever seen (as well as one of the most depressing shows too). And I'm not just saying that because it rips off Xenosaga.

  • I don't know if I'd bash Michael Bay too much though. That guy's a few cans shy of a six pack, if you catch my drift.

  • sorry about what i said leonguy is right everyone does have there own opinion but it is a brialliant movie

  • everyone has their own opinion, and mine is that it was superior, but if someone has different feelings, then that's o k! everyone has their own opinion!

  • Wow, such a compelling counter-argument. I know I'm convinced.

  • Best Movies EVer, You're fucking kidding me right?

  • Stop fighting!

    *explodes*

  • Haha I love how you get al worked up :P

overall i actually really liked the movie , but ive never seen the cartoon one or read the comic so i have nothing to compare it to...i like how they show the humans alot because im not a big fan of action films...and i too love megan fox ...(and im a girl XDD)

  • I give it Z z

  • did not like the look of deverstater looked more like a power ranger zord , why do they have to change so many good things like the voices(soundwave and megatron) and looks. and i hated the woman transformer. they cramed to many robots into the film and they all look the same. overall great action film , bad transformers film

  • I totally agree with everything being said here. I wanted to see an example, such as, Arcee up on building by herself, in a sniping position on decepticons, well hidden, have her transmitting her situation to Optimus where he's in their home base. An entire scene of all the autobots or decepticons in a group discussion with NO People. Where was Jolt? Sideswipe? I feel like I saw the movie, but missed everything I ever wanted to see. Maybe I'll see it again, and try to like it.

  • they didnt fix bumblebees voice read the book it telles u they didnt

  • If it didn't happen in the movie, I don't consider it canon. If those stories ARE supposed to be canon, there should have been some reference to it IN the movie. Either way, it was clearly fixed at the end of the first movie, and the only reason it remains unfixed is so they could continue that stupid radio gag, regardless of what any comics or books say on the subject.

  • Too much humans? You gotta understand this is a hollywood movie, meant to create drama. If they just had robots there would be one of that.

  • Read the original comics. Watch the original cartoon. Plenty of drama in both of those, and not too many humans hanging around. Thought I made that clear in the review... It IS possible, they just took the easy way out instead of actually trying to make a good film.

  • i know if the fans knew how this movie wouldve gone this movie wouldnt have done well it sucked so much they focused to much on the humans and the ending was so weak almost like micheal bay said ok this movie is long enough just bullshit the ending optimus prime pwns the fallen and megatron in 2 second so i asked WHY THE FUCK IS THIS CALLED REVENGE OF THE FALLEN IF THEY GET OWNED again i thought this was supposed to appeal to decepticon fans and the humor was to much and innappropiate

  • haha, Shaun I thought that Anette told you that she wanted to say something when you went to get your slurpie. That didnt last long haha.

Good rant man, keep it up!

  • Too much focus on the humans! Wow, my friends and I were shouting the same thing after seeing it. Another brilliant assessment.

  • about soundwave ..in the first movie frenzy transforms into a radio/boombox

  • I know. It was a sad attempt to appeal to Soundwave fans...

  • your wife called you dork almost funny but wathcing you freak hilaourus bumbelbees voice can exaplined in the regin of starscreman tpb movie prequel i disagree with bots looks though i could tell teh maprt who was who but thats me i found sams roomate annying at times i may get it 4 saying this i like soundwave voice he sound more evil than his animated voice this was better than part 1 review

  • hey sean i just wanted to comment that

i enjoy watching your vids, their both entertaining and informative.

keep up the great rants, and reviews!

  • Transformers needs a reboot like the Batman series. I hope the reboot is done by the Japanese.

  • Hey, Z-Man what did you think of the death of the most established character in the franchise. Do you think it was bad or do you think they were trying to bring some old flair into the new era?

P.S. I liked it about as much as a kidney stone

  • A little from column A, a little from column B. If only Ben Hurst or Len Jansen had directed this. Then maybe it wouldn't have had so many issues.

  • It wasn't his death that I had an issue with. It was the way they revived him that I had a problem with. And it's the biggest issue I had with the entire movie. Everything else. Including everything that's on this video, MINISCULE, SMALL FRY compared to that. He had an all-spark fragment. Why did he have to go halfway across the world?

