You appear to be the most charming , happy, in-love couple I think I have ever seen!! I of course was checking out the video for green ideas etc. but i have to say, I found your personae very inspirational. I will be looking over some the other 500 plus vids you have posted. Thanks
Cool toilet. Do you have to use saw dust or would you be able to use soil and still have no smell?
It would be cool if you could because after a year or two, you could use a previous years waste which has already composted, to cover fresh waste. How much cooler could that be...only one way it could be cooler but it wouldn't work...having worms in the toilet, but I guess they would climb out or drown in the wetter stuff at the bottom. Very cool video...love it.
ON THE LIGHTS THE NEW L.E.D. LIGHTS ARE EVEN BETTER SAVERS ABOUT 1 PERCENT SUPER BRIGHT CAN ALSO BE USED WITH A DIMMER ,AND MUCH MUCH SAFER.(NO MERCURY GAS)
Shalom! These are my favorite kinds of episodes! Love the garden & self sustainable tips etc...When you guys are on the road you obviously can't do it but they're my favorite!
Just a thought about those lightbulbs - they are supposed to produce 'dirty electricity' and of course they contain mercury, which means you have to dispose of them at toxic waste places ..
ummm...I was wondering what it is you use to wipe away residual Mr. Hankys' from your hiney? Do you still use loo paper or something like Mr.Hankys' hanky ?
@zerocats Go ahead and enjoy your unnatural chemical filled, hormone enriched and nutrient depleted mass produced stuff they are more than willing to sell you.
Love the video and cant wait to see it come into being. I am also considering this method myself. Peace. I highly recomend Humanure for everyone to read.
People who eat mainly raw food generate massive amounts of compost waste - I do anyway! It's totally fantastic for the garden. I find that adding dry material like cardboard really helps to break it down without smell. There are always more worms when there is a balance of dry and wet materials. That's what the sawdust does with the compost loo. Compost waste doesn't smell when there's this balance.
It's such a waste to throw those nutrients away to pollute rivers and the sea. Well done Paul!
Question. was wondering about source of sawdust? as a lot of wood is soooooo yucky treated. we stopped putting saw dust on our small holding (some years back) we dont have it now. but we ended up collecting sea weed (we are close to ocean) and that was good and deters slug critters too. nite nite.
Awesome Paul! I hope you and the family find this easy to use, composting toilets are great! Especially outside. What's better than pooping in the breeze, looking out over your garden on a nice summer evening? I just wondered if you've ever looked into squatting? I believe that this is one of the MOST important things we could be doing even over the food that goes in the top end. The beautiful human body was created to evacuate waste in a squatting position. Blessings.
Man Paul you are going all out. I would defintley like to see what the update opinion is after a few weeks of use. I am the weird one I just dont think my hubby would go for the toliet.
we have just changed our light bulbs 2 daylight, & full spectrum - makes a lot of diffeence,
Torches - Andrea, U can get wind up torches now, we got some for in case ? and also the candles, you can get soya candles now and we use (not vegan I guess) we use the bee wax candles. they are far less yucky in the air and if you want perfume, just use essential oils (WITH CARE)
Really inspired with your toilet. IF you were inspired by mother mag, give them a plug on your utube. much love. x

It smells anyway, light a match in the bathroom to absorb gaseous odors.

YOu can get saw dust from a local place that deals with wood. It took me some time but I found a great place near me.

I know you mean pulp from juicing crackers, but since you are talking about toilets, etc. it sounds confusing and kinda gross.
