The man should be complemented on doing the absolute right thing. I would hope most people would have done the same thing no matter what religious group they were part of. It would be a kind thing if people would check on their elderly neighbors. Unforturnately people do not know their neighbors and that goes for Jehovah's Witnesses also. I'm certain that they would call for help if someone was injured but I'm not so certain they would offer help on a personal leve.
I love the story but I'm sorry, what kind of "friend" only lives a few doors down and doesn't check every day on a woman that old or wonder if she hasn't seen her?
