this was filmed for a tv show, an hour documentary show from i believe, branson, missouri. my father was the engineer, and i was the 2nd engineer. it was two fabulous days of great music!
IS there a DVD available of all songs on original CD -Primo everything -Beautiful, Beautiful . J Pisano EXCELLENT- Sweet Jesus, these boys can PLAY> )
As Joe says on the video, Roy Clark can play anything. I've known Roy since he was with Jimmy Dean in Washington DC (50 years ago) when Roy was working with him. The great Joe Maphis once told my grandmother that Roy Clark could take nose hairs from a camel and stretch them between two fence posts and make music; true.
Its like a musicians "what if" sessoin come to life "Hey, imagine Joe Pass and Roy Clark doing jazz arrangments of Hank Williams tunes!" And yet, here it is!
Two of my all time favorites. Beautiful recordings, and I absolutely love all of the commentary. Is there a source video for this? If so, I'd appreciate you letting me know.
its more sad to me that today's youth...hardly ever listen to this kind of music....and when they do have to chance to listen to this kind of music..they don't appreciate..and probably never will. From where i come from...society only listens to gayass crap music called..k-pop..or j-pop.. -_-" i hate it .. i wish more ppl would learn to listen to jazz
The talking over Joe's solo pisses me off!

Playing with fingers is the only way to go, it's much more intimate and complete than with a piece of plastic.

Wow, I feel sorry for the people that never get to witness this master class.

Beautiful music indeed.

Roy looks so limited relative to Joe. Joe's fingerstyle gives him options Roy can only dream of.

Talk about unsung heroes. John Pisano is the star of this show, if you ask me.

It's a shame to have 2 wonderful players like this putting forth some really fantastic licks and hardly anyone is listening to them.
I'm truly thankful to have had this opportunity to see and hear them play together...
