A great song for a great video. Can you send this song to my email. I would greatly appreciate it. We had pure talent back in those days. Now, we have a bunch of cry babies and cheaters. This video shows the essence of great basketball players.
I love the music. I have heard it is called "I Remember" (J Funk Instrumental) by Coolio...I haven't been able to find it on youtube, except in this video. Does anyone know what CD of Coolio's this was on? If so, that would be very helpful because I want to get this song.
This song is from the "I Remember" CD single which had about 50 variations on it. Luckily for me, I have it. Message me your email and I'll send it over.
hopefully somebody will come out with the full game because this is the stuff of legends. i could be wrong but officially MJ was 24/46 from the field in this game. i still liked Chicago Stadium better, but that building was just too old.
Something special about this video thanks hoops. It just makes you feel good to know that you saw the best at something. Reminds me of being young and in the service never appreciating how good MJ was.
we could look back on those memorial day and if it wasn't 4 mike we wouldnt try our best in stuff thank u ''HOOPSENCYCLOPEDIA'' MAKE THE BEST VIDEOS TO LOOK ON 2.
I've seen some comments here about the AI cross on Jordan. Man, everybody gets it sometime, and that's not the first time Money got jooked. AI abused Jordan on that play, plus got fouled with no call from the refs; what's a rookie to do? Bottom line, Al wasn't phased by his Airness one bit, and everyone chastized him for it. If AI was Mike's height, and build, there is no question as to who the so-called torch would have been passed to, cause it's definitely not Kobe. Kudos to a great video
al crosed him over, but he didnt get past him, and jordan almost blocked the shot also, he threw up a lucky shot which 9 out of ten times he misses or jordan blocks it
He was 34 when AI crossed him over you piece of shit! Get your fucking facts straight! Also, who gives a shit about that! I'm fucking tired of hearing about that, it was one god damn play!
Who cares about Iverson? Nothing to do with tbe video. I don't care about meaningless Bulls/Sixers games. I was referring to Jordan's age in the Pippen game.
Spr463 is right the Pippen game took place in September of '94. The last event at Chicago Stadium. Jordan just completed his season with the Birmingham Barons. He was 31 not 36.
Scottie's charity game is actually from 1994 and not 1995. But if memory serves me correctly, Scottie Pippen's charity game was the last event ever in the Chicago Stadium.
I think I shed a tear...what a great time to grow up in my teens during the bulls dynasty days. and to get a chance to see them play live at the old chicago stadium. wow, has it been almost 10 yrs since their last ring? (sigh)
The game was played on September 9th, 1994. I tried for a month to get my dad to buy tickets to the game (even before Mike announced he was in), but he procrastinated and waited until the last minute and no dice. He later admitted he almost decided to come out of retirement that weekend but held off. It took the player's strike in baseball to get him back and restore the Bulls to their rightful place atop the NBA for the rest of the decade.
Jordan and Kobe are great players. Jordan by far is the better player and Kobe has a chance to go down as a top 5 player from his own era. Jordan should be compared to Shaq and Duncan who are the only leaders with multi-championships. Read my channel description. I guarantee you that it teaches you more about the game and the history of MJ and the history of Kobe.
Aww man the old school, when the 90's was new and life wasnt being recycled like it is now. Mike was young and fresh running the show. And when me as a youngster thought air jordans could make me fly. Damn if we could all just go back. Life is hard but when your watching mike and got on them new air jordans, life doesnt get any better than that.
I was at pippen's charity game, the last game at the old stadium...incredible. It was pitch black before Jordan came out, and the whole place just lit up with camera shots...the cameras sounded like 1000 rapid fire machine guns goin off at the same time...my brothers girl cried when she saw Jordan.
damn..that song got me thinkin bout how fun and simple life use to be b4 all the responsibilities..like old school shit, playin freeze tag..til you hear thje ice-cream truck commin round the block..had to get me dem now or laters, ring pops, push pops.
Pippen was never as good as Jordan, not even close...MJ blocked, stole more than Pippen ever did...to even compare them is ridiculous...I have seen every MJ game ever...I can see him do his moves with my eyes closed....I've seen Pippen in interviews saying MJ is faster, stronger and better...he admitted it...not a shame Pippen was a great player but never as good as MJ...Iverson is a dick
jordan the best ever...nobody could ever take his place..he is the best player who ever played the game of basketball. i hope someday that there will be another jordan the could dominate the game whenever he likes....jordan, your the best ever...
i like how this shows that pippen was still great without mj, even if it was only for a few clips. he is, after all, a HOF and almost took a team to the finals on his own.
