Food stamps are meant to supplement people's food. From what I've seen as a retail clerk at a convenience/liquor store, it seems that all the food stamps are doing are supplementing people's bad habits. It is more common for someone to spend forty dollars on junk food at the store and spend their money on liquor than it is for them to use them for bread and eggs. Not to mention that they also use them to pay for their mixers. They also use the cash portion to pay for their bad habits.

I witness first hand every day what you people buy with your food stamps. Garbage. There needs to be more regulations. I witness people buying junk with their food stamps then spending their cash on luxuries like liquor, lottery tickets and cigarettes. There was one person in particular who bought a whole display of candy bars with food stamps. You, natval, may very well be a responsible person who just needs a little help.. but the majority of you are anything but responsible.

I know exactly what you mean. I see the women in line with they bad ass kids. Three shopping carts full of junk. Wearing outfits that you hear female rappers talking about. The latest make and model of cars and cell phones. Stank attitudes complaing about prices when they're not even dropping a penny. I'm sick of feeding you bastards!!! And I'm laughing at the ones on food stamps commenting. You can pay for your internet but I have to feed your Kids?? That makes no sense to me.

If there were plenty of jobs for EVERYONE then this country would not be in a recession or heading towards one.
People are so IGNORANT when it comes to the topic of food stamps. Food stamps are available to those without a job and to those with a job. I received FS as a divorced, WORKING, mom. It may not be as much as people on welfare receive, but it helps especially with the rise in dairy products. I pay taxes just like everyone else and do NOT and am not ashamed of it.

Working class people have less than that, and they pay for the welfare. Why do I have to pay people to have more children than they can afford? Did you also figure in the cost of illegals? Mexicos population doubles every 20 years and we are their primary economic source. We educate the majority of thier kids, house half of their population, feed at least that much, and provide nearly all of their medical care. 1% my ass.

This means wait until you are established to start a family. Get an education first, then work on a career. You can thank "free trade" and liberalism for our open borders policy when bitching about the job market. I remember a pet food plant that used to pay entry level 15.00 p/h with full benefits. The same factory now pays less than minimum wage cash under the table now, they have 200 people per job opening, nearly all spanish.

I agree that there are people who abuse the system but I dont think you could blanket everyone. Seems to be some injustice. So if we make tougher rules and the system becomes harder to get into... then where do those people go? what do their kids eat? If they make that tougher , they are going to make other programs like WIC tougher too.. dont you think? Where would it end?
Goodness forbid, What if you need it one day when times are tough? Its a tough call...

People with work capacity will work in a volunteer capacity somewhere in lieu of work or attend school. Otherwise, no deposit to your card.
