@jerryjoe88 Yeah, no pedestrians. I guess even the original Driver had that. lol I didn't miss them though. Not like they'd let you hit them anyway. :)
WOW! When I saw Drive for Wii I thought it is going to be rubbish with the Wii motion controllers, however I think they have got it right with making it more like the original. In fact it kind of reminds me of Chase HQ with the ramming the other cars and then its sequel Special Criminal Investigation with the shooting. I am glad to see they re-worked the Wii version. I love the fact you can download the map to the DS this is an excellent feature. I may now purchase this game. Great review.
@DLiberator78 If you do purchase Driver for the Wii, I would guess it would drop in price fairly quickly. Not sure how popular a game it is. lol Good call with the Chase HQ / SCI comparison!
Who is Moe and why would you want to slow him down?
This is my kind of racing game. I've never played any of the Driver series. I don't have a Wii, but from what you've said, it sounds like it might be worth giving the original a go.
LOL 'You'll unlock the slow mo ability which slows down the game's mo' - it's that kind of understated humour I love about your videos. The DS connectivity is pretty nifty but I've always found it a little awkward using the Nunchuk's stick in driving games.
Great review as always, This is a prime example why I don't buy alot of wii games. I wanna play the game and the game only, the ds thing is cool i like that but havng to do things with the wii mote and nun chuck that just turn the game into a chore. Gamers are going to buy this game and gamers will be begging for simple contorls so they can concentrate on gaming and not shaking their nun chuck for speed and tilting the wii mote etc.... it prevents the immersive feel....
@AFIDD21 Sorry I'm late to reply. I see what you are saying about motion controls. I actually find well executed motion controls to make things more immersive, but things like shaking the nunchuk for boost are not that well executed. :) I do like using the WIi remote to smash into other cars, though.
@andersdenkend Right now I'm wondering if you get the same Dr Goodstein (Caltech) lecture videos I had in physics. My high school and college both used those, so I got to watch most of them twice.
even though i love the wii, it was funny to me to see the last 5 game reviews where like this : Intellivision, Atari 2600, Atari 2600, Astrocade, Atari 2600 and Wii
In many ways....this is a lesser game than the original that was on the PS1. At least in Driver 2, you can get out of the car and it had actual polygon graphics cut scenes not "graphic novel" (comic book) illustrations.
Oh and I find it funny that there are trolley cars in this one, but none of the other versions of D:SF have them. Frisco without trolleys is like New York without taxis.
This looks awesome! Totally different than the other versions, but nothing wrong with that in this case. I'm liking how it's somewhat reminiscent of the original Driver. Not liking the sound of the controls, but I'll probably still give it a shot.
@phreakindee Yeah, this game met my expectations. In retrospect, it's actually even simpler than the original Driver, as there's no night missions, no replay feature...but it's still fun. And you just know it will be a $20 soon enough. Hasn't seem to have received much coverage at the big review sites except for IGN. If you can deal with the controls, I think it's fun. On a few of the missions where you have to lose the cops before returning home, I had some awesomely long chases.
do this have all the same cars as the xbox360 and ps3

Is this game 4 players?
DJMannyFajardo 3 months ago
@DJMannyFajardo The party game modes (race, eliminator race, pass the bomb, gold rush, capture the flag) can have up to 4 players.

Great review niceandgames :) I had no idea the Wii version was a completely different game - actually makes me want both versions now :)

@gamesessions Yeah, I will get the 360 version at some point, probably when the price drops, whenever that will be. Months from now. :)

I would like to see how a future TAS would utilize the DS connectivity.

I played this on PS3. Jesus christ, the graphics are a lot worse on the Wii.

About 5 min in, I realized, the San Fran in Wii, has no pedestrians.
Maybe they're all hiding out of embarrassment cuzz the Giants couldn't even make the play-off's this year.

I like your voice. You should narrate tutorial videos of all kinds. Most preferably school physics stuff.