Much love on this, I grew up in Illinois. I remember watching the second one. The song you put is perfect. Why aren't there more charitable all-star games now?
Um, Pippen was, what, 28 or 29 in 1995? That's when the game took place. What the hell does 2000 have to do with anything? I know this game didn't count. But Jordan PWNED Pippen.
instaed of comparing all the fuckin time, can we just appreciate what jordan, pippen magic and others did for the game of basketball?all this shit bout kobe, bron jordan, melo and others is blowin the fuck out of me.stop comparing..all are superstars, and give us a chance to hope aswell as dream..u feel me?
sometimes i wonder why MJ didnt do more windmills and 360's..if anyone could do it it was him. and how can u not love magic..that guy was special and its cool to see how he and MJ got along.
MJ said he didn't do those types of dunks because everyone else can do them. He used his hand-size advantage to do the one-handed, creative dunks more.
Scottie Pippen is the 2nd best small forward ever behind Larry Legend. Scottie Pippen is the best defensive small foward ever and he guard the greatest player ever and MJ torched him. Its funny cuz Scottie know MJ better than anybody and he cant do NOTHING TO STOP HIM. LOL. ITS NICE TO SEE THEM LOL N HAVE FUN 2GETHER. MJ is just a raw talent and a once in a lifetime talent. Just awesome. Great video.
Great Video bruhh! This video really brought me back to the memory of the day when I fell in love with watching Mike do his thing on the court. It was in the 1987 dunk contest when I would forever be a Jordan fan! Thanks again for a great trip down memory lane! Take care :)
It's okay, Kobe was getting abused by Barbosa and Nash all series last postseason, and neither is nearly as quick as a 21 year old Iverson. And Kobe was 27, not 34 lol. Guess Kobe's an "average" one-on-one defender. Ron Artest got abused by Wade in the playoffs a few years back, and the difference in their heights is only about 2-3", and Ron was only 24-25. Guess he's an average defender too.
MJ's been dunked on, stolen from, blocked etc. It happens to the best of us. Smaller guards usually are quicker than taller ones. MJ has been beaten worse by a young Stoudamire. Doesn't mean Stoudamire is better than AI does it?
i agree with jordanlover- taller guys have a harder time guarding smaller players. That doesnt mean they are bad defenders, just simple physics- would be sad if 6 ft guards in the NBA couldnt beat 6'6 guys off the dribble at least half the time. If that was the case, they shouldnt be in the league as quickness is their meal ticket. Also, jordan was 34, and his legs were not waht they used to be.
wait- b/c he bit on cross over hes a bad defender?? you obviously dont play basketball and if you do your probably one of those streetball types who dont pass and cant play organized. BTW- iverson did that to jordan when he was towards the tail end of his career- still dominant but a little slower.
To Spacestranaut: Yes, I play ball... both street and organized... and my game is nice. Please explain your point. In a basketball sense, the words "dominant" and "slower" seem to be contradictory. Can you be both at the same time?
If not for Scottie Pippen, Jordan would never have won a ring... Last I checked all six titles were won while they were playing together. Jordan put up amazing stats before Pippen came along, but lacked success in the playoffs.
Not sure about that. In MJ's last season as a Bull, Pip missed 40 games that season and the Bulls won 62 games. Remember game 6 of MJ's last finals? Pip went out injured and played only 26 minutes. MJ took over, as usual.
Also, in Pip's first year, he started in 0 games. MJ brought Pip under his wing and made him the player he was. It's likely MJ would have made any 6-8 forward great with his teaching. MJ would have still gotten his rings by making 'x' forward great - just like Shaq got his ring with Wade.
You think MJ taught Pippen to play ball? So Jordan single handedly molded one of the game's 50 greatest players and arguably the greatest player to ever play the SF position!? So Jordan trained one of the greatest one-on-one defenders in history of game, although he was an average one-on-one defender!? Wait, who locked up Magic Johnson to beat the Showtime Lakers?... Jordan was very fortunate to have Pippen on his team, else Pippen very likely would've been his greatest rival.
You got it on the button. MJ mentored Scottie very heavily as he saw that he was willing to play defense and learn. You can see him improve over those first few years. Phil talks about this a lot in his books. Pip came to his own around 90-91 and started to share the toughest assignments. Pip also had the length to be more versatile. Don't forget, Pip also had the best practice as well guarding MJ in scrimmages.
