I take a multivitamin with the biotin, folic acid and flaxseed capsules=all at walmart for super cheap:) I got about an inch in a month as well! I suggest the "It's a ten" products as well..they make a hair mask/leave in spray that really helps the ends! Also the Aussie 3 min miracle deep cond on your ends is great. I'm into the Loreal new sulfate free line, esp the conditioner /overnight repair treatment. don't forget the importance of protein:) Hair needs it in moderation to be strong:)
The thicker hair ties even without metal can cause stress on the hair so if you get hair ties without metal, try for the thinner ones because they are less stress on the hair. bobbypins can be used, but with caution. coconut oil is definition good for preventing split ends and is cheaper than other products that claim to help. i would try the split end preventer, but it may have silicones and other chemicals i am un aware of. when in doubt, oils are just the best.
@jenwexxx820 Oooh GREAT tips!! Thank you! I can never find the thinner hair ties without metal clasps! And do you know of any store chains that carry Coconut oil?? I've looked at all my local stores and I can't find it, and don't really want to pay for shipping! Haha.
@givemelonghair no problem! you can find the hair ties at walmart, target, or a dollar store i believe. Places that carry coconut oil are Whole foods, Wegmans, GNC, and possibly Vitamin Shop and Trader Joes. Pretty much any place that sells organic food or vitamins probably sells it. It won't be in an average grocery store. It's about 10 dollars but lasts a LONG time. If you want it to look less conspicuous, but it in a cute decorative container. Go for Virgin Coconut oil.
@givemelonghair I'm trying to grow my hair too and I've been taking Biotin for two months and I actually stopped today.
The coconut oil is usually in the section for ethnic hair. You can use tea tree oil and olive oil as well. Castor oil and Mane N' Tail, which is what I'm doing for my hair now, grow hair as well too.
