I dont recommend playing with registry. At least take backup first if you intend to make changes manually. If you are trying to remove spyware make sure you run antispyware first in order to remove the malicious programs.
I deleted Live Mail in XP home system(it was acting funky), but it was still there, so I went to the registry, and opend that WLM folder and deleted as instructed by the web. I reloaded Windows Live Essentials, and now get incoming, but no outoing Live Mail, and am constantly propmted to fill in the log on box, when I never before had to? Throw me a life preserver please?

registry files?
the only files the registry uses are in the system32\config folder
and I'm fairly sure that if you delete those you won't be using your OS for very long.
