That was cool how it was a connection since The Simpsons Ride is what replaced the Back to the Future ride. I rode the BTTF ride a few times but I haven't been back out to L.A. since 2005. I'd like to ride The Simpsons ride though.

it's a crime that they got rid of the BTTF ride, but as someone else said The Simpsons is a hell of a better replacement than Fast and the Furious.

And this little skit is a nice homage from the writers of The Simpsons, most people would've just ignored the previous ride completely, this and the fact they got Christopher Lloyd to voice Doc Brown shows a certain amount of affection for BTTF.

Looks like we'll have to head off to Japan to experience the BTTF ride in future! Oh well...

@tyrus244, I can't find it, but yes, things like that are put in the media so that the general public will subconciously associate something with another thing that they like. My hometown showed BTTF Saturday night outside downtown and just after the scene where Marty gets blown away by the amplifier, he starts getting up and at the bottom center of the screen, you will see the word "SEX" on a piece of paper. Was that just coincidence or were they trying to invoke it in teenage viewers? Idk

Universal Studios has made so many idiotic decisions. They try too hard to keep the park adorned w/ 'pop' rides rather than stick with characters/brands that have longevity.

For example... they did away w/ the Ghostbuster special FX show and replaced it with Twister. Who the heck really remembers Twister over Ghostbusters? Even dumber is that years later, we have a Ghostbusters video game and rumors of another GB movie.

... then there's also the demise of the King Kong ride (then Peter Jackson comes out with a a King Kong remake! duh!).

Changing the Hanna Barbera ride to Jimmy Neutron, which they are changing AGAIN.

The Psycho thing being changed to Shrek kind of makes sense, Shrek is popular.

For some reason they also changed Earthquake.

Universal's theme used to be about 'behind the scenes' and giving you fun ways to see how movies are made, but all that is gone now really.

The Simpsons ride is enjoyable the first few times, but it's nothing really special. The fact that the ride is in 3D just bugs me. The Simpsons never look good in 3D, they could've drawn the whole thing and while the ride itself wouldn't be better, it would be more enjoyable. (I mean seriously, they had, what, 9 months to get something /drawn/ out? What were they doing that whole time?)
