This was a real good game, the adapting to your surroundings feel ability was really fitting for the series. It made it seem more understandable why you could take so many bullets. I'm hoping there's either something to explain it in the new one or maybe an option to make it so that if you get shot you die.

I have never played this game long enough to get anywhere. The whole sneaking around, using tedious stealth methods, and be able to get lost anywhere, tries my patience. I like the whole guns blazing approach. But, in this game... That gets you killed. Is it just me... Or does the voice actor for Jack sound a lot like actor Stephen Dorff? I don't think it would be too crazy of an assumption to say that has got to be Stephen Dorff talking.

Far Cry 2 was an utter disappointment compared to Far Cry: Instincts and Far Cry Instincts Evolution. They completely changed the basis of the game.

@AccidentlySane Actually Far Cry: Instincts and Evolution changed the basis of far cry. Which was a PC only title and better then any other far cry to release. Although I did absolutely love Instincts and Evolution they just didn't quite match up to the original for me.

I've been meaning to play Far Cry since I was what.. 13 and I'm 18 now, just never got around to playing this. It still looks really interesting, and the new Far Cry 3 looks really good as well. I'm a big fan of a good storyline and jungle adventure/action games are great.. hence why Metal Gear Solid 3 is perhaps my favourite game ever. :P

Okay Farcry 2 was fun but it isn't Farcry it's run around and blow shit up just because that guy told me to. If you saw the early EARLY screens and previews of Farcry 2 at E3 back in (2000 something) they actually had the feral abilities and Jack was supposed to be in it. But the lead director or what ever of Farcry 1 and 2 got in a dispute and quit and took the rights of Jack Carver and everything about him + everyone from Farcry and Farcry evolution

@GuildCarver nope, it was changed because they polled play testers and they hated Jack and thought the feral abilities were stupid. Ubisoft still owns the rights to all of the far cry series, even the parts that crytech worked on in the PC version.

@warikplaya No in fact the original on the PC was in fact the best one out of this one and Far Cry 2 it comes with an extremely advanced editor and if you think the graphics are outdated there is mod called Far Cry 2010 which actually makes it look more realistic than Crysis itself. Me and my team are working on updating the game with better multiplayer and more story missions plus going over the original levels and making them look a lot better.

i played this game for 1 hour on the original xbox. levels took 2+ minutes to load, the game was really dark, and the overall game was udder crap. Far Cry 2 which i have on the Xbox360 is muuuuch better

@EnZiGaming XBOX is not a PC. Far Cry 1 is the only Far Cry game made for PC, other releases were for different consoles, mainly for XBOX. And as far as I know, an Emulator that runs on a decent speed is not available yet.

Since they didn't have time to record all new dialogue or make a new character model they made the NPC parter characters selectable.
