In spite of their best efforts and the hundreds of millions of dollars that they poured into the election, republicans were only able to gain a few seats in the Senate and take the House, which was expected to change hands from the onset. Come to think of if Kata, you're right. I'm just disappointed that we're not fighting hard enough. For example Prop 19. I thought it would be a slam dunk win for CA, but they lost bigtime. I just found out that the people of CA didn't try to push that prop at all. I think we need Progressives or Democrats ith a fucking BACKBONE or a new 3rd party.

@Voodooray007 well, we need to push this 3rd party THROUGH the democratic party. that's how the teabaggers did it. the koch brothers spents zillions to motivate the racists and freaks and weirdos to come up through the gop hierarchy.
we need to get all of our people involved on the local level, just like the baggers did. take these local races.

Kata, I agree with what you are saying in this video. My problem with the Dems is, we had the house, the senate, and the oval office, but we still walked around like pussies. The legislation that we have passed is either weak or watered down to a point, where it is ALMOST USELESS. If the Dems can't get things done when they are fully in charge, how can we expect any progress from them, when they are on the ropes?

@MrROLLO70 by getting involved in the Democratic Party in your town, townships, local precincts. it's great that you vote, but as voters we're only choosing from the menu they give us. we have to roll up our sleeves and take over the kitchen as well.

@silver6kraid every Dem not in the party hierarchy wants to fight. every Democrat not in the party hierarchy wants to expand healthcare reform, as does that majority of Americans. WE have to take over the party. a third party is a lousy option, because it just splits the base. unless our third party operates within the DEM structure, as the baggers did.
we the people, out here in the cities, towns and farms outside of the beltway, need to unite around IDEAS, and cooperate with each other.

@KataVideo Perhaps we can make a tea party equivalent then. A grass roots movement that is the opposite of the crazy Tea party. A group that wants to take back the Democratic party and bring real change, I mean hell, if it worked for the conservatards maybe it can work for us.

@classicallady classy, don't worry: even with zillionaires self-financing the most expensive campaigns EVER, even with all of that secret karl rove corporate money, they still couldn't take the senate. and they'll never crack the cities, they hate the black and brown people who live in cities.
