In Asia, some, have attached a collar and leesh to the Cormorant and train it, to use its skills to catch fish. The collar stops the Cormorant eating the fish, so they can remove the fish. They losen it off to allow it to eat a fish every so often. I thought this was only for a commercial for a bank in uk. But googled it and found it to be true.
I love watching them, they are like periscopes on submarines, but are at home in the lakes. The reserve has large numbers, because they are not persecuted, and dont eat all the fish ;)
I felt for the Cormorant when the gull took his fish .. I never heard of these birds before very interesting 5 star video for sure .Thank you for sharing :D
When they are swimming low in water - reminds me of the snake bird I've seen in Florida - first time I saw one, I did think it was a snake in the water!!!
The Cormorant IS fun to watch as he airs his wings as if saying - ok guys here I am, look at my beautiful wings, ain't they purdy! he he
Those slow-motion gulls are awesome!

I think the Cormorant is a beautiful bird....looks so elegant while drying it's wings.
Unfortunately over here they are thinking of having a cull to lower the numbers...
Why? I don't know....I just don't understand.
