  • The green terror is tight

  • Do you think that an Oscar would be okay in a 56 gallon collumn tank?

  • So where has your 90 Gal gone?

  • Your aquarium is very nice. Compliments. You can see my acquarium in "Acquario pesci tropicali - VINCENZO IANNI". Ciao. Vincenzo.

  • i have an oscar in a 55 gallon to and a pleco but he only moves at night so he is very boaring

  • ive got about a 10-12 inch jack dempsey think this would be a good sized tank for him? btw nice looking fish and tank

  • @Couchlog I would say if you were only planning on having a JD in your tank, it would be ok. It's a bit on the small side, but as long as he was alone, I'm sure it would be alright.

  • 55 uk or us gallons? looks big for a 55 gallon

  • @OmgLowBattery 55 US gallons. I promise it's a 55. It's just the way I'm shooting the video

  • nice man i just got a 55 gal tank already had 2 jacks one firemouth and an oscar in a 10 gal tank and just switched my oscar and biggest jack are both about 2" the smaller jack is about 1 1/2" and firemouth 1" all pretty small for my tank but they love it!

  • sweet tank man i own a

55gallon my self its a cool

    tank all in all nice.

    peace

  • did some of your fish die or did you buy only 4 fish that lived long. when you bought your fish did you buy some with those in the tank that died or only 4 fish.

  • @msd1412 I only bought those 4 fish who lasted that long. The filter broke on my 90 gallon, which is why they got moved down to a 55. No fish died.

  • @franciskerbob oh thats what im doing now, because i learned that when you buy new fish with fish that are already in the tank they will die so now i buy a couple of fish and wait until the whole tank dies instead of buying more fish

  • awesom oscar!

  • Nice choice of fish

  • that oscar will eventually kill those dempseys

  • @boobyjboob Not necessarily. I have a tiger oscar, electric blue jack dempsey, green terror and common pleco. I've had them for two years now and they all get along fine. :)

  • I want to get one of those huge Oscar fish, but it'll probably eat all of the others, maybe even the frogs too. heh heh.

  • you should get real plants.

  • HOW MUCH FOR A 55 GALLON WITHOUT A HOOD

  • @xxHUNGREExx Ur best bet would be to look on Craigslist...

  • Love the TERROR ,and nice tank setup 4/5

  • Yeah I got a blood Jewel also, They're great fish man. Nice tank too. 5/5

  • Hay, sweat.I got a red jewel cichlid too. Your Oscar is cool too

  • would someone please tell me how many gallons my tank is?

    measurements are in inches; 30 x 18 x 15

p/s: please reply. i seriously need to know =[

    -thank you

  • @stingray614 sounds like a 40 gallon breeder

  • @cichlidkeep4 40?? :O

  • @stingray614 sorry i was off a 40 breeder is 36 long 16 deep and 18 wide so maybe a30 or 35

  • @cichlidkeep4 oh okay. thanks mate =]

  • yeah green terror says hi that cool but cool tank

  • lol hes says hi thats funny

  • hi, nice tank and fish u have!!

  • Thanks!

  • Are Oscars hard to take care of?

  • The only real annoyance was that they do excrete a decent amount, and sometimes they like to reorganize the tank, but other then that, they were good. They are particularly hardy fish (though I wouldn't test that out!)

  • hey bro i was wondering i have a 55 gallon wit a oscar would it be ok if i put a jd in there . and thats it or do i need a bigger tank

  • You could start it there, but you have two things to keep in mind. The oscar is territorial, and will attack/try to eat anything that encroaches on its territory (especially if what they are trying to eat is the same size as it's mouth). The other thing is that both fish grow quite quickly, and large, so a 55 will eventually get too small for them.

  • could i have one oscar with butterfly cichlids and electric yellow cichlids in a 55gallon tank?

  • See the comments under hulk3606 just above. Same results!

