I'm gonna get some flak for saying this, I know.

There are many who say that our history as far back as Atlantis involved a story much like this. That a small group of Martians around 19 thousand years ago came to Earth and changed our evolutionary path forever. Although we were living here already and were harmed a great deal by their arrival.