But you're right. Pip was the perfect complement to MJ. Would MJ have won just as much without Pip? With that Bulls team, they probably would have found a way to win with MJ bringing out the best in his team. But of course, all great players need 1-2 more great players to win.
Cool... I didn't mean to get so defensive, but I get tired of people giving Jordan all the props for the six titles. People often forget that Pippen almost won the MVP in '94 (He was the all-star game MVP)without Jordan and that they posted 55 wins that year... only 3 wins fewer than the previous year with Jordan. When experts predicted a collapse of the Bulls team without Jordan, they were still a title contender. By the way, Wade won the title WITH Shaq. Don't get it twisted.
LOL @ Jordan being "an average one-on-one defender." Wow, where do these people come from? He was better than Pippen at it, though perhaps not as consistent after 1993.
Please man... Jordan was indeed an AVERAGE one-on-one defender. He made his money playing passing lanes, getting out on the break, and finishing with dunks. Wanna know who was actually causing the turnovers with their suffocating defense?... Scottie Pippen.
P.S. If Jordan was such a great defender, why did young Iverson break his ankles twice on the same play. Jordan bit on the same crossover twice... See for yourself, i'm sure it's all over YouTube.
LOL you clearly know nothing. Iverson? You mean that play where a 34 year old Jordan was matched up against a 21 year old player 6" shorter than him who happens to be one of the quickest players of all-time, and who was allowed to carry the ball to a ridiculous degree (illegally)? The play where Jordan missed blocking the shot by a tenth of a second? THAT play?
To Jordanlover23: Age should be no excuse for the "greatest" player ever. Since when is a height advantage a disadvantage. His advantage in length should've allowed him to recover faster on the play and BLOCK (not closely contest)the shot... And the legality of Iverson's game... Please don't even get me started. Jordan absolutely benefited from many questionable no-calls in his career.
Lol, dude whatever your smokin, I want some of that shit. Age catches up with everyone, and if you don't believe that then there's something wrong with your head.
Are you kidding? Jordan was not nearly the defender he was after his first retirement. Everyone knew it, he had trouble guarding Damon Stoudemire and the other smallish guards during his second stint with the bulls. But your basing his defensive abilities based on what you saw in his early to mid 30s? Most scouts will tell you that MJ was the better one-on-one defender in his prime than Scottie. Scottie was the better team defender.
I'm not starting anything I'm just telling you what most people who are involved and know the game have observed about the two. And saying Jordan was average defender is just plain wrong. And to use your analogy I've seen Pippen constantly getting schooled by Kobe I guess that makes him an average defender too.
If that were actually the case, sure. Pippen isn't any better a defender than Jordan and Jordan isn't that much better a defender than Scottie. But I think i'll take a scouts take over yours any day.
What do you know? Did you not see him get thoroughly manhandled by Kobe Bryant in the 2000 Western Confernce Finals. And a side note; Scottie Pippen didn't "lock down" Magic. Pip played him well, but he still averaged 19 ppg and almost averaged a triple-double that series
At first, all anyone could talk about was the Michael Jordan vs. Magic Johnson match-up. But as the series carried on, it was clear that it was going to take much more than one individual for either team to succeed.
Jordan was superb, averaging 31.2 points, 11.4 assists and 6.6 rebounds, but the Bulls were no one-man team. Their defense held the Lakers to a record-low 458 points for a five-game series.
Pippen and Jordan combined to score 62 points and pass for 17 assists in the clincher.
At first, Head Coach Phil Jackson designated MJ to guard Johnson, with relief help from Pippen.
"It's tough to guard Magic and then go down and be expected to carry the load offensively," Jordan said following the series opener. "It's a challenge, but I have to do it."
However, things changed in Game 2 when the Bulls discovered a new defensive stopper. Pippen switched over onto Johnson after Jordan picked up his second personal foul in the first quarter and did an outstanding job on the Lakers' star, pestering him into 4-for-13 shooting.
"I didn't know what to expect to be honest," Pippen said of the assignment.
"I had never defended Magic, and I had never defended a guy with his size and ability. So when Michael picked up that second foul, I just said I'd guard him."
The Lakers were outmanned by the younger, more athletic Bulls. Wherever Johnson went, he was hounded by the fourth-year Pippen, who combined to pressure his every step and harassed him into 22 turnovers.
"I decided I was going to try to work him and wear him down as best as I could. That was my plan, and whether it affected him initially, I didn't know if it would or not. I just focused on wearing him down for the long haul—not just that game but throughout the whole series."
