With all respect to Amy, a little reflection on her place in popular music is in order. About her music, I never understood her great popularity. Let's face it, she has a good R&B voice and her band has a good R&B sound, but there's nothing distinctive about her sound - she's not exactly breaking new ground here.

@wwleslie Very true in one aspect but you have to go back to when she was 18,19 and 20 etc. Her incredicble Jazz Voice was amazing. Now you do make a point about her R n B sound but she could perform on such a wide spectrum. Not to mention she was able to walk off stage and sit next to you and sing WITHOUT an Autotune or a bunch of studio equipment. You would be shocked at how many artist "hide" behind engineers and electronics. Check out her rendition of "Teach Me Tonite". She was barely 20.
