The 188 hectare state of the art complex is large enough to accommodate future expansions includes the following:

Mechanical building

2-storey Administration Building

Maintenance Building

Fire Rescue Stations with a fleet of Mercedes Benz firetrucks imported from Italy

The mechanical building houses the chiller room, and water supply and pump room, while the cooling system for the whole airport is about 2,400kw, consisting of five units of chillers, each having a capacity of 600kw

Entire electrical system of the airport can generate 2,500kVA supply of power, while the generator room is equipped with 4 units of 500kVA standby generator and automatically switch-on during power failure

Runway lights and an Instrument Landing System have also been installed, making the airport capable of supporting landings during low visibility and at night, and runway designation designed to cater to even bad weather conditions

Sewage Treatment Plant which can separate the liquid from solid waste, which is then processed into an organic material (fertilizer) for the plants. The liquid is recycled for watering purposes

This airport is the most modern in Philippines infrastructure wise. A joint effort of the Phil. government and the Japan Airport Consultants, Inc. and constructed by Taisei-Shimizu Joint Venture of Japan. What you're looking at is the departure area in the video. The New Iloilo Airport is the first to have modern, latest technology, belonging to Category F, as determined by the International Civil Aviation (ICA) Organization.

Sooner this airport will have an international flights,Cathay Pacific have a ticketing office along Gen. Luna St.right now,if demands increases, big big possibility that iloilo airport will have the first international flight.CHEERS!!

New Iloilo Airport has state of the art equipments & facilities that comply the FAA standard as category F and passed the ICAO assesment as requirement for international flight. The govt. already informed local & foreign airlines and declared open for international flight.

Last year my friend went home straight to Cebu from San Francisco via Hongkong thus avoiding the crowd and customs hustle in Manila. I believe Cathay Pacific was the carrier. If Cebu can do this, why not Iloilo? Does the new Iloilo airport has the capability or needed more equipment/s like Crash/Fire Rescue vehicles capable of attending the needs of bigger aircraft like they do in international airports? I suspected this is one of the requirements they are lacking.
