Atlanta has the feel and the atmosphere of a big city unlike Tampa where locals really think that it's a big city when it's not.Tampa is a small city lacking in many amenities big cities have like Atlanta.
man im from bham i rode down that road i think called peace ferry street through buckhead i was like damn i never seen such big rich beautiful houses in person like that
@nightrider205 paces ferry or w paces ferry is what you drove down.... Several billionaires are residents of that street including Arthur Blank and Anthony J Pratt
@SirRobbins lol damn im thinkin bout hittin licks when i come back threw there Alanta is full of money anyway where are they located im under savalence ;-)
@SirRobbins man it was night round Christmas time just past it was raining and cold i still got a nice view man atl is a nice ass city compared 2 birmingham u come here u would 4 damn sure wanna leave these are some systin ass niggas aint shit nice in the city well we got a rich part just like anybody else but the niggas r somethin serious if u dont know what im talkin bout watch 1st 48 im movin 2 atlanta soon 2 go 2 a institution i know i can get some money more easily over there then here
I stayed in atlanta for one month this summer, and i remember those days fondly of driving and stopping on this road.I come from a small town so it took me a long time to get used to the roads.
I lived in Buckhead in the mid 80's (Sheridan Drive) and I worked at Rich's at Lenox Square Mall. It's changed a lot but I can still see some similarities.
This ia a GREAT video. I'm from Smyrna, GA, my Dad and I used to ride to Atlanta every Sunday night. We would stop at the Varsity and ride through downtown Atlanta. This video brings back great memories. Thank You for making this video.
i gotta drive there from birmingham alabama on the 3rd of next month...so scared, i hate traffic wit a passion...just hope my gps will be there for me, and tell me what lanes are what ahead of time.
Buckhead is not the place it used to be . You have to have deep pockets, but now the rules have changed on who has deep pockets. so you're living, partying and socializing with people you never would have guessed you would.
Well yes and no. It's the same road but the name changed from street to road where this video starts. I do have two other videos with the Peachtree Street you are referring to.
Thank you. Which video is it? It is so amazing to watch this town today. It was a little bit like a shock, that there are skyscrapers now. In the novel it is a small town with surrounding forrests, whre Indians left a few years ago.
I love Atlanta, GA. I lived there for 14 years and I want to move back! I lived on the south side of GA for 7 years and all I can say is stay on the NORTH side and stay away from the south side! LOVED living in buckhead!
My doctor, when I was living in Dunwoody, is located further down on Peachtree. I used to make a point of going early for appointments, using MARTA from Sandy Springs, and sitting just out of the sun, coffee in-hand, looking out at the hustle & bustle of the people and vehicles going by. I found the Margaret Mitchell House, by accident, and crossed the street in front of it.
Thanks Freewayjim for allowing me to ramble, inspired as I am by your historical, archival footage.
Oh my gosh, this is insane! It is pointless, meanningless and yes mindless. I LOVE IT! I can't get enough and I don't know why. PS Makes my soundcard/speakers seem like they are high grade.
i used to live in that red brick hi rise on the left at 2:16 at terrace drive....nice video. i guess i've been looking at ptree so long it doesnt get me crunk like the other ppl below...but still a great video!
With a skyline with buckheads u can swear ur in another city. The only problem is that i wish I-75 ran through it like downtown and midtown. Also to make the atlanta skyline crazy wacky, sexy, cool we need to fill in that area between the bank of america plaza building and midtown along with filling in from midtown to buckhead
like really i dont know how to drive on those roads highways or w/e you guys call them lol ive been here for about 1 month and when i do go on the road someone is driving for me and they try explaining but they jus seems to confuss me
judging on how many videos you make in atlanta i'd say you live there? ( i know creepy.. sorry) but i have to go to duluth how far is that from the Atlanta airport.
Atlanta is more affordable and better weather. The Buckhead skyline alone can rival those of many cities. I sometimes drive on Peachtree Road from Downtown through Midtown and then on to Buckhead just for the great views.
and it's funny...do you remember when buckhead really didnt have a skyline? i remember when the tallest building in buckhead was maybe park place and tower place

A lot of the condos you passed by in the first half of the video barely hit the million mark. Most range between $300k - $800k.

I was wondering, what is the most "upscale" area to live in Buckhead? i.e nicest high rise condo's?
summergirl63 2 years ago
Probably around the Lenox Square/Phipps Place and Peachtree/Piedmont areas (later in this video).

i heard atlanta will have 20 million people in 2028 and that it doubles every ten years
hiphop2318 2 years ago
I think that is a stretch, it took over 20 years to go from 2.5 Million to 5 Million.

With how large of a district Buckhead is, I wonder why no one has suggested making it a separate city from Atlanta?
CollinsHill09 3 years ago
Its big yeah, but probably it doesn't meet the requirements of a city in that area or the're considering it.

Yea I live in Metro Atlanta.
Duluth to the airport is about a 45 minute ride in average traffic ride.
Freewayjim 3 years ago
Why is Atlanta going through such a rapid change? Why couldn't it be Boston or Hartford? Something to do with resources?
iloveroads 3 years ago
Wait. Have you been to Philadelphia? You could at least shoot 5 or 6 vids. Do you like Philadelphia?
iloveroads 3 years ago
I have a Philadelphia video already on YouTube and will be remixing another one shortly.
Freewayjim 3 years ago
How shortly? Can't wait
iloveroads 3 years ago
Because Atlanta is growing much faster than those cities, a much cheaper cost of living and labor helps.
Freewayjim 3 years ago
Wow... this video really makes you notice how much faster you go on the interstate.... :LOL.

They should rename Atlanta into Peachtree City ;)
aswchris 3 years ago
Actually, that name's already taken. There's a city in Metro Atlanta named Peachtree City, which is about fifteen miles or so south of Atlanta.
Bryant5493 3 years ago
I love taking Peachtree from Buckhead to Downtown Atlanta -especially on a Saturday night when a major cultural event is happening.

I was wondering though, is it common in Atlanta to see all the stoplights hanging from wires like that?
eluko79 3 years ago 2
Yes, it's quite common. It's a mix, wire span and mast arm installation.

I wasn't sure either, I had to do a little research and even that was inconsistent.
Brookwood Station's address is Peachtree Road so that being the case I believe it changes from Street to Road when crossing I-85....I think :)
