This composition has the whole "Sound in Time/Organized Sound" thing going with it, even though it isn't apparent right away. This sounds like any actual song or instrumental ever made with those musical guidelines. Sounds like music to me. The only people who won't call this music is the musically unlearned, and trolls who say so for lulz.

I see the artistry in the changing time signatures, but the screaming I prefer in my DM is like that in Mastodon: USED FOR EFFECT. Mastodon uses their screamer Tory Sanders as singer at times, and the clashing vocal styles of the guitarist, drummer, and Tory work really well. They have songs that are all screams, and those are pretty good. However, I prefer it when the songs have singing predominantly.

@rakadungdung That is pretty much saying that anything that is unpleasing to your ear is an abomination from the main genre. As I said, this isn't my type of Metal, but I still like it a bit. Bands that do this weird switching stuff (Like Between the Buried and Me) I really don't like that much. Mainly cause it's annoying and doesn't flow that great till it's near the end/middle. I still slightly like it, though. As I said, genre is genre, you'll like some and hate others. This includes Subgenre

I hate this song too. But it's still every bit music as anything else is. Just because your ears aren't trained to pick up the rhythm and melody doesn't make it not music. This isn't a mess of noise. It's an orchestrated work. I personally don't like it, but it's damn well music, and takes a damn large amount of skill to play and compose.