The Bulls dropped the opening game in Chicago, but wouldn't lose again, taking the series, 4-1. Pippen led all scorers in the decisive fifth game with 32 points and 13 boards.
Exactly my point, if he could point to the fact that MJ got crossed up by AI when he was 33, 34 to say he was an average defender why can't I used the same logic with Pippen.
Exactly. Perimeter defense is one of the first skills to erode as age begins to set in. Lateral movement slows, feet slow, etc. However, both MJ and Pippen in their primes could have slowed down KB quite a bit. KB can't say the same about his D on MJ.
Pippen definitely was great, but not equal to MJ. MJ from the get-go, became a leader to his team. Pippen developed over his career and MJ helped him to get to his status now. Together they were almost indestructible.
It is certainly a reason my friend. Any athlete of any sports is slowdown by age. Air Jordan would have pounded A.I. Luckily for Iverson it was MJ who was guarding him in that famous crossover move.
Come on now, it's just ONE CROSSOVER. Everyone gets crossed in the league especially if they are defending Allen Iverson, one of the greatest dribblers ever. I've seen Lebron get crossed by Tayshaun, who is not even an elite ball handler. It's not right to judge MJ's defensive abilities over 1 freakin crossover.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I've been trying to tell people this for YEARS! Sure, Jordan got faked a little bit on the play, but at least he got a hand in the guy's face and, as you've pointed out, nearly blocked the shot! There have been players that have been caught flat-footed and completely frozen by Iverson's "cross-over" but yet those defenders don't catch as much heat as Jordan does. Iverson didn't even blow by Jordan after the move, which would warrant more credit.
loved the music, and since this was the last game played at chicago "Madhouse on Madison" stadium, MJ took part of the court and put it in his house as the floor of his trophy room. The next season the bulls played in the United Center.
If Jordan was 25 instead of 34 that shot gets sent to the front row. Jordan wouldn't have had to bite on the fake cross as much either since he could have trusted his footspeed more as opposed to having to anticipate the drive. Jordan was pretty easily a top 5-7 man-on-man defender in league history. Apparently everyone except you knows this.
I had chance to go to the '95 game but decided not to because MJ at first said he wouldn't play...but he later accepted Scottie's invite when he found out it was the last game ever at old Chicago Stadium.
Unbelievable...I had heard the legend of this game but had never seen it. MJ was frickin RETIRED and still did that to one of the best at the time players in the game...absolutely amazing.
HoopsEncyclopedia you have really spoiled us. I mean posting all these amazing clips of Michael Jordan really does bring back some astonishing memories of my childhood. I really appreciate it! After 23 comes 33...
Scottie was a good sport for someone who had his ass handed to him. That was the greatness of Michael Jordan: he couldn't turn his competitive drive off.
I always felt Pippen would've been a great defender against Jordan. Pippen had the quickness to guard against his drives, the length and leaping ability to challenge his shots, and the defensive instincts to react to his moves. Ahh, we'll never know.. =)
Even mj's lay-up is so beautiful....

Um, Pippen was, what, 28 or 29 in 1995? That's when the game took place. What the hell does 2000 have to do with anything? I know this game didn't count. But Jordan PWNED Pippen.

Guess he's an average defender too.
jordanlover23 5 years ago
MJ's been dunked on, stolen from, blocked etc. It happens to the best of us. Smaller guards usually are quicker than taller ones. MJ has been beaten worse by a young Stoudamire. Doesn't mean Stoudamire is better than AI does it?
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
i agree with jordanlover- taller guys have a harder time guarding smaller players. That doesnt mean they are bad defenders, just simple physics- would be sad if 6 ft guards in the NBA couldnt beat 6'6 guys off the dribble at least half the time. If that was the case, they shouldnt be in the league as quickness is their meal ticket. Also, jordan was 34, and his legs were not waht they used to be.
spacestranaut 5 years ago
not to mention the tendinitis he was experiencing in his knees as he got older.
bobo0383 4 years ago
wait- b/c he bit on cross over hes a bad defender?? you obviously dont play basketball and if you do your probably one of those streetball types who dont pass and cant play organized. BTW- iverson did that to jordan when he was towards the tail end of his career- still dominant but a little slower.
spacestranaut 5 years ago
To Spacestranaut: Yes, I play ball... both street and organized... and my game is nice. Please explain your point. In a basketball sense, the words "dominant" and "slower" seem to be contradictory. Can you be both at the same time?
