While I no longer think Leno is that funny, if he ever was, and he sucks as a interviewer, probably being the worst at least for the nightime gang I think Letterman is an ass, acts like it and should have lost his show for his messing around with the staff. I don't see Leno as a villan. He agreed to give up the Tonight Show even when he was still king in the ratings. Even though Jay knew his show woudln't work in prime time, again, he went along. Why shouldn't he get his old show and time slot back? He did nothing wrong. It was Conan that flopped big time and NBC suits being the a-holes.
I need to preface what I'm about to say by saying I was never a fan of Coan thinking his style of humor is far too juvenile for the Tonight Show time slot and audience. He knew that, refused to change and proceeded to see HALF of the Tonight show audience disappear. NBC did everything they thought would avoid a repeat of Leno Letterman and this time screwed it up worse. Reading between the lines, it seems Conan was tired of late night, wanted the Tonight Show. NBC gave it to him and he flopped.

Since they're 4th in prime time, they got desperate. NBC originally proposed to move Leno's prime time show to 11:30, which would put The Tonight Show on at 12:30. Conan was opposed to that, so he left NBC, and Leno went back to The Tonight Show, while Conan went to TBS.

The real culprit here is neither Leno nor Conan, but NBC for failing to be firm in its commitments. But ultimately, the network did prefer Leno for the superior ratings.

They leave it up to him to save the bad jokes and make the good one's even funnier. I think he's hilarious and much funnier than Leno and Letterman.

Conan acted like a crybaby to some extent over it. And in my opinion, he's not even funny in the least. Way back in the 90s, I didn't like him back then either. Back when he had Andy Richter on the show, Andy made Conan tolerable to watch. Conan is a professional bad comedian. There is almost an audible thud every time he tries to tell a joke. If he were on stage in a comedy club as an "unknown" doing that kind of routine, he'd be booed off the stage.
You have to remember that this whole thing could have been avoided if Conan agreed to move the Tonight Show to midnight instead of 11PM, but he refused.
Only thing that sucks now,is that he's not on regular television. I don't have cable,and I wish I could still watch him. Jay Leno tries too hard now to be more up to date. He's not as exciting or fun as Conan or Jimmy Fallon

I don't see Leno as a villan. He agreed to give up the Tonight Show even when he was still king in the ratings. Even though Jay knew his show woudln't work in prime time, again, he went along. Why shouldn't he get his old show and time slot back? He did nothing wrong. It was Conan that flopped big time and NBC suits being the a-holes.

I need to preface what I'm about to say by saying I was never a fan of Coan thinking his style of humor is far too juvenile for the Tonight Show time slot and audience. He knew that, refused to change and proceeded to see HALF of the Tonight show audience disappear. NBC did everything they thought would avoid a repeat of Leno Letterman and this time screwed it up worse. Reading between the lines, it seems Conan was tired of late night, wanted the Tonight Show. NBC gave it to him and he flopped.

@evangelinelilly8 When Leno was still hosting The Tonight Show, NBC was still number one as far as Late Night programming goes. When Conan took over, they were surpassed. Since they're 4th in prime time, they got desperate. NBC originally proposed to move Leno's prime time show to 11:30, which would put The Tonight Show on at 12:30. Conan was opposed to that, so he left NBC, and Leno went back to The Tonight Show, while Conan went to TBS.

The real culprit here is neither Leno nor Conan, but NBC for failing to be firm in its commitments. But ultimately, the network did prefer Leno for the superior ratings.

They leave it up to him to save the bad jokes and make the good one's even funnier. I think he's hilarious and much funnier than Leno and Letterman.

Conan acted like a crybaby to some extent over it. And in my opinion, he's not even funny in the least. Way back in the 90s, I didn't like him back then either. Back when he had Andy Richter on the show, Andy made Conan tolerable to watch. Conan is a professional bad comedian. There is almost an audible thud every time he tries to tell a joke. If he were on stage in a comedy club as an "unknown" doing that kind of routine, he'd be booed off the stage.

Conan shouldnt have tried to force Jay Leno off the Tonight Show 5 or 6 years ago. He himself gave NBC the ultimatum(which he did not have to do) that he gets Tonight Show or he leaves. Thats Conan's fault. Dont cry about your employeescrew when they had work in New York. Jay Leno was number 1 or 2 off and on with good constant ratings. There is no reason for Leno to step down or leave.