  • Keep in mind that even though I'm saying all this negative stuff about it, I still liked the movie. So don't think I hated it because of these things.

  • This is one of the better reviews of this film on Youtube. You judge it based on it's merits, and not just accepting it because your a Transformers fan. I'm tired myself of the excuses "what did you expect, The Godfather?" or "It's about robots fighting!". Transformers, as a film series, could of been one of the greatest sci-fi franchises ever, but instead Michael Bay opted for bottom of the barrel toiler humor to bring in the "Scary Movie" audience. It's sad that people actually defend it.

  • People defend it, because most casual moviegoers just don't really give a damn about things like that. Like me, when I went to see it, I didn't think of any of this (because I would never find a movie I like if I did). I just watched it because it was giant robots beating the crap out of each other. That's the same reason I got into Transformers in the first place.

  • But you know what? No matter how good anyone thinks a movie is, there'll always be people that complain about it. It's like that scene in Clerks where they were talking about Lord of the Rings, and the one guy (names escape me) just walked across the store and said that was the first one, did it again and said that was the second one, and then did it and pretended to drop something at the end and said that was the third one.

  • I mean, there were people that complained about the Dark Knight!

I guarantee that if the Transformers movies was Tokusatsu-esque and HAD been made more like their original 80s counterparts in terms of design, people would complain that the fights looked cheesy. People as a whole, ALWAYS complain. It's what they do. Why do you think people whine about Blu-Ray?

  • well Sean I am looking forward to Jonah Hex,,, where megan fox can play a totally new role for her... A WHORE!

  • when you were watching the movie, did you pick up the Forest Gump clip in Bumblebee's "radio voice"?

  • 2 out of 5, perfect score

  • Transformers: Revenge of Megan Fox cheesy "look at me i'm hot" scenes ...

  • How is it a revenge? I think its more of a "return".

  • Whatever floats your boat...

  • One thing that did piss me off, and is something you didn't mention in the video, is that Soundwave DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! He just floated in space!

  • Annetta is great in these

  • I love your rants - it annoyed me to hell as well but I enjoyed it to a degree

  • I don't know either of them, nobody listen's to anything I say !

  • Yeah, there must be more since I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of was a Season 1 episode...

  • lol and geeoh19 i dont want to start it again but the insult was ''oh if you want action go and play with your toys'' thats wat you said to american nohbuddy and it is insulting

  • I've known Sean since I was about 4. You should listen to what this man says.

  • I've known Chris since he was about 4. Listen to him about listening to what I say. ;)

  • I just have to say and I hope you don't get offended but Anetta didn't look interested when you shown us the Animated Transformers film, she looked like she was thinking Oh God do I have to watch that again, I wasn't interested in it the 1st time you put it on

  • She's just playing it up for the camera. Trust me, she loves cartoons almost as much as I do. One of the many reasons we get along so well... :)

  • What really bothered me about Soundwave though wasn't his voice. It was the fact that he was only in the movie for a couple minutes. Seriously, he's not exactly a minor character.

Keep in mind that I still enjoyed the movie. But I'm not fooling anyone by insinuating that it didn't have flaws.

  • Yeah, there was the lack of screentime too. Between the two, though, the voice pissed me off more than anything.

  • Perfectly said guys well done! OMG Soundwave I'm so pissed at that too!

  • ok nothing wrong with soundwave i like the fact he was a satellite instead of a car which sets he mode of being a communicator alot more realistic. but hay its better then making him a jet tank like megatron. also they didn't turn up the reverb on welker they just used his doctor claw voice without it to make him seem tougher. thats micheal bay for you

  • That wasn't the problem I had with Soundwave. I said I had no problem with him being a spy satellite.

  • Annetta's funny.

  • Have you seen this on youtube? Type in "soundwave" on the youtube search bar and you should find "Where are Transformers now? Soundwave: The Touch". 'See he didn't want to be an iPod'!

Hope this calms you down and makes you smile.

  • agreed

  • actually Geeoh19 you did insult my friend i actually find that what you said was unappripriate seriously you should not insult someone just for there openion.

