  • Now I can build one in gmod.

  • Very good little video everybody would like to fly a helicopter my son who was 18 decided just that he qualified for his commercial pilot's licence when he was 19 years old the only problem is he cannot get a job flying in New Zealand maybe he could go to Australia or Canada and get a flying job or maybe not. The other down fall is he also owns $100,000 New Zealand dollars on a student loan. So if you could help with a flying job let me know thank you.

  • Thank you so much for the Dramatization warning @ 2:50 I wasn't sure......

  • You say to add a bit of right pedal on lift-off. Not so with the R44. Pulling pitch will cause the tail to torque left so you input left pedal. Your diagram shows a chopper whose blade turns the opposite way of the R44

  • Don't trust the title on this one folks. I crashed my new helicopter even after watching this TWICE!

  • All that worries me is if the engine fails,I dont think you can auto rotate from very high up,and you certainly cant glide to a park,i would want a twin engine job to be sure,to be sure as the Irishman said.

  • @adoreslaurel the higher the better in case of engine failure. You can auto-rotate as long as you have enough height or forward speed at time of engine failure

  • @friendofrosto I am confused as to how forward speed could help as lose of power combined with drag would soon slow you down and there is a lot of free air either side of that skinny little spinning thing on top, gimme the silk from 1000 plus feet up.

  • @adoreslaurel you want forward speed when auto-rotating in for a landing. You actually skid in.

  • nice video But what will happen if the helicopter Get mechanical failure lol that will be the last chance of your life

  • Private license training in an R-22 is about $12,000 - $15,000 USD, R-44 is $15,000 - $20,000 USD with a range of 40-60 hours of flight time. Commercial license training in an R-22 $36,000 - $40,000 USD, R-44 $65,000 - $70,000 USD with a range of 150-160 hours of flight time. Prices will vary by location of the school, how many hours your flight instructor flies with you and in some cases the current price of fuel. If you wish to pursue instrument, CFI, or CFII rating it will cost even more.

  • i hope everybody knows that it's not very hard... he's not that amazing.

  • If you push the controlls as much as you do, your dead

  • G'day mite!

  • Watch "HANGAR CRASH" on youtube and you'll see how safe it's...

  • @Tamaztikanadze Yea. 1 crashed. Due to pilot error. So by your logic: I saw someone trip and fall the other week. Guess walking isn't safe either.

  • crap i dont know how to turn it on

  • Not that expensive? Well in Sweden it is VERY expensive to start flying helicopters (I have searched for schools) so now I fly airplanes instead and hopefully in the future I'll have the money required as I'm still rather young.

  • GREAT explanation !! but, how does a turbine works different then this one ? Thx

  • @rdalben in a helicopter a turbine engine and a piston engine both have the same goal (to turn an output shaft/power the rotors). the way these two types of engines get the job done are very different(search "4 stroke engine" and Turbine engine"), each having its strengths and weaknesses, with the main variables being weight, fuel consumption, and general operating/maint costs.

  • @rdalben The non-turbine is just like a car engine. It uses pistons moving up and down to turn a crank which turns the rotors. In a turbine there are no pistons. It is basically a multi-stage air compressor which sucks in cold air like a fan, compresses it with spinning turbines, mixes it with fuel and continually ignites it to create even more pressure/power. The spinning turbines drive the rotors.

  • some say, you never fly an aircraft where the wings are going faster than the rest of the craft! :)

  • Hi am Sam It's super i like good and thank to you for this video

  • And how much of petrol does it need to stand a hour in the air?

  • Whats the name/mark of this helicopter? And how many green bugs does it cost?

  • I love Bell Helicopters.

  • Yeah, this is the job i would like to have :(

  • When I was in Maui I got a helicopter ride and it's so weird gliding over the runway at low altitude and seeing the ground beneath your feet.

  • it's so unsafe :@ :@ but lot of fun

  • @Tamaztikanadze So unsafe? Actually a helicopter is incredibly safe, even in the event of a complete engine failure. I fly both helicopters and fixed wing, and if something goes wrong, I'd rather be in the helicopter any day. In an emergency, you can land a helicopter just about anywhere. Luckily in 16 years of flying I haven't had an incident, but we train for them all the time just in case.

  • @Tamaztikanadze its actualy safe

  • Trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks.

  • I never flew one before but it doesn't look that hard

  • Pfft... if I can fly in BF3 I can do it in real life.

  • @ZeAntiNooob lol. not necessarily...

