If the ending had been more dramatic I think Frog would have just popped Julian for making that shot and then he would have been loaded onto a stretcher and it would have cut to a scene in the hospital with Perry, Brandon, and Karen nurse him through his wounds as opposed to Julian checking on Perry as occurred earlier in the film.