  • Where was the insult?

  • You're telling me to go play with toys to get robots fighting. You're an asshole.

  • Well you just wanted to see robots fight. You can buy a set of Rock 'em Sock 'em robots for less than the price of a movie ticket.

  • See you're a total dick using a damn straw man. I wanted a simple action movie. I didn't care for depth or any academy award winning performances or writing. What is so wrong about that?

  • I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. If good writing, character depth, and intelligent plot devices are too complicated for you, fine.

Just don't expect those of us who do want thos things in their movies to just lie down for this crap.

And for the record, you're the one slinging all of the insults. Calling me names dude. That's just uncalled for.

  • When you act like an asshole I'll call you out on it. You insult my intelligence and belittle me just because of a damn movie opinion. What the hell did you expect out of a movie like transformers?

  • I'm just responding to what you're saying man. What did I expect out of Transformers? A good movie.

  • And when you respond you belittle me over a damn movie about giant robots, that were based on action figures, that fight. People already get on my case for liking transformers. Why do you have to insult people for simply liking a damn movie?

  • I haven't belittled you at all. I merely made some suggestions that I think would benefit you and help save you money while giving you equal entertainment. I'm just trying to help you out.

  • You're doing something that really pisses me off which is playing dumb with slight insults to my intelligence. What they fuck is your problem? Oh now I liked a movie that you didn't like! That shouldn't be allowed! Have you ever liked a movie that other people didn't like?

  • I think you're reading into this discussion too much. You should join us on Fridays. We could have a nice civil discussion there.

  • Whatever. Just don't belittle people for simply liking a damn movie that you didn't like.

  • Fair enough. We're both movie fans. We both like wrestling. Let's not have Michael Bay come between us.

  • Just for an FYI, go see DCompose's review of ROTF. If you don't know him he is a true transformers nerd along with being a comic book nerd.

  • Zaranyzerak has already pointed out the simple fact that these movies (which I liked the first one) haven't achieved the complexity and rich plot that the 80's cartoon movie achieved. And that's just sad.

  • Oh well, at least this movie was better than the new Battlestar Galactica series (and yes, I call it the new series, because the original was a good series).

  • Because if you hated this movie THAT much, I shudder to think of what you'll say in response to what they did with that show...

  • Well, in the case of BSG it bugged the hell out of me that they changed it so much initially, but apparently it's quite a good show. So I can live with the changes if the show itself is well done. Still annoying they had to change it so radically in the first place, though...

  • Zaranyzerak, when bumblebee was using the radio to talk (unfortuanatley), did you pick up the Forest Gump clip in the radio speech?

  • It wasn't a bad movie. It just had alot of... issues. I'm actually surprised you didn't mention the Skorponoc fight and how it only lasted about 15 seconds. That really annoyed me about the movie.

  • Scorponok was in it? I must have blinked and missed that...

  • Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a good movie i think thats just me..

  • 7:48 - For God's sake, in He-Man CRINGER finds his bravery in an episode! If he can do it, ANYONE in any fictional setting can!

9:12 - I agree. Why do action movies nowadays have to have such irritating camera angles? They're not fun, and I'm sorry, but they do NOTHING to intensify the moment.

13:54 - Next to Mel Blanc and Jim Cummings, but yes, I was happy too. I'm not familiar with the episode you mention here, but I did agree that he should have had that robotic voice.

  • 1:52 - To be fair, Masters of the Universe had their own updated version of the show (and there's supposedly another movie on the way), and Ghostbusters has their new game. But I understand what you're getting at.

For me, the movie is probably more of a guilty pleasure. It's one of those things where you know that it probably won't be as good as the original, but you've got to see it anyway just for completion sake.

  • Here's the big difference with those - The Masters of the Universe 2002 series and the new Ghostbusters game are GOOD updates. They re-introduce those classic characters for a new generation, while at the same time being respectful to the source material. They update it without alienating the fanbase that made it popular in the first place, AND created all new stories that new fans could enjoy alongside the old. THAT'S how you do it! I just don't get why they keep fucking THIS up sooo badly.
