Edgar Prado only gets 2 mounts, over the 2 day Breeder's Cup and wins a race. A hall of fame rider for a reason, now please tell me who are the trainers/owners who keep picking all these sucker jockeys to ride their horses and they get 7-10 mounts and don't win a race, go figure.
@Borealpferd - I agree. BUT Woodbine has a Fabulous Turf course, and we Always get a lot of Euro's coming across for the Pattison Canadian International(G-1 Turf),Woodbine Mile (G1), and the Northern Dancer Stakes (G2)
LOVE the way ESPN shot this race, really captured the essence of the race under the lights! Loved seeing the three under the lights, they should run more BC races under the lights next year!
@drofheim The turf at Churchill Downs was regularly watered due to the drought, but not to sogginess. It evens out at Dubai where the turf is liberally watered as it was earlier this year. Hopefully, we'll see Workforce there.
@drofheim Oh please, back out of the BC because the turf is too firm(?!?!?!?!?!?!) that has to be the weakest excuse I've ever heard for backing out of a race, especially the BC. I mean come on, he's the only one who backed out, everyone else ran
As per usual, the F&M turf is the most exciting race to watch. This is always the race I look forward to as its always an exciting finish, and this was the race I most enjoyed today, I just wish Eclair de Lune could have kept going, but great race to watch
@Borealpferd Yes I did read somewhere McAnally said something like "Give her time to develop, she'll really com around" don't remember exactly but along those lines about Eclair de Lune, which is why he didn't run her again between the Beverly D. and the BC, but for me she's one horse I'm definitely going to look out for next year!!
I had a notion that Midday was beatable today. But I didn't think it would come from Shared Account. I backed the Japanese filly, Red Desire in this race. I really thought she had the best shot at getting Midday. Her, or John Shirreffs filly, Harmonius. Red Desire had been working really impressively all week long at Churchill Downs. Kent Desormeax had even commented that she was working so well, he wished she was in the Classic. That had some to do with me backing her as well.
@GBeret83 I don't think anyone expected Shared Account otherwise she wouldn't have been 45-1 lol, Red Desire definitely disappointed, and I was hoping Eclair de Lune would keep her momentum through the stretch, but very exciting race nonetheless, after the Classic, the best race run at BC 2010, imo
I have her for the repeat! The price may be as high as it was here too :D

@d9y8l7a6n5, some of 2011's races will be under the lights as Churchill Downs is the host of the 2011 Breeder's Cup

He will be retired for the season now, maybe his career who knows, but I hope he goes for the Arc again.

Though I thought Midday would win, it was exciting to see a long shot come through.

Well done Churchill Downs, your ignorance in not watering track means we lose out on seeing the Arc winner at the BC, well done.

as I thought the European horses have difficulty running on very small track, I think there will be surprises on the turf, too bad for us!

@kirikou441 Ah, jinxed us. We just won the turf.

I didn't think Midday would win. Very nice race for this filly, but I was hoping for a whole lot more from Harmonious.
