The difference is wreslting is meant to be entertaining and humerous.WWF was entertaining because the wrestling skill and technique was excellent (Like Mr Perfect, Bret Hart, etc) and the characters were simple yet effective. The attitude years were even better because of the skill was still there and it all had a dark humour about it. Wrestlers like Austin, DX and The Rock were hilarious to listen to as they cut into people. Modern WWE has poor humour, weak characters and no/underrated talent

CHIKARA does a lot of stupid spots like this. I'm glad people like this, but to be honest, I don't get it. Especially since a lot of the same marks who love this trash totally ream WWE for their creative decisions. Not to say WWE doesn't deserve a good reaming from time-to-time.
