  • I cry everytime I see this part. And the funeral scene when Mahalia Jackson sings- WOW weepy weepy!

  • I loved this movie, it was touchable, we still have many prejudices nowadays.

  • today, it would probably be no big deal BUT ... she looks 100% white. She looks like a Natalie Wood type. Back in those days if she were to date a black man, they probably would have been killed by some white people or at least seriously hurt on more than one occasion. The way I see it, she had no choice but to be white. I felt sorry for her mom though. Tough situation all around.

  • that turquoise and diamond necklace Lana wears is the same one Doris Day wears in pillow talk that same year

  • susan is so delightful, all bouncy. I wish she existed!

  • OMG I love this movie so much it came on TV the other day but I had to leave to go class...If you have the entire film could you please PLEASE post it

  • oh my god I want to cry everytime I see this! so sad!!

  • Look at 1:25. Lana is really thin throughout this film, especially by '50s standards- Taylor, Monroe, Loren, Bardot.

  • So Deep!

  • God i love this brilliant tear jerker!

  • This is my all time favorite movie. Probably because I went through the same thing. Since it's the 21st century it wasn't as extreme.

  • I noticed how Sandra Dee's hair went from blond to ash blond. Can hair naturally change color like that?

  • @504diva...that excuses it how

  • ´How am I ment to tell my child, she was born to hate¨´ I just wanna say thanks for keeping the tragic mulatto myth alive, this movie and itś motives are rarely questioned.

  • @pheno09 u do realize this movie was made in the 50's.

  • That movie was made in 1958 and the tragic mulatto myth is not a good one. It makes for a great story, but some people take it seriously.

  • this did happen alot back in the days and still does in some countries. dominican republic, puerto rico, and anywhere in latin america where the influence is heavily african and spanish you will find hand fulls of mulatos who don't wish to identify with their black side.

  • Tim Wise - White Privilege

  • I would like to get this movie. I have never seen the entire movie. thank you for this

  • I love this movie, it is so sad and truly shows the unconditioanl love of a mother...

  • please upload the whole movie!!

  • No! Some things u buy!

  • Wonderful movie... weepie at times. but thats is a good movie. A+++

  • Melodramas are often weepy!

  • STEEEEEEEEEEVE!!!!!

  • this movie was always so sad to me.

  • I always felt a little sorry for Sarah Jane, of course she should have never denied her mother, but she lived in a time when white people had more advantages than black people. So I guess she felt like she was just surviving and she didn't realize how much she was hurting her mother and herself in the process.

  • This movie brings out my every emotion. Best movie ever.

  • When Sarah-Jane mouths "Mama" the last time, my hearts jsut breaks.
