In the end who cares. This isnt the first time someone has something on someone else, although it is a shame that the judge threw that womans case out.. but this is America. The only reason why this country is even relevant in the world is because of its bullying and tyranny. Many more people and countries are constantly being exploited by this government at the expense of blacks, whites, asians etc... so whats new?>
Katie Couric has always bugged the living shit out of me. She always has a condescending, f&%^ you tone to her interviews. It's like she's not really interested.
I am presently reading this book I find it very enjoyable so far. I Write and I would not use a person or a real life experience without the permission (written) of the subject. She must do her research before publishing. Great Book Though.
She seems so smart, sassy. Her voice is so calm. I read the book and watch the movie. They are truly amazing. I am not American and for me it was very interesting ro read about this part of the history of USA. Thank you, Mrs. Stockett!
Kathryn Stockett has moxy! Those wemon were trying to make this a negative thing and go all Hollywood on it and she wouldn't have it! That is classy! Kathryn Stockett realy made her point by counting her blessings not her worries!
Why did she have to lie about Exploiting Ms. Ablene Clark? ABC News has a piece on this that Ablene is STILL IS Stockett's BROTHER's help to this day! She denied that the uncanny resemblance of the real life story of Ablene from her fictional character. The twist here is Stockett's brother is taking the side of Ablene! Please do a follow up on this.
@opheliaroxs17 The author's brother has a decades long serving black nanny named Ablene. Ablene also used to babysit for the author's kids. Now the author, Miss Kathryn Stockett, has vehemently denied any association of the character "Abiline" in the movie with the real life Ablene when in fact they spoke with each other agreeing that author Stockett would not exploit her by using her name or her real life stories, which apparently are what was used in the now celebrated book.
@blognewb White woman wins again. It's pretty obvious she based her character off of her brother's nanny. But the judged ruled it out because a whole year had passed until her brother's nanny sued her after being given a copy of the book. Which means the nanny didn't know it was going to be big money until it was too late.
@blognewb I don't think she was trying to expolit Ablene, you could say that about soooo many books and films. The legal system was followed correctly, however I think Ablene should get an annonymous check and hopefully that will make her happy cause I think her most real intent was to get some financial gain from the whole thing, not to stop the book which had been out for 2 years, I believe, already. Her story is probably very much the same as many others. Just some thoughts!
Isn't it nice that Vernon's voice is so eloquent? Condescending '@&*$!
