@AiMieru It's been a while since I put this video together, but if memory serves me rightly, the answer is yes, her voice was adjusted. I believe she and halyosy sang at different pitches (halyosy pitch-shifted his version of the song upwards by a bit).

Gazelle and Halyosy are VERY good singers. I'll admit I've only just heard of Gazelle, but this blew me away.

I feel as though it's necessary to point out that Gazelle's voice has been pitch shifted a small amount to match with Halyosy's version of the song.

Her actual voice is far, far better. :P

Also, she sings professionally, now, under the name of 'yanagi nagi' (though you'll probably just see her called 'nagi'). She sang the ED for Bakemonogatari, a song called 'Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari'.

The song sounds great because it is Real People singing. I am first to say, I love many Vocaloid original compositions like Melt. Nothing against Miku or the others, but I always like the version of a great Vocaloid song sung by talented singers. I've got a version of Kokoro sung by a real Nico Nico Douga singer that is outstanding--the best in my collection!

I heard the vocaloid creators had to implement the distinct "robotic sound" because the singers that the vocaloids were modelled after were afraid they would be made redundant, something like that.
