Those are all pretty good shots, sure the miss but I'd be surprised if more than 2 percents of the youtube audience could hit a rabbit beyond 50m regardless which caliber is used. I go after rabbits either with a shot gun (moving and short distance) or a .22 and I can tell you hitting such a small target with a rifle beyond 50m requires a lot of skill!

Misses at a closer range then what you have your scope is zeroed for is actually quite easy if you don't know how low to aim for the ranges under the zero. Against popular belief guns do not shoot in a straight line, they actually have a tendency to arch high then start to drop. some rounds do this more (such as .303 British) and some tend to do this less (such as .308) but all arch upwards for some distance regardless...

a 223 for rabbit hunting. A little over kill, I use a 223 for deer. A .17 hmr for rabbit and air rifle .17 for squirrels. Seems like you have to sight the rifle before hunting.

Too all the people bitching about the killing of rabbits, this seems like this is in Australia judging by the accents in the video and the uploader's page. The rabbits were introduced to that continent just as toads and pigs were and now they have a problem with them since they have no natural predators. What better way to get rid of them than with a rifle and have some target practice fun while you are at it.

When you hunt for meat,you can tell friends what the weather was like,how long you had to wait and how you felt after being able to get close enough to a wary animal and kill it to use for food. Buying meat at the store doesn't begin to compare,my friend.

Are u training long range shooting to rabbits? I think that is a bit fucked up. When you are hunting animals it got to be sure to get killing shot not just "trying to hit them". Theres a risk u hit them in the face and they run away and suffer to death, as u propably know. Respect to nature is essential in hunting. Sorry about whining, I just dont see it right to practise shooting to living targets:/