  • @ZeAntiNooob light posts man... light posts..

  • @ZeAntiNooob yes, do you? well I have already begun to fly by chopper in BF2 by joystick. it isnt hard and isnt easy. you think if you can do it in game you can do it in real life? ...as I got you.

  • I was going to do this for a job. Its a pity there is fuck all aviation work in australia. A friend of mine fly's for a living and he's an excellent pilot. He's had to go overseas for work because its so hard to get a decent job here. Most of the chopper pilots he has met have spent 7 or 8 years flying around checking fences on properties in the middle of nowhere in a desperate attempt to get hours and experience. Its sad.

  • @slickstrings Why is that sad? That's what flying choppers is about. It's work. Checking fences, mustering cattle, shooting camels, spotting fires, rescue operations. Flying outback is awesome!

  • @robertsmitsnz im not saying its not cool or useful, but when someone does it for 10 years desperately trying to get a different and decent paying job, its a shame that such a talent doent attract decent pay

  • Dear Santa....

  • So... Damned... expensive...

  • Sorry Mate, ya gota to use the volume controls on the interviews much to soft with the rest of the program.

  • I love youtube, now when I go to steal a corporate helicopter, or any other vehicle I just look up "How to operate ______ " hahaha

  • "instinctive helicopters are awesome" hahaha love that line

  • 2:50 "Not an actual helicopter rotor blade" lol no shit sherlock xD

  • Where's the death machine?

  • @thewiitry if you mean the GUA-2/A then it would be partially illegal to have but it would be awhile before you could get one

  • Great video!

  • @armytaskforce11x are you stupid? Their in britain you moron

  • @L33Tkitten97 Before you call someone a moron, you might try learing how to spell "they're."

  • @L33Tkitten97 And, while you're at it, you might want to check the location of Australia.

  • @L33Tkitten97

Sorry MATE!! Its OZZ that's right, Melbourne is in Victoria, Victoria is in Australia! not Britain.

  • 1:10

  • dam you can do anything with these bad boys and get away with it like shooting a ar15 out the side in open land ,it's like a portable shooting range dam i love america.

  • This video has it's moments, but it's not particular correct. You need LEFT pedal taking off in the vast majority of helicopters; including the 44 in this video. You've also entirely neglected gyroscopic precession. For the helicopter to roll left the blades flatten out and produce less lift as they approach the FRONT of the aircraft, and increase in pitch as they approach the REAR of the aircraft - all the resultants happen 90 degrees later in the plane of rotation.

  • I wonder if this was what Trinity downloaded in her mind...

  • "if you can ride a bike, you can ride anything"

  • FYI, to obtain an FAA, Private Pilot Helicopter license (and you train in a R-22) it'll cost about $12,000(USD). Maybe double that for a Commercial license.

  • @choprjock You wish. The cost is around $50k for 200 hours and sling load rating. The rental is around $180.00 an hour, plus fuel cost. You need at least 150 hours for commercial along. Then 50 more for sling load. That is if you skate the whole time with no problems.

  • @WizzRacing I got my training throught the military, but the info I posted I gleaned from a flight school ad. Military flight school (years ago) was 210 hrs. of flight time, plus all the ground school. I don't even remember slingload time in school (I'm sure it was there), but it couldn't have been much more than a couple of hours. Real flight school started when you got to your unit and started flying missions.

  • @choprjock I canada is 27 000 for a private licence a 50 000 for a commercial licence

  • I need one of these just in case if there is a zombie outbreak :D

  • ok so if im flying forward and want to increase or decrease my altitude, would i use the cyclic control stick or would i have a 2 handed afair of the cyclic controls and the collective? i need to know in case the russians invade

  • @StaffSergeantPepper The simple answer would be that you would just lower the collective lever to lose altitude. In a helicopter with a reciprocating engine (and no engine RPM governor) all of the controls have to be co-ordinated to maintain, pitch, yaw, roll and engine speed. For instance, just lowering the collective decreases strain on the engine (increasing engine RPM's) and you would have to decrease throttle to maintain your engine RPM. There's more, but all the space I have.

  • @StaffSergeantPepper It depends on if you want to maintain your airspeed. In the end though, you end up using both hands and both feet because any movement on one control surface results in a need for (usually) minor adjustments in the other 2 control surfaces. Generally the only time you have a hand free is the collective hand during straight and level flight unless you have an autopilot.