  • i just got a 55 gallon too imma put up vids pretty soon

  • I have a question. What size tank would be good for, 1 Oscar, 1 GT, 1 JD, and Pleco. Just like your tank. Thanks for your help.

  • Well, just keep in mind, over time (especially the Oscar), they're going to get large. Really large. If you can afford it, I would say the minimum would be a 90 if you didn't put any more fish in there. Myself personally, I'd almost spring for a 120, but that's just me!

  • Thanks dude! One more question, My mom said that if i got a 125 and put it in my room (Up stairs) that it would fall though the floor. How can i prove that the tank wont fall though the floor to my mom. Lol

  • Oh I forgot to mention, these fish were moved out of this tank as soon as they got large enough. A 55 would not be good as the fish get so large.

  • Oh also a 125 is 1,400 pounds

  • Well, first you'd have to look into how old your house is. If it's older construction, I would recommend either keeping the tank on the main floor, or go with a smaller size and get a slightly different stock of fish. If the construction is newer, you could even give a ring to the contractors who built it and see if it can hold it. If they say it can, make sure to line it up with the studs and not on open flooring!

  • Thanks for your help, Im going to just stay with my 55 gal. But might get a bigger tank if needed. Thanks again.

  • Studs are in walls, You mean line it up with the joists.

  • Right. Hehe, that's why I teach music and not carpentry!

  • how long is a 55 gallon tank? im planning on getting one but trying to figure out a place to put it and just need to know how long they are. thanks

  • A 55 gallon tank is 48x13x21 inches. This will also weigh approximately 625 lbs when full. If you live in an apartment building, check with the landlord to make sure that you are allowed to have such a tank in the building.

  • ok thx i know a perfect spot for it in my house.

  • i just bought a (used) acrilic fish tank, 55 gallons it came with a home made stand and home made lid,all for 50$, i think i got a good deal!

  • My JD killed my GT... they are abt the same size.

  • How big is the tank that they were in? Usually, as long as they are the same size, one isn't abnormally aggressive, the tank is large enough, and there are enough hiding spots, they can co exist. I know I had to make sure to have one designated hiding spot per cichlid, plus a couple extra when I had my JD and GT.

  • Had them both in 55gal. They were small about 3". JD was bullying the other cichlids too. I put them together after seeing ppl doing it.... now, i'm just keeping discus and frontosa.

  • do you think i could keep

    2 angels

    7 danios

    2 dwarf gouramis

    4 corys

    in a 55 gallon?

  • The only thing to pay attention would be that depending on the species of angel fish, they might be decently aggressive to some of the fish. As long as the tank is big enough (and I would guess that 55 is), the Gourami's won't get in each others way. Normally they don't like each other, but there is sufficient space.

  • I heard you say that your pleco has gone from about 8" to about 13". What did the diet consist of. I've had a pleco for close to 2 months now but it has barely grown so I would like to vary his diet because he is only eating algae wafers every night.

  • It varied. I usually fed him wafers, but from time to time, I gave him fresh veggies (he really liked cucumber). He would also occasionally chow down on a veggie mix that I had in pellet form, but the wafers he loved. Change it up, and see what he thinks!

  • Thank you very much.

  • i sub u sub back also watch all my videos some r ratings diasabled rate all of them 5 thanks!

  • u must done a lot of research on how to keep gts, the real trick to keep gts with other fish is that the fish must be HUGE compared to the GT, GTs dont attack big fishes, unless its like a goldfish, but if its a cichlid, cichlids can defense themselves even if they are labeled as peaceful

  • cool video !!did you had the oscar when it was small ?because i wanted to know if you know when does the oscar grow.

  • I got the oscar when he was about 3 inches big, and he grew into an oscar that was about 10 inches big in about 9 months. The real rough rule of thumb is that an oscar will grow 1 inch for every month for the first 6-8 months

  • very nice tank :D

  • heyy did you get this tank at waltmart?

im trying to get a bigger tank and i was looking to see if this was it...

