They should try to avoid sleeping on their stomachs because the gravity pushes their lungs and other organs down and therefore causes laboured breathing, especially since they are obese and already have heart and BP problems. Mark and anyone who has sleep apnoea should sleep on their side as well as well as use their mask, it is much safer and easier to breathe, not to mention easier to get out of bed. They should also carry salbutamol puffers on them when they go out incase they get winded.

I was a health major and I hate it when people say muscle weighs more than fat. Not true. One pound of fat weighs as much as one pound of muscle. Its just that muscle is denser.

@lstone12 I think people mean if you were to take one cubic inch of fat and one cubic inch of muscle, the muscle would come to a heavier amount. I don't know if that is true or not but I think that is what people mean. Like if you were to fill one tub with bricks and another with feathers, the tub of feathers would be lighter, but obviously a pound of feathers weights the same as a pound of bricks.

I'm not sure if it's really something to be so happy about that Dale put on that much weight that quickly. I mean, yeah, he's underweight and theoretically needs to gain weight, and that is the whole goal, but I'm a bit worried about what it'll mean for him long-term if he's putting on that much weight that quickly.

it amazes me that some of these americans, esp the ones who can walk (mark) or who have family care for them (lady from the double swap) don't make some changes. mark could being to walk, even just 100 more steps a day is something. people usually experience positive side effects with light exercise if they start slowly. also... what was her name? the lady from the double swap ws NASTY