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
If not for Scottie Pippen, Jordan would never have won a ring... Last I checked all six titles were won while they were playing together. Jordan put up amazing stats before Pippen came along, but lacked success in the playoffs.
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
Not sure about that. In MJ's last season as a Bull, Pip missed 40 games that season and the Bulls won 62 games. Remember game 6 of MJ's last finals? Pip went out injured and played only 26 minutes. MJ took over, as usual.
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
Also, in Pip's first year, he started in 0 games. MJ brought Pip under his wing and made him the player he was. It's likely MJ would have made any 6-8 forward great with his teaching. MJ would have still gotten his rings by making 'x' forward great - just like Shaq got his ring with Wade.
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
You think MJ taught Pippen to play ball? So Jordan single handedly molded one of the game's 50 greatest players and arguably the greatest player to ever play the SF position!? So Jordan trained one of the greatest one-on-one defenders in history of game, although he was an average one-on-one defender!? Wait, who locked up Magic Johnson to beat the Showtime Lakers?... Jordan was very fortunate to have Pippen on his team, else Pippen very likely would've been his greatest rival.
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
You got it on the button. MJ mentored Scottie very heavily as he saw that he was willing to play defense and learn. You can see him improve over those first few years. Phil talks about this a lot in his books. Pip came to his own around 90-91 and started to share the toughest assignments. Pip also had the length to be more versatile. Don't forget, Pip also had the best practice as well guarding MJ in scrimmages.
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
But you're right. Pip was the perfect complement to MJ. Would MJ have won just as much without Pip? With that Bulls team, they probably would have found a way to win with MJ bringing out the best in his team. But of course, all great players need 1-2 more great players to win.
hoopsencyclopedia 5 years ago
Don't get it twisted.
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
LOL @ Jordan being "an average one-on-one defender." Wow, where do these people come from? He was better than Pippen at it, though perhaps not as consistent after 1993.
jordanlover23 5 years ago
Please man... Jordan was indeed an AVERAGE one-on-one defender. He made his money playing passing lanes, getting out on the break, and finishing with dunks. Wanna know who was actually causing the turnovers with their suffocating defense?... Scottie Pippen.
P.S. If Jordan was such a great defender, why did young Iverson break his ankles twice on the same play. Jordan bit on the same crossover twice... See for yourself, i'm sure it's all over YouTube.
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
LOL you clearly know nothing. Iverson? You mean that play where a 34 year old Jordan was matched up against a 21 year old player 6" shorter than him who happens to be one of the quickest players of all-time, and who was allowed to carry the ball to a ridiculous degree (illegally)? The play where Jordan missed blocking the shot by a tenth of a second? THAT play?
jordanlover23 5 years ago
To Jordanlover23: Age should be no excuse for the "greatest" player ever. Since when is a height advantage a disadvantage. His advantage in length should've allowed him to recover faster on the play and BLOCK (not closely contest)the shot... And the legality of Iverson's game... Please don't even get me started. Jordan absolutely benefited from many questionable no-calls in his career.
dontleavehimopen 5 years ago
Lol, dude whatever your smokin, I want some of that shit. Age catches up with everyone, and if you don't believe that then there's something wrong with your head.
uberathlete 4 years ago
Are you kidding? Jordan was not nearly the defender he was after his first retirement. Everyone knew it, he had trouble guarding Damon Stoudemire and the other smallish guards during his second stint with the bulls. But your basing his defensive abilities based on what you saw in his early to mid 30s? Most scouts will tell you that MJ was the better one-on-one defender in his prime than Scottie. Scottie was the better team defender.
bobo0383 4 years ago
Are we going to have to start this up all over again? All I'm saying is this: Jordan was great, but Pippen was just as great.
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
I'm not starting anything I'm just telling you what most people who are involved and know the game have observed about the two. And saying Jordan was average defender is just plain wrong. And to use your analogy I've seen Pippen constantly getting schooled by Kobe I guess that makes him an average defender too.
bobo0383 4 years ago
Alright, i'll compromise... Jordan was a great defender, Pippen was a phenomenal defender. Satisfied?
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
If that were actually the case, sure. Pippen isn't any better a defender than Jordan and Jordan isn't that much better a defender than Scottie. But I think i'll take a scouts take over yours any day.
bobo0383 4 years ago
What do scouts know? Didn't the scouts see Scottie lock down Magic when the Bulls won their first title?
