Mind you, Edmonton didn't become part of London 'til about Sixty-five, so I s'ppose that means that Chas ain't really a Londoner either, when ya think about it like that. Chas used to practice at my dads house in the front room at Ponders End (Norfolk Rd) with my auntie Judy on washboard and my uncle(s) Colin & Roger. He recorded his first single with them at 15. I spoke to him about it at a gig and it was him who told me (amazing). Spoke with Dave as I play bass and he invited me to a beer so I sat with them for half hour chatting. Dave is such a nice bloke and not at all stuck-up. These guys play great and Britain should be proud of 'um.Yap yap rabbit yap....

I've got my stereo blasting out this song now. I bought "From Tottenham To Tennessee" as a souvenir in York. About twenty years ago I first heard their music, my father had a tape of them. The cheesy Dutch band WC Experience covered this song as "pannekoek in m'n onderbroek" -> Pancake in my underpants, which is the first version of it I heard.