  • not expensive!? im paying 75 grand for my flight school

  • now i'm ready for when the zombies come

  • Waht's the price for this helicopter?

  • @AX00O00XA from 500 thousand to 2-3 million

  • @scarymelt not even close to 2-3 million. The helicopter is made by the Robinson helicopter company and depending if it is an r44 or an r66 the price will range from 500 thousand to 850 thousand

  • They ugliest chopper ever made -.-

  • well now i want helicopter blades that look like arms

  • hahah not all that expensive?

is this a production for big business heirs and stock market billionaires?

at the fbo I train at, it's something like twice as pricey as fixed wing training

  • Nice, went deep in the technology behind, had few new thing to learn from it, Thank you.

  • Helicoper flight lessons are not all that expensive...yeah right!

  • quick question: why is the control stick also in the passengers side. wut if he has a seizure and hits the damn thing

  • Great production. keep it up!

  • LOL GIZ............mag

  • whos the sexy runway girl

  • Swashplate is really brilliant piece of engineering, see some other animations.

  • @callsignDEVIL11 @pivit81 @Timi116 @SgtRevan @flyordie2

I plan on joining the military after I graduate. Then I am getting paid to fly! Any suggestions on which branch?

  • owsome!

  • I wonder which is easier to learn this of the fixed wing. Which is more fun too? i want to begin a career is aviation and I'm a difficult choice to make.

  • @KIRDILON The fixed wing is easier by a big shot.. but helos... they are way more fun...Anyways. The first hours in a helo can be a nightmare. After all, in a helo, you have 5 controls... and only 4 limbs. Also, any control inputs, means inmediate adjustment to the others...

  • @avi3t0r Not to mention, you can't open up your pilot's operating handbook like in an airplane and read the emergency procedures. ;)

  • @KIRDILON Most people say helicopters are much harder to fly then fixed wings. I personally think helicopters are more fun, but planes are great too. :)

  • Awesome. Now I just need a helicopter. Where can I find a few millions dollars?

  • helicopter function looks to me much more complicated that this of an airplane

  • yeah nice to know how to flight! but how the hell i start the damn thing?

  • @MrLec95 with a key like most robinson helicopters

  • now i can steal a helicopter now

  • I bet I could fly it my first try.

  • Ready for a zombie attack now!

  • Now I know what to do if I ever need to jack a heli to get away from gunmen in pursuit!

  • in russia women pushes chopper

  • @HIPPOPONANOUMOUS in russia you would get bashed gimp

  • @HIPPOPONANOUMOUS shame it's Australia phaggot

  • Just Pure Aerophysics.

  • @josephsaliba79 Yes it is. Yes it is.. We all could have helicopters if we wanted. Hell I could probably make one in my back yard.

  • My Dream Job....sigh

  • cost me about 10k do get my private pilots lic. in a a cessna 172... Can somebody who has there lic to fly these choppers tell me what the Average cost to get there lic. in flying rotors?

  • at first i was thinking, There is no way that helicopter is going to pick that guy up, and then i was like, 0.0

  • The most difficult parts are taking off and landing. You may have to adjust the balance of the chopper while in the air, but it hovers along quite well by itself.

  • Jim Carrey

  • all the funeral directors watch this to measure the people who soon will be there customers, and also to plan there holidays.looks like a nother nice holiday this year comin up.

  • @137627947 prick. us heli pilots dont really die because wen we do die we respawn comeback and fuck your sister

  • this sounds so easy, but I bet, when you try it it is the hardest thing you have ever exeriencd in your life! respects to all pilots

  • Im interested in becoming a helipoter pilot and I want a future career flying helicopters for a job. I'm in year 11 and I believe I have the prequersites to become one but I have no idea what coarse to follow. Do I follow aviation I really need help. Im in victoria.

  • hi sheldon

  • 2:50 EPIC DRAMATIZATION

  • Now I can hijack a military Apache helicopter and terrorize the streets.....

    jk lol

  • @Mannexx111 Thank you!!

  • Can anyone please tell me what kind/type of helicopter this is??

  • @MICHAELJACKSON5850 Its a robbins

  • @MICHAELJACKSON5850 It' s a Robinson R44 piston engine helicopter

  • I am going to graduate college in December with $25,000 of Student Loan Debt... I should have bought a Helicopter instead.