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
What do you know? Did you not see him get thoroughly manhandled by Kobe Bryant in the 2000 Western Confernce Finals. And a side note; Scottie Pippen didn't "lock down" Magic. Pip played him well, but he still averaged 19 ppg and almost averaged a triple-double that series
bobo0383 4 years ago
At first, all anyone could talk about was the Michael Jordan vs. Magic Johnson match-up. But as the series carried on, it was clear that it was going to take much more than one individual for either team to succeed.
Jordan was superb, averaging 31.2 points, 11.4 assists and 6.6 rebounds, but the Bulls were no one-man team. Their defense held the Lakers to a record-low 458 points for a five-game series.
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
Pippen and Jordan combined to score 62 points and pass for 17 assists in the clincher.
At first, Head Coach Phil Jackson designated MJ to guard Johnson, with relief help from Pippen.
"It's tough to guard Magic and then go down and be expected to carry the load offensively," Jordan said following the series opener. "It's a challenge, but I have to do it."
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
However, things changed in Game 2 when the Bulls discovered a new defensive stopper. Pippen switched over onto Johnson after Jordan picked up his second personal foul in the first quarter and did an outstanding job on the Lakers' star, pestering him into 4-for-13 shooting.
"I didn't know what to expect to be honest," Pippen said of the assignment.
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
"I had never defended Magic, and I had never defended a guy with his size and ability. So when Michael picked up that second foul, I just said I'd guard him."
The Lakers were outmanned by the younger, more athletic Bulls. Wherever Johnson went, he was hounded by the fourth-year Pippen, who combined to pressure his every step and harassed him into 22 turnovers.
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
"I decided I was going to try to work him and wear him down as best as I could. That was my plan, and whether it affected him initially, I didn't know if it would or not. I just focused on wearing him down for the long haul—not just that game but throughout the whole series."
The Bulls dropped the opening game in Chicago, but wouldn't lose again, taking the series, 4-1. Pippen led all scorers in the decisive fifth game with 32 points and 13 boards.
dontleavehimopen 4 years ago
in 2000 Pippen had been in the league 13 years. He was past his prime, and not nearly as good defensively as he once had been.
utfanatic2000 4 years ago
Exactly my point, if he could point to the fact that MJ got crossed up by AI when he was 33, 34 to say he was an average defender why can't I used the same logic with Pippen.
bobo0383 4 years ago
Exactly. Perimeter defense is one of the first skills to erode as age begins to set in. Lateral movement slows, feet slow, etc. However, both MJ and Pippen in their primes could have slowed down KB quite a bit. KB can't say the same about his D on MJ.
utfanatic2000 4 years ago
Pippen definitely was great, but not equal to MJ. MJ from the get-go, became a leader to his team. Pippen developed over his career and MJ helped him to get to his status now. Together they were almost indestructible.
28sphinx23 4 years ago
It is certainly a reason my friend. Any athlete of any sports is slowdown by age. Air Jordan would have pounded A.I. Luckily for Iverson it was MJ who was guarding him in that famous crossover move.
mjdbest 4 years ago
Come on now, it's just ONE CROSSOVER. Everyone gets crossed in the league especially if they are defending Allen Iverson, one of the greatest dribblers ever. I've seen Lebron get crossed by Tayshaun, who is not even an elite ball handler. It's not right to judge MJ's defensive abilities over 1 freakin crossover.
28sphinx23 4 years ago
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I've been trying to tell people this for YEARS! Sure, Jordan got faked a little bit on the play, but at least he got a hand in the guy's face and, as you've pointed out, nearly blocked the shot! There have been players that have been caught flat-footed and completely frozen by Iverson's "cross-over" but yet those defenders don't catch as much heat as Jordan does. Iverson didn't even blow by Jordan after the move, which would warrant more credit.
qdmasta 5 years ago
loved the music, and since this was the last game played at chicago "Madhouse on Madison" stadium, MJ took part of the court and put it in his house as the floor of his trophy room. The next season the bulls played in the United Center.
D7B 4 years ago
If Jordan was 25 instead of 34 that shot gets sent to the front row. Jordan wouldn't have had to bite on the fake cross as much either since he could have trusted his footspeed more as opposed to having to anticipate the drive. Jordan was pretty easily a top 5-7 man-on-man defender in league history. Apparently everyone except you knows this.
jordanlover23 5 years ago
Exactly, I've even read MJs most harshest critic say that defensively he was on the level of joe dumars.
