I don't want to make too much of a comparison,but having watched Joe Pass up close when he visited our house while in London years ago Jimmy Rosenberg has the same ability

to play fast technical phrases which are beautiful melodic statements.There are many great players

around,but for brilliant melodic phrasing,Jimmy,you sure have got it!I sure hope Jimmy can stay focused,his playing ill shine through.

This Guitar Genius needs only one thing... A Good Personal Manager/Friend...With the proper manager he could write his own ticket.

Elvis,Hank Williams and now Micheal Jackson could have used the same. He needs someone, be it a wife or other person to help him stay straight. I hope the very best for him.

There is that saying less is more, but he and I'm sure quite a few other guitarist can pull it off. That style is very percussive. I've seen others that are too busy just to fill up measures. Jimmy starts his runs then comes out tastefully. But it is a matter of what you like and what "wows" you. I always tell my friends check him out, he takes it to the next level.

i agree qith you the difference with jimmy is that he always end his phrases tastefully.......and everyone who play the guitar know........thats damn hard to end all your phrase tastefully.

Hear the sigh of breath at about 2:47. Talk about putting everything you've got into it! This is the most beautiful ballad on guitar i've seen on youtube. it's just phenomenal. I guess his performance can't be described in words, only in music.

Who do we compare him to? Good question? I have never seen anybody with his speed, emotion, and complete mastery of a guitar in my life! I decided to play guitar again (after many years) and bought a nice acoustic the other day but (after hearing Jimmy play I got sick too my stomach and figure "whats the point?". The guy is the best I have ever seen.

How can you come up with a conclusion after watching a 77 minutes documentary?

I have seen the documentary several times and saw him perform twice last year. I saw that Jimmy is very sick and has a lot of problems. Family and friends are trying to help him. Sadly he's not strong enough to fight his addiction. I hope he will find the strenght very soon.

people come up with conclusions about people after a few seconds all the time... he makes decisions he shouldn't take because they are not smart decisions. he's a smart musician but obviously not a smart man. anyway ...I wish him the best, I love his music!

I've said it before on another post.....Jimmy reminds of my other guitar hero; completely different styles, but the way they both rip through slow ballads with fast pentatonic licks and other hooks....amazing!!!

Wow......Jimmy shines when he plays these slow ballads, juxtaposed with his lighting fast passionate licks--is he getting emotional at the end? There is something special going on when Jimmy plays the guitar...