  • @ericherold Consider yourself lucky you didnt go to my school. I didnt even graduate yet and I have almost 100k of loan debt

  • @ericherold So rather than $25,000 dollars on loan, you have $300,000 - $700,000 for your own ship? -__-

  • @ericherold 25000 isnt enough for heli, 75,000 is the cheapest I could find

  • @ericherold You will never find a helicopter for 25k

  • @ericherold Haha, I just started my helicopter training. I'm already $7,000 in debt. When I'm finished with the program I'm guessing I'll owe around $90,000. Also, the helicopter you see in this video has a suggested retail of $425,000. But it's a nice thought...

  • @ericherold you will need more than $25,000 lmao

  • @ericherold thanks 4 the tip :P

  • @ericherold $25 000 wouldn't get you the windows to look through.

  • @ericherold And another $475,000...

  • well now i know how to fly it now i need to know were to get one

  • Helicopters defy the laws of nature, therefore the helicopter pilot must be aware that Mother Nature is attempting to destroy your helicopter and end your life every second you stay in the air.

  • By using The Matrix method you will learn much faster. phew!

  • @jkillamerkboy1 that's a helicopter jack-ass!

  • @nightcatize I have a helicopter to sale for 30000 euro in Germaniy...... & you can learn to fly him yourself. See my flight ......ViCTOR STACH fly with HELICOPTER....... & I was never by flight school.

  • INCOMING SAM SITE MISSILE!!!

  • in soveit russia car drive u!

  • that chopper is pretty pricey

  • HOOORAY for xbox 360

  • @MrJakemondo no FUCK xbox360!!! besides if that guy has an xbox360 then he could've gotten the red ring of death, meaning that his helicopter gets the red ring of death and breaks down. praise the PS3 and praise SONY.

  • @navajo2911 Fuck you

  • @navajo2911 lol console gaming. I just kinda look down at you all bitching and fighting while playing on my PC.

  • @navajo2911 At least my Xbox 360 doesn't give out my personal details to hackers :)

  • @furtjager117 - You're an idiot.

  • @TwistedxSteel Maybe, but you sir have no sense of humor.

  • i love fling airplanes

  • thumbs up if you came here by searching " how to fly " :P

  • I don't mean to sound like an Idiot but, do you fly every helicopter the same way?

  • @Hahagetmerked pretty much, yes.

  • Not that expensive. If your a pop star that is.

  • not expensive?.?.?... someone that sounded like they knew what they were talking about on wiki-answers said that becoming a helicopter pilot and having people actually hire you, would cost 50,000 DOLLARS!!! FIFTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! IDK about you, but thats a little too expensive for me. I'll be turning 16 in October, is there anything I can do now that can jump-start my career other than finding "flight schools near me" because I already did?

  • @sweetmonia21 well i will recamend ATC if it is in the usa ( air training core) you can fly hellicopters with training for free!

  • @mike30566 Oh... i forgot to mention that i'd rather not learn to fly than to learn for free from the military

  • @sweetmonia21 lol , good luck to you mate. I smoke a 500$ cigar during the flight every monday. haha

  • @VistaManiac93 have fun with cancer

  • @sweetmonia21 Thanks :D i'll have fun with it

  • @sweetmonia21 when the WORLD is about to DIE, cancer is the LEAST thing you should worry.

  • allah akbar

  • Who doesn't like the Xbox 360?

  • I learned how to fly a helicopter less than 5 minutes! fuck them people going to school for years! imma go buy me one now =)

  • wow now i can come on youtube to learn how to fly a helicopter!

  • "Lessons are not all that expensive..." compared with what? Running a small country?

  • Awesome Video! Off the Fonzi scale, now thats funny!

  • pull up gently on collective, gently put pressure on left pedal to compensate for torgue, gently push cyclic forward to put nose down, gently increase up on collective and left pedal to commence forward flight, to auto rotate level out and collective all the way down, then about 30 meters all the way up

there is bare bones movement in helicopter

  • have you flown one? obviously! right??, what did you have to

do?, where did you get the lessons?, how much did you have

to pay?, i'm asking because i want to be a "heli-pilot" as well.

i know that it isn't a game nor a toy and that it is serious.

  • i have to admit that is very helpful!

  • absolutely fascinating, well done.

  • One of the best youtube videos I've seen yet.. but then again, I'm infatuated with heli's. :)

  • That was really cool! I have always wanted to learn how to fly a helicpoter!

  • the title should be how a helicopter flies. not how to fly a helicopter.

  • God dammit! I want to be a heli pilot. no one or nothing will stop me!