  • i actually did not. a friend of mine gave it to me for free, since he knew i was getting into the fish thing, and he had an extra one lying around. my 29 gallon one though is from walmart, and it has done me just fine!

  • lol, this is kinda funny, i have a 75gal with a oscar, dempsey, and a pleco too, and my pleco hides in the same decor!...funny

  • I like your tank too. You've got some nice fish!

  • i like your tank its nice how long did it take your oscar to get that big i cant wait till mines that big if u watch my vid of my tank mines still very small

  • It only took my oscar about 7 months for him to grow that size. Now, I also got him when he was 3 inches long, but after 7 months, that's how big he was. Keep up the work!

  • how do you cycle a 55 gallon tank

  • just really as you would any tank. the larger tank ideally you just want to take a touch longer time to really be sure, but there isn't too much of a difference. the larger the tank, the easier to maintain (less temperature fluctuations, less radicals to maintain)

  • what kind of fish should i use to start the cycle?

im planing on making my 55 in to a tiger barb tank but can i start cyling it with tiger barbs

  • You can use the Tiger Barbs (as I have read). I've never raised tigers, so I don't know much about them, but I have read that they are strong fish, so they can be used. Start with a few, then keep adding more every couple of weeks.

  • hi, i need help. i was wondering if 2 oscars and 2 jack dempsey will be okay in a 90gl tank. and i have a extra 90gl tank, and im really intrested in getting a arowana. is it possible i can keep it in the tank him and no other fishes? thanks

  • I wouldn't really recommend the 2 oscars in the same tank, unless they are a mating pair. Now, if you raise them together, it is possible, just make sure to watch them. As for the arrowana, I don't know much, but I know they get huge. When he is small, the 90 will be possibly ok, but as it gets bigger, it's gonna need at least a 200 gallon.

  • the oscars are just babies their about 3-4", so i got to wait and see if they are a mating pair, but i have the feeling their not, because they usually ignore each other everyday, ex, they don't swim together at all. and sometimes i see one of them chasing eachother. so yeah, thanks

  • hey those are very nice looking fish u have there =] hey i was wondering, can i have a JD in a 45 gallon tank? im getting a 45 gallon cuz its the biggest i can get for the place i have to put it. so cud a JD live in there or wud it get 2 big by the time its an adult?

  • You could put a JD in a 45, but when it gets to an adult size, that'd be way too small. I'd really recommend at least a 55, if not a 75 or 90 at the minimum for when they get to be full sized.

  • nice tank!!! i have 2 baby JD's cant wait for them to get big.

  • I have almost the same selection of your tank with the only differense I also have a jaguar, let me ask you,in my tank the green terror is the one takin for ever to grow, is that happening to you too? your looks like about the same size of mine (we are talking about fish of course) lol, any help would be great thanx.

  • My green terror is also taking a bit longer to grow. My oscar grew at phenomenal speeds, but that I'm aware of, only oscars grow that fast. The rest of the cichlids seem to take normal speeds

  • hey do u think two 3inch oscar will be ok in a 50gallon for a couple of months?

  • For a couple of months, yeah. Just keep in mind that oscars grow about 1 inch a month if properly fed and kept happy. The other thing to consider is as they get older, they could get territorial. Now, if they are a mating pair, that's a different story, but you won't notice that when they are little.

  • Could I fit a GT, JD, Texas/Convict and a raphael catfish/pleco in a 55g aquarium? Because you have a lot of healthy looking fish in there, I'm going to put in a powerhead and stuff.

  • I'm pretty sure you could get them in there as long as you made sure to raise them together, and keep a close eye on the Texas/Convict and the Green Terror. My fish are all peaceful with one another. The big thing to remember, give them hiding spots!

  • Yeah, I'm gonna be putting in a lot of caves and maybe a piece of driftwood. Thanks for the help.
